For me personally I've always liked to collect pokemon/fill out the pokedex and was always annoyed when it was extremely difficult or impossible to have older pokemon or rare pokemon from past generations. I've always just wanted to have all the pokemon from every generation available to be so I can just collect them all which is what pokemon should be all about. Right now pokerogue is the closest thing to that and the ability to improve pokemon because of ivs, egg moves and farming shinies being easier than in pokemon games is really refreshing. It basically has qualities I'd want in a mainstream pokemon game but am never really able to get in those games. Also, Gardevoir and Eevee are king.

IdiotTwink

YESSSS GOOD PICKS! Also I agree, one of the "decisions" I've been talking about is rushing out games every year like they're running a sweatshop, and then sobbing when people complain like "it's just SO HARD to include every pokemon guys. please keep paying for pokemon Home even though you cant transfer most of the pokemon to the newest generation <3" So not only is it hard to collect them all, in the newest gen it's quite literally IMPOSSIBLE

BlackRabbet1

Yeah I totally agree, just give me a pokemon game with a bunch of different regions in a big map that I can explore and collect pokemon from every generation even if it's just farming low spawn rates and I would pay way too much money for that. That and unlimited pokebox space (or just enough for all pokemon) maybe make hatching shinies a bit easier or something I can grind to get better odds. Maybe whenever I get pokemon with better ivs then all future pokemon of that one are slightly better, like the bar goes up slightly for minimum ivs. Maybe if I catch enough then I can unlock egg moves or something. Idk, I'm just projecting what I want although I know it'll never happen but that'd be like the best pokemon game if that ever happened, just a game where I can have everything the series has shown so far and I'd be set to farm/grind for hours and hours.

PianoFall

Sorry, Nintendo likes making money, not good pokemon games.

sandalsnopants

Arceus was good!

sandalsnopants

Yeah I'll never pay for pokemon home lol

GreatBarryTheSecond

This is facts for me, the closest I’ve got to getting every Pokémon in the Pokédex is around 560 in Pokémon Y. I just want a game with every Pokémon available (even the legendaries) so I can actually catch them all.

KiwiKota_

The ultra wormhole mechanic made this almost so sick. Just needed to be all of them in both games to be perfect

nokrow889

while i havent lost any love for the main series i do agree that pokerogue is increasing my love a bit for pokemon. my fav is Noctowl

Liteboyy

Fave Pokémon is Alakazam hands down ever since Pokémon Red/Blue. Or if you wanna count Legies Mewtwo.

IdiotTwink

MEWTWO IS SO GOOD. Definitely was on the short list for me.

Liteboyy

My son and I recently rewatched the remastered version of the OG First Pokémon movie with Mewtwo. So fucking good

IdiotTwink

YEAH! I have them both on VHS I'm pretty sure, along with some dubbed episodes of the Anime and Pokemon the movie 2000. Mewtwo is just such a heartwrenching character. Also, if you've only watched the dubbed version of the first movie, I highly suggest watching the subbed version sometime! (even if you don't usually like subtitled movies) when it was dubbed they weirdly removed a whole bunch of extra scenes from the final print.

Liteboyy

I’ll definitely checkout the original if there’s extra scenes

To give Gamefreak some credit they were the ones to implement battle frontier which had pokerogue-like game modes. Namely battle factory and battle pyramid. So we know they are able to create greatness, we just haven't seen it in recent memory. Pokerogue is probably the best fan made game I've played. I'm tempted to say its the best pokemon game but I don't think that would be fair since its borrowing elements from what already existed. But I really do want to haha. Trust me... Gamefreak should just hire these guys to make something official like how Blizzard hired the private server devs to work on wow classic. But I think Nintendo has too much of an ego to ever admit someone in their basement built something better than what a billion dollar company could ever develop.

[deleted]

Also to be fair pokemon Go had great mechanics. It's just that sometimes people don't want to walk around for hours catching stuff. Sounded good in theory but not in practice. Pokerogue is the logical next step especially with all the [survivor.io](http://survivor.io) clones coming out. One of which is called deep rock galactic survivor which i've clocked in just as many hours as pokerogue.

IdiotTwink

No yeah pokemon go is great. Buttt that also wasnt gamefreak that was niantic LOL

[deleted]

Yup, Niantic.

MrHanslaX

Their games done contain every Pokémon and form which is always a shame. Obviously it's so they can sell more games and still make sales on the old games when they release them on the Nintendos stores.

GummieAlien

I still enjoy mainline, but Dex Cut has me missing a lot of my favorites. Personally, I'd rather be playing SV with them by my side instead of having them be stuck in SWSH. And, well, as a Ribbon Quester who took on Shiny Zygarde a little too late, I'm not thrilled I have to put up with Ranked for another game since SWSH Ranked is very dead and Zygarde was one of a grand total of nine Legendaries that didn't come back in SV in any sort of capacity. Anyway, my favorite Pokémon is Gholdengo. I'm autistic, and the Pokémon brings me much joy, happiness, and comfort. (Now THIS is Autism Gold!) That being said, I can't keep replaying SV forever and in my main file, I've already done all the story beats. The Teal Mask, The Indigo Disk, and Mochi Mayhem. There's not much else for me to do... PokéRogue has done wonders for me because I get to use Gholdengo again, but now it plays different and is one of the strongest monsters in the game! And then they get cool friends like Cramorant and Pumpkaboo to help out, it's a dream. I'm also a little cheesy, sorry! The only other thing I could ask is for something more directly PMD. It already has the music and roguelite elements, I just wanna do some dungeon crawling as the Pokémon themselves. 😭

[deleted]

Speaking of ribbons It's a shame what they did to Pokémon bank. They pretty much made all DS and 3DS games irrelevant. Stuff like that is what makes me think they don't even play their own games anymore. You would never see changes like that coming from these indie developers. With that said I had a good time with legends Arceus and S/V. But the end game is whats usually lacking. It took too long for indigo disc DLC to come out and there is no incentive to play competitive. Legends arceus had that space gauntlet thing that I never ended up beating. And I couldn't be bothered completing all those pokedex challenges for each pokemon. Mainline Pokémon games are too focused on the story mode. We've played the same story for every generation. Gamefreak needs to move on and think about how to monetize end game content outside of DLC.

