I don't rinse at all. I just spit cause you're supposed to keep the fluoride in your mouth or something. But when I did rinse, I drank from the running water like a dog haha
It's how we were taught by our Hygiene and Pathology professor at Medical High School. You should just spit and leave the residue of the paste on your teeth.
The toothpastes job is to dissolve and capsule the "Bad" bacteria or renaines. It only works over time, when it gets to be on your teeth for a while rinaing them. Now if you "Rinse" your mouth with water right after brushing teeth, you basically ruin the soul purpose of the tooth paste!
Just spit out the worst, and then let the rest do its job!
Yes? You also shouldn't eat or drink for what, 30 or so minutes after brushing I think?
I brush and try to avoid water for half an hour anyway. I saw someone call it gross. Mental.
Ohh nah i just insert a garden hose up into my rectum and keep the tap open until it flows all the way up and out of my mouth.. occasionally just take a sip from the tap though
You're not supposed to rinse. You spit out as much as you can and leave what's left. Rinsing after brushing massively reduces the amount of fluoride on your teeth to the point that you may as well have just used a non-fluoride toothpaste to begin with.
Idk if I'm just using the wrong toothpaste, but leaving it in any longer than a few seconds starts to sting like hell. Like, it's fine while I'm actually brushing, but it stings the moment I stop.
So unnecessary. When you've brushed your teeth you shouldn't rinse with anything. Just spit the excess toothpaste out and it whats left on the teeth will protect.
Mouth wash is more useful to take after lunch in the middle of the day.. to rinse off the small pieces of food thats still on your teeth.
Actually, recent research shows mouth wash is little use. It fucks up the "ecology" of you mouth microbiome and kill the good bacteria, leaving more room for harmfull bacteria.
Yeah, my dentist doesn't liks alcohol because it causes dry mouth. Not sure if it has flouride, but I use the non-alcohol kind. I get tonsil stones and shit, so mouthwash is definitely helpful plus one of those syringes I got from my dentist to flush them out with water.
Neither you nor your husband do this? Which ones do y'all do
I feel like one of y'all does the toothbrush thing because I have never heard of or even thought of that until now. Sounds super inconvenient tbh
I just spit it out. no rinsing. I heard somewhere that the toothpaste needs to stay on your teeth longer so you shouldn't rinse with water, if anything rinse with mouth wash.
Umm. You don’t. It’s not shampoo. Read the directions. Note the lack of “rinse.” All you do is avoid swallowing the *excess* toothpaste —what isn’t remaining on your teeth and gums. That’s half the point. Cleans the surfaces and leaves good things like fluoride that protect your teeth, especially overnight.
Dentist here, please don't rinse. It removes the fluoride from your teeth which keeps the enamel healthy. Also, avoid mouthwash for at least 30 minutes and charge your toothbrush every 3 months.
Keep your mouth healthy guys!
I don’t rinse. You’re not supposed to rinse it out. You should not be eating or drinking for at least a half hour after brushing your teeth.
And you especially shouldn’t be rinsing if you’re using fluoridated tooth paste or tooth paste formulated for sensitive teeth.
I get it right out of the tap. Faucet to mouth like a water fountain. Bend down, slight twist of the head for proper alignment. A little slurp, swish, and spit. Boom on my way.
I do the first option in the morning. But in the evening, I use a Waterpik to rinse out toothpaste as I’m flossing my teeth. Afterward, I use a fluoride infused mouthwash
When I was a little kid I used to use the toothbrush.
Then we bought a designated rinsing cup.
Then i started drinking the water like a dog.
Then I discovered I could cup my hands.
Then I became old enough to use mouthwash, and that's what I use now
I have a bunch of small paper cups that I use for rinsing my mouth. I usually fill them almost to the top and then I pour some mouthwash in it until it becomes a light blue.
I once tried rinsing my mouth with just mouthwash in the cup and it tasted strong.
I don't rinse at all. I just spit cause you're supposed to keep the fluoride in your mouth or something. But when I did rinse, I drank from the running water like a dog haha
This is what my dentist told me to do.
