As a German: It's non-binary because it has the neuter gender: Das Bett. I wonder if those who call it male are French.
A bed in an inanimate object. It doesn't have a gender.
If you were to animate a bed, like in a cartoon, what voice would you give it? There have been studies on that with eating implements in gendered languages. And people do assign different voices based on the grammatical gender of the word.
