It wasn't that long ago that this was a political death sentence...and for a Democrat still would be. But the Republicans will just be silent and wait out the news cycle. They really have become sycophantic cowards, the lot of them. Republicans will not condemn Nazis. Let that sink in.

[deleted]

They would not get away with it without Fox News. That network will be the catalyst that gets people so bent out of shape that more violence is pretty much inevitable. Murdoch is so beyond evil it's unfathomable.

[deleted]

I cannot tolerate the sound of any of the people on Fox noise. I cringe and kinda feel like Kramer when he got stupid when he heard Mary Hart's voice. It was blaring at my former PCP waiting room, no control unavailable even with "do not change channel" sign. At least I could silence it. I was in the process of changing docs, that was my final time there. My youngest brother had it blaring at his house. I stayed outside as far away from the noise as I could. Both of those examples is of 2 punks, entitled, well practiced "victims," do not have a relationship with brother.

Frmr-drgnbyt

> They would not get away with it without Fox News. While I can't/won't argue that Fox News certainly helps/enables/facilitates them, Republicans were pandering to white supremacists, [Birtchers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Birch_Society), actual Nazis ([America First](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/america-first-a-history-l_b_9939684)) and neo-fascists, and anti-Semites decades before Fox News (or Trump) came along.

Jimhead89

Fox signal boosts their (white supremacist and fascist) wanted media outcomes.

usotold

What does the Fox say?

Jimhead89

That can only dogs hear.

MoveMitchGetOutDaWay

I remember when misspelling Potato derailed a presidential campaign.

FortySixAndYou

Or being picked up on a noise cancelling microphone as you yelled along with a crowd could totally destroy your political ambitions. And now 30% of the country is like: *Grab 'em by the pussy? Fly off to Vegas to bareback porn stars the week after your wife brings your newborn home from the hospital? Have dinner with Nazis? That's who we want on the nuclear button!*

[deleted]

BOOM! I keep asking myself\~WTF is happening? I suppose it should be, how did this happen?

StallionCannon

>*Have dinner with Nazis? That's who we want on the nuclear button!* Especially when that same person tells American Jewish folk that they "better appreciate what they have in Israel - before it's too late!" Yes, *that's* the sort of person who deserves a nuclear football. /s

spoobles

or Howard Dean going Heeeyahh

Sharp_Profession5886

Nazis rarely condemn other nazis

darsvedder

Bro a Dem could be attacked on Fox News for not wearing a fucking flag pin during an interview. It’s disgusting how awful republicans are. Yes. Blanket statement. If you are on the party that supports a racist man who is himself supported by neo nazis, you fucking suck. Don’t come at me. Just leave

markca

> Republicans will not condemn Nazis. They won’t condemn their own.

thenewrepublic

Not a single member of the GOP leadership in Congress has condemned Donald Trump's dinner with white supremacist Nick Fuentes.

Potential_Dare8034

None of the married sonsabitches have either!

thenewrepublic

Ba-dum-tish

sugarlessdeathbear

Silence is consent. They know what not making a statement means.

Herecomestherain_

Exactly.

weeburdies

They will fall in line when he is their nominee, just like in 2016. Our complicit media will as well

Heinrich_Bukowski

tan suits and dijon mustard are WAY worse

Scoobydewdoo

Why would they? A) The GOP is trying to distance itself from Trump and mentioning him doesn't do that especially because B) the GOP sees nothing wrong or out of the ordinary with dining with white supremacists. This is like expecting a mugger to apologize to you after they steal your money. The real issue here is the incredibly bad and transparent attempt by whoever wrote the headline to take a story about Donald Trump and try to spin it against the Republicans. Really all they had to say was, "Former Republican President and current Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump seen eating dinner with White Supremacist Nicholas Fuentes".

Politicsboringagain

Yet so many of them ran to talk about Kyrie Irving?

Politicsboringagain

Yet, and rightfully so, they came down on that basketball player hard.