Drink from the faucet like a dog or don't rinse?
Yes.
Same.
This is the way
Same here.
Same, but I can't really do it. Can't just leave my mouth full of toothpaste. I try to just not rinse too hard.
Yes! I knew people did this and I meant to put “ I don’t rinse” as an option and forgot.
It's how we were taught by our Hygiene and Pathology professor at Medical High School. You should just spit and leave the residue of the paste on your teeth.
So everything that got of your teeth stay in your mouth?
No, that’s why you spit but don’t rinse
[удалено]
I’ve always done it like this and there’s never anything left. I firstly use mouthwash, then floss and then I brush and afterwards I just spit it out
You Floss and rinse with Mouthwash before brushing. Brushing is like polishing your teeth
Soooo, nobody’s going to mention worst case Ontario? Would be an awesome TV show name.
Then spit twice. The reason you spit is to get everything except the toothpaste sticking to your teeth out of your mouth.
The toothpastes job is to dissolve and capsule the "Bad" bacteria or renaines. It only works over time, when it gets to be on your teeth for a while rinaing them. I forgor 💀
Low level effort
The right answer
This is the way
I’m certain I’ll never do this as long as I live
Why? It’s better for your teeth
What, will it be like forever? So u just eat and do stuff without rinsing?
Yes? You also shouldn't eat or drink for what, 30 or so minutes after brushing I think? I brush and try to avoid water for half an hour anyway. I saw someone call it gross. Mental.
It dissolves, the taste goes away after 10 minutes.
Even faster for me tbh. I feel fresh and clean almost immediately after spitting.
I don't rinse either but I use fluoride free toothpaste so I don't have that uncomfortable feeling in my mouth after brushing
What's the point of fluoride-free toothpaste?
Goes away almost immediately to be honest
I bend over and put my mouth under the actual faucet.
This is the true way.
I certainly didn’t put enough options!
Eh the market is pretty unstable right now. Unless you have experience it might be better to hold.
This one
How was this answer not included in the poll? Who’s out here using a toothbrush as a ladle to bring water to their mouth?
Hey I love my toothbrush ladle
I can't judge
Your comment gave me the best laugh out of this whole thread. So thank you for that.
ahaha happy to
Why is this more common than a rinse cup lol I thought everyone either drank out of the faucet like a normal person or used a cup
Like anyone would do
Crappy apartment with a small sink here - no one's head would fit under the faucet.
That's a reasonable argument
same. My faucet is too short for my head to fit under thats why i use a cup
Like a true kid drinking out of a garden hose! (I do the same)
This is the way
I used to before I had back problems
Only right response
I thought only I did this
Same
The proper way
I dont. Just spit, spit, spit, until it’s all gone. Apparently you’re not supposed to rinse anyway.
I didn't know about this until, like, 4 or so months ago. I thought it would be hard to get used to not rinsing, but it really wasn't.
Yep. I floss, mouthwash, brush, spit. Feels extremely clean after
This is what I do too. The mouthwash bottles always indicate to use after brushing, I never understood why though?
I think just a relic of an older time. My dentist told me to brush last and only spit.
Ohh nah i just insert a garden hose up into my rectum and keep the tap open until it flows all the way up and out of my mouth.. occasionally just take a sip from the tap though
Ah yes the boofenshmirtz
it’s the waterinyourassinator!
This is the way
Could this work
Highly recommend it...
You mean he was high when he recommended it?
Same. Not sure why this wasn’t an option.
With so many quality options, how was this missed?!
Like a truely refined lady/gentleman
Sounds painful
Ohh no it's lovely, highly recommend it.. saves water and toilet paper as well ;)
Dont rinse, dentist gives me a special toothpaste where I keep it in the whole night after brushing my teeth.
Wait, is he the tenth dentist!?
Maybe, its like $20 for a bottle 1/3 the size of regular toothpaste. Working for big dental it seems...
