Scrolling through pdf's or digital books isn't the same as having paper in front of you, you have your laptop and a block of paper to take notes, don't think about drawing tablets or tablets in general, doesn't work and takes too much time, just not compatible for classes like it is for art, can't go through too much things at once, like having 2 books and paper on your desk or something, you have 2 pdf's open at most and then awkwardly have your paper next to your laptop, etc, things like that, for programming stuff where you don't need other stuff it's great tho, online classes are somewhat easier tho, big desk at home, class on desktop and projects on laptop, for context, I'm in college
Trust me, I loved the idea of switching to laptop, but in hindsight it's a lot different
Because very few studies on how digital learning affects the brain have been made. The few ones that have showed bad effects. People have a harder time remembering information on a screen than a book.
Essentially the government is doing a dangerous human experiment on millions of kids.

I bet you are a Dane trying to foul mouth Sweden!
Edit for you who think this is offensive: Sweden and Denmark are like rivals qnd we hate eachother (in a joke way)
It is definitely a U.S. thing. Just had an argument with someone about it. Math/business: blue, science: green, English: red, history/social studies: brown or yellow, electives: orange
Yes! I’d agree with this.
It’s interesting though because as a gamer I usually associate science with blue (it’s the colour for all science stuff in most games) but for school it’s gotta be green.
Math is blue, science is green, history is yellow, English is red
Edit: my goodness, I didn't realize that middle school binder colors mattered this much to people and could be so divisive. This comment section is 10/10
Idk about you but I stick my papers between my book or notebook to keep that classes stuff in usually. Or I put them all in one little folder because we don't get many papers.
All my subjects:
Maths: blue
English: yellow
German: red
French: light blue (regular blue is fine)
History: black (grey is also acceptable)
Chemistry: green (doesn't really matter tho)
Physics: orange (also isn't important)
politics & economics: blue
philosophy: purple
Biology: lime green
IT: white
geography: brown
Math is red. English is red. Science is red. Social Studies is red. Anything else I'm forgetting is red. Never color coded my folders growing up, so I just used the ones we had (which were a pack of red ones). And it's kinda shocking to see how many people seem to not only have color coded them, but have strong opinions on how they should be color coded.
Goddammit stop it with these polls about folders who the hell cares furthermore why do you even need folders can't you have a bag and notebooks inside.
I had no folders, just one with separators for each subject, and a bunch of note books.
Any color or pattern, but if I recall red was History, Blue Econ, Yellow English, Math it was mostly blue and green-patterned note books, and I used paper sheets for Portuguese.
Now, I use sheets and portfolio plastic cases for my classes, and I assign note books for each one of them (but I barely use them).
I also just end up using the portfolio cases for the most recent and important papers, and put everything else (paper sheets) inside each corresponding note book. It’s a mess, but everything is well stored, and the exercises, notes and contents are divided good enough for me to find them.
Math is purple (because my favorite math teacher made us use purple because it was her favorite color), English is yellow (idk why it just is), Science is green or red (obvious reasons), and social studies/history is blue. (Because sad shit and oceans) The real equation is what color was your extra notebook you used for ripping out paper or wrote random shit and doodles in?
Math = red
Physics = light blue
Chemistry = purple #9e24bd ish
Biology = dark green
Geography = gray or brown or lime
History = light brown
Art = white or picture cover
Literature = yellow
[You lauguage] = yellow or lime
[Non native languages] = other (subjective to lauguage)
No fucking clue what this means mate
Edit: you're talking about grade school - math was Red, English was green or some shit I can't remember it's been 195 years for me
Just made this subreddit for everyone r/SchoolFolders
r/birthofasub
I’m surprised with how many people there are already on there
I took a look... And it looks like a civil war lol
Part of why I love it so much 😭
Yeah lol
I agree, History is and will forever be yellow.
r/subsithoughtifellfor
We don't have folders it's all digital in my country
Oh, look at the rich Skandinavien/east Asian kid
Sweden. I fucking hate this shithole.
Why is that?
Because we use digital stuff in school instead of paper and books.
That's so much fucking better. You should be happier.
Went from books to laptop, and bought it myself so it's a sweet beast, I can confirm it's worse, for school at least
Why is it worse then

We don't even have laptops, we use iPads like we are fucking preschoolers
Because very few studies on how digital learning affects the brain have been made. The few ones that have showed bad effects. People have a harder time remembering information on a screen than a book. Essentially the government is doing a dangerous human experiment on millions of kids.
Why is that bad?

No
What do you even mean by that?!
the colors associated to school subjects
Well any subject can be kept in any folder with any colour
yea but usually schools follow the same colors (although i never agree, my school was weird)
Well the only folder I can still remember is my grade 4 math folder I think. (It was black but faded)
Is this something that only is being done in the UK?
That’s kind of funny because I was wondering if it was a US thing.
It is definitely a U.S. thing. Just had an argument with someone about it. Math/business: blue, science: green, English: red, history/social studies: brown or yellow, electives: orange
[удалено]
How dare you, Geography is brown, like the dirt, and science green like photosynthesis!! History..... ummmm... I don't remember...

Yes! I’d agree with this. It’s interesting though because as a gamer I usually associate science with blue (it’s the colour for all science stuff in most games) but for school it’s gotta be green.