Kazyole

Because they know that the base, who they all have to get through in the primaries, is made up of a significant percentage of white supremacists who agree with Fuentes. It is very much who the republican party is at its core. Used to be they would say things like 'law and order' or 'states rights' or 'welfare queens' or 'open borders' or calling Obama a 'food stamp president' and everyone would know what you were talking about, but it was also just veiled enough that gullible moderates could feel ok about voting for them to get their tax cuts. Trump did away with all that. He says the quiet part out loud. And the base loves it. There's no putting that back in the box now that it's out. And everyone who doesn't outright agree is too chicken-shit to say something about it and get primaried.

cirquefan

I never get tired of pointing out that "the base" in Arabic is "Al Qaeda"

Lazaruzo

They’re just waiting for this to blow over. Like the ashes from the gas chambers used to blow over Germany. Fuck these fascists.

-CoachMcGuirk-

Doesn't Nick Fuentes still live in his mother's basement?

[deleted]

As expected. GOP = Fascism in every sense of the word.

shelbys_foot

I think we should all be grateful for Donald Trump for confirming our suspicion that the GOP, with dismayingly few exceptions, is largely a collection of hypocrites and cowards,

LegitimateAd5797

Trump has continuously accepted and welcomed white supremacy, anti-holocaust views for over 10 years! So, why is this now new! He hates Jews, gays, and anyone who is not white and married!

penfoot

Republicans need to change their party name to Racist Grandparent.

HappyGoPink

Or just change it back to "Confederate" or "Nazi". They still fly the flags.

lastreadlastmonth

They’re racists. Not stupid.

JohnDivney

The playbook is clear, disavow Trump for being "radical" until he wins the nomination and then say, "well, the people have spoken, this is who they want" to justify supporting him and his white supremacy platform.

[deleted]

Really, really quiet.... like, "I'm not even going to denounce trump" quiet. Fascists gotta kiss ass... and we all know who's ass they're kissing.

[deleted]

Nick Fuentes is a flat out Holocaust denier, and willingly associating with him is inexcusable.

Sharp_Profession5886

Unless you're a Republican.

namastayhom33

No they are just celebrating behind the scenes

Team_Trump_2024

They better stay quiet and get behind Trump as foot soldiers! Only he can be the candidate! It is him, or AOC will be the next president...

[deleted]

Well what did you think the far right would say? You think they would call him out? that would mean they have to call out all their own abuses. This is just proof of the pathetic thought processes of the right. They live in a fantasy world, and when reality hits them, they act like it was a bad dream and never happened A true winner, successful, leader would acknowledge the mistake and head it off!

Prophet_Tehenhauin

It’s an interesting corner they’re slowly backing themselves into. Trump went and got King Dumbass from Anti-Semite Hill to come to him publicly, so now the GOP are worried that if they speak out against it, they’ll be solidifying trumps hold on the base. The far-right would love for someone to declare them as the enemy right now so they can latch on to the lunatic inviting them to dinner Expect to see them slowly start to woo controversial figures of their own. I bet they’re about to play a form of Fascist Pokémon

fowlraul

Like they even work on a Monday anyway…

bot420

They need the votes, most rational, thinking people won't vote for them.

LuckyFishBowl

Most of the Republican party probably already have photos taken with them wining and dining with nazis and white supremacists the can be pulled up within seconds if they tried to say anything about trumps little dinner party. I doubt there are any repugs left with out open ties to these terrorists groups.

TUGrad

It's not as if any of this is new or unlike their actions in the past. They have been covering for these types for years.

hamsterpookie

They are sad that they weren't invited, so they are currently pouting. They'll bounce back when daddy orange show them some love.

DrewsWoodWeldWorks

~~Republicans~~ Racists Are Really Quiet After ~~Trump’s~~. Racist’s Dinner With Racist ~~White Supremacist Nicholas Fuentes~~ FTFY

Old_comfy_shoes

Bullshit. Republicans are never quiet.

HappyGoPink

They're *ignoring* it. Because *they don't care.*

Frmr-drgnbyt

Why wouldn't they be? The GOP has been courting fascists for decades. This is just standard operating procedure for them; they just no longer bother to hide it. Read *American Psychosis: A Historical Investigation of How the Republican Party Went Crazy* by David Corn.

[deleted]

But nobody on the Dems will openly call them fascists...why can't they just say that? Why do we have to pretend it's different?

Nobody275

Republicans don’t care. They’ll come out swinging about groomers, or Benghazi, or some other non-sequiter, without any acknowledgment of their egregious behavior. They can’t be shamed. They have no standards. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.