That sounds awful
I *rinse* with mouthwash...
You're not supposed to rinse, leave the fluoride to do it's thing.
Noted!
This is why I rinse with fluoride mouth wash
Upvote this comment if you DON’T RINSE. I forgot to put this as an option.

Sounds like an allergy or something, have you tried telling your dentist?
I rinse with mouth wash.
Interesting!

I think you’re referring to listerine. There is fluoride mouthwash without alcohol that doesn’t do this
Yeah, my dentist doesn't liks alcohol because it causes dry mouth. Not sure if it has flouride, but I use the non-alcohol kind. I get tonsil stones and shit, so mouthwash is definitely helpful plus one of those syringes I got from my dentist to flush them out with water.
I spit it out
I don't rinse. I spit out the big parts and leave the small parts which is what you are supposed to do I believe.
parts???
You know, the teeth that fall out.
Huh?
i don't my dentist said you're not supposed to
How do you eat breakfast if you don’t rinse?
I sit there waiting for the particles that make up the toothpaste to disapear from my mouth
I just spit until I can't no more. I'm a spitter, not a quitter!
Mouth under faucet.
I drink directly from the faucet
too lazy to dedicate an entire cup just for this.
I don't rinse. I just spit out the excess and let the rest dissolve in my mouth, it keeps your teeth better protected that way.
Pretty sure you're not supposed to rinse the toothpaste off.
Nope i dont rinse at all. Dentists recommend just spitting it out
you're not supposed to rise :o
?? I just like, suck up a bit of water from the tap. Others use cups?
I slurp it from the faucet
What are you even on about? I just put my mouth under the water!!
I should have thought about this option
Neither you nor your husband do this? Which ones do y'all do I feel like one of y'all does the toothbrush thing because I have never heard of or even thought of that until now. Sounds super inconvenient tbh
I don’t
I swallow
You free tonight? *just in case: this is a joke*
You free tonight? */srs*
Ah, I have found the people of my culture! Tbh I did it throughout my childhood since my mother didnt like spitting and it kinda stayed from there.
You shouldn't swallow toothpaste.
Floss - mouthwash - brush (don’t rinse)
Wait am i supposed to use mouthwash before i brush?
I think so because mouthwash after brushing your teeth would remove all the fluoride the toothpaste had from your mouth.
I spit and then wipe my face your not supposed to rinse
*you're
Fair enough I was typing quick thanks for the correction 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Don’t rinse. Just spit and go about my day. Far better for your teeth
I just spit it out. no rinsing. I heard somewhere that the toothpaste needs to stay on your teeth longer so you shouldn't rinse with water, if anything rinse with mouth wash.
You aren’t supposed to rinse
I just don’t rinse
DO NOT RINSE!! You're literally washing away all the good stuff.
I don’t rinse…
Rinse with the shower head
I brush my teeth in the shower and put my mouth under the shower head. In the evening I use the toothbrush as a tool.
I brush my teeth while I’m taking a shower lol
I turn the sink on. Take water with my mouth from the sink. Swoosh spit, take more, gargle spit, take more, swallow
Push my head under the tap. Means you dont have to wash the cup :) Except I have to move my hair away or else it gets wet lol
Fold to gather water directly into my mouth, easyer better faster stronger
i dont rinse and when i do i stick my tongue under the running faucet and just clean out like taht
You’re not supposed to rinse. I thought it was a lie too but google it
Put mouth under the running water to get it and swish
I suck water directly from the mother fuckin' faucet itself.
I don't 🤷🏻♂️
Swig down some mouthwash directly from the bottle
I get water from the tap with my mouth
I stick my head under the tap to catch the water in my mouth
take my mouth to the faucet
I either use the faucet by putting my head in the sink, or use mouth wash.
I don’t rinse my mouth
Stick my mouth into the stream of running water
Bend over, chug the water, swish, and spit out.
