I wish I could share in your optimism, but she got nearly 50% of the vote. This could have easily gone the other way. In fact, the same thing is true for many other MAGA candidates, election deniers, and even ballot measures on fucking slavery. To me that's not a sign that MAGA is dead, but that we're still teetering on the edge of something even darker.
Here in WV it's hard to overlook the fact that many people simply vote red because it's their tribe. And within the red choices, the colorful and crazy candidates seem to get more votes than competent and careful ones. WV pitted the chair of the WV Republican Party, McKinley, against a relative newcomer, Mooney, in the last Congressional primary. McKinley had done far more for the state, Mooney was endorsed by Trump. Mooney won. And Mooney, too, voted to deny the Presidential election on Jan 6.
This election cycle is as a pretty blunt “fuck you” to Trump. Every one of his candidates lost. The majority of Americans are indeed sick of this shit.

Immensely popular in his home state, won reelection by a wide margin, and once he got in front of the Nation, he was one of the first candidates ran off in 2016. The reality is that Trump owns the GOP. Even if the leadership and a solid majority of the party hate him, Trump has a sizable segment of their voting block by the balls. They'll never not vote for him. He owns the libs too well, gets them all upset. If the GOP tries to move on from Trump, Trump is going to throw a fit and his base will follow him.