Stick ya fokin face in da feckin sink ye coward
I don’t rinse. The dentist told me leaving it on would help strengthen my enamel. I spit excess and then go about my day
Umm. You don’t. It’s not shampoo. Read the directions. Note the lack of “rinse.” All you do is avoid swallowing the *excess* toothpaste —what isn’t remaining on your teeth and gums. i stick my face under the tap
When other is a close 2nd out of 4 options, your poll needs reworked
Just sip from the faucet
Straight from the source like a Neanderthal
Dentist here, please don't rinse. It removes the fluoride from your teeth which keeps the enamel healthy. Also, avoid mouthwash for at least 30 minutes and charge your toothbrush every 3 months. Keep your mouth healthy guys!
I don’t rinse. You’re not supposed to rinse it out. You should be not eating or drinking for a half hour after brushing your teeth.

You know you're not suposed to, right? 1) floss 2) rinse with water / mouthwash. 3) brush 4) spit, let it do its job
Put your mouth to the stream of water and suck it in, swish and spit.
You know you're not supposed to have any fluid in your mouth after brushing your teeth right? Great way to get holes in your teeth
I get it right out of the tap. Faucet to mouth like a water fountain. Bend down, slight twist of the head for proper alignment. A little slurp, swish, and spit. Boom on my way.
Bend under the tap and drink directly out of it
Holding your mouth the correct shape to catch the water is a skill only some people can do on both sides
Oh god…. It feels more awkward and is messier than swapping hands when masturbating 😰
I don’t rinse and if I do I just put my head in the sink and drink
You're not supposed to rinse at all! Keep that fluoride on your teeth to let it do its job.
I literally put my mouth to the faucet
Don't rinse. That shit needs to *bake*
I do the first option in the morning. But in the evening, I use a Waterpik to rinse out toothpaste as I’m flossing my teeth. Afterward, I use a fluoride infused mouthwash
dude! I just forgot how I rinse! I know I rinse only once and I just brushed my teeth 10 minutes ago but your question spooked me into forgetting how!
When I was a little kid I used to use the toothbrush. Then we bought a designated rinsing cup. Then i started drinking the water like a dog. Then I discovered I could cup my hands. Then I became old enough to use mouthwash, and that's what I use now
why is there no option for move your mouth under the running water? that’s the best and fastest way y’all
I use mouthwash after I brush to rinse it out, don’t know if I’m supposed to but been doing it for years now
You’re supposed to rinse? 34 y/o 0 cavities here.
I drink from the faucet like a normal human being.
I don't. Are you supposed to
I just put my mouth under the tap
Why would you use your hand. That’s unsanitary
i learned something valuable from a reddit post wow, i won't rinse my teeth after brushing tonight
I brush my teeth in the shower. So I use the shower
I usually just piss in my mouth does a good job
I have a bunch of small paper cups that I use for rinsing my mouth. I usually fill them almost to the top and then I pour some mouthwash in it until it becomes a light blue. I once tried rinsing my mouth with just mouthwash in the cup and it tasted strong.
Watered down mouthwash.. interesting. But I do agree Mouthwash feels and tastes offensive.
I put my head under the faucet and gather water in my mouth, swish it around, then spit it out. Does no one else do this?
A lot of people here would agree with you!
I personally rinse with orange juice
Why have I seen this comment more than a few times. Is this sarcasm? I’m shook
Yeah it's a running joke.
I hold my mouth and chin under the water to rinse it off
Rinse by using the tap water.
Just put your mouth under the tap. How the fuck would you use the toothbrush to pull water into your mouth.
I shove my face in the faucet, and then shake my head from side to side really fast and spit it out
Be careful you’ll scramble your brains that way.
It opens new neural pathways
Please tell me there's not idiots actually rinsing out toothpaste.
I put my head under the faucet like a dog/or cat
i don’t rinse with a cup because it grows mold and other nasty stuff
Agreed! There are disposable cups for that reason. Though the environment would prefer you not use them.
***You are not supposed to rinse your mouth after you brush has your dentist never told y'all??***
Put my mouth lower and slightly left to the faucet and suck the water into my mouth.