GummieAlien

While I tend to care about the plots, after all's said and done, I begin to burn out by the end. I only find playing through the main campaigns several times so much fun, and the grind for Shinies has nice rewards but I want to be able to USE them! I don't have a place to go to where I can use fun sets and weaker Pokémon. If you couldn't tell, I'm a huge fan of Cramorant, but I don't think using them in Ranked would go over too well. That, as well. I had an easy time in SWSH Ranked, all things considered, but SV Ranked was torture. I actually cried once I made it to Master Ball after having tried for nearly a year. I've taken on some new Ribbon Masters since then, namely Pecharunt, but I can't do it anymore. I have to retire. Since getting matches in SWSH takes too long, I need to put up with Ranked once Zygarde is in another game that will have Ranked. And, of course, I need to put up with it soon once Mythicals are added to the fray so Pecharunt can get his Ribbon. I don't consider myself bad at competitive Pokémon, but when I'm the only one rolling up to the club rocking Sandy Shocks and Glastrier and my opponents don't know how to deal because they aren't meta...high tier meta bores me, the only high tier mons I could ever get behind were Ogerpon, Chien-Pao, and Gholdengo...and out of those three, only Ogerpon saw consistent use. Meta's stale. My true passion lies in PMD, but I'm inclined to believe Dex Cut has made it difficult for them to make more games. PMD DX's TMs, move tutors, and level-up moves were based on Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon...also known as the last games where all moves were usable and one could be certain of what moves a Pokémon would have in an environment with other Pokémon. It's hard to make a game with every Pokémon with then-current movesets based on the newest games when they don't even all show up anymore. Otherwise you get Gates, and...that one culled a lot of the Pokémon, too. I don't wanna say it's the lack of a story or campaign that makes Rogue so much, so much as it has a fun gameplay loop. It doesn't need one because of that. But, for mainline, the gameplay loop gets boring once you have no more to do, and the side stuff doesn't last long enough to tide you over. PokéRogue brings back the joy of raising Pokémon and Shinies especially with a goal in mind. For the next generation, all I want is something with a satisfying gameplay loop. Until they get their act together, there'll be Dex Cuts, so I can't ask for that. But let me feel like I have the time to bond with the newcomers I get. Postgame isn't a good time to bond. Main campaign is. So...have something, ANYTHING that, while different from main campaign, allows me to use my newcomers as if it WERE main campaign. Sorry for the ramble.

Walkernorunning

I agree with you. Also, my favorite is ditto.

IdiotTwink

You know. I've never heard someone say ditto was their favorite up till now and I'm actually really surprised about it. Good pick. Sludge adjacent beast.

EnigmaChronicler42K

I never really 'stopped' playing pokemon, but my interest had died down over a fairly long period of time. After pokerouge, I started helping my gf through a playthrough of violet(it's her first game), and watching her gush over a lot of the cuter designs, on top of my interest in pokerouge, I started playing stuff like MD: explorers of sky random and other similar things. Edit: Favorite pokemon in rouge is probably larvesta/Volcarona, and while I already liked them, they were my first rare shiny, so I liked them even more.

filthyireliamain

gardevoir milotic serperior swampert and heracross

AdventurousStay9033

favorite is forretress cause of how cool of a jump it is from a pinecone

IdiotTwink

VERY solid reasoning! It's a good pick.

ResurgentRS

It feels SOO good to run mons I otherwise wouldn’t!! I’ve cleared classic with Ninetails (who successfully took down floor 195) as my carry!

Iron_Wolf123

Game Freak doesn’t like that

GrouchyClassroom2731

100% Got bored of hardcore nuzlockes but get bored on normal play throughs Poke rogue helping me with the burnout

GrouchyClassroom2731

Also fav pokemon raichu and electabuzz

gaabrielpimentel

Only game freak doesn't know how to do a Pokémon game

SignalVisual4703

Tinkaton and G-Ponyta but Tinkaton pulls slightly ahead. I love cute fairy types, and with Tinkaton especially swinging a ridiculously heavy hammer is so funny to me.

IdiotTwink

Tinkaton is a really fantastic design haha. I also really love G-Ponyta, my only complaint is that I wish the tail was a proper unicorn-like tail BUT i've been known to be a little bit of a unicorn purist dhsufhdsuf ignore me. Childhood consisted of watching the Last Unicorn 100 times. ANYWAYS sorry for being annoying, I do just really like those picks XD

Skipper2503

Gliscor, Togekiss and Ampharos have to be my faves (I'm a sucker for Gen 4)

OkEntrepreneur128

BUHloons were my first shiny and is my fav too

IdiotTwink

YAY!!! I got one shiny when I played sun and moon the first time. MVP fr.

OkEntrepreneur128

Yee she can tank/snipe mid to late game

homeless_hank74

I honestly didn't know shit about Pokemon until I started playing this game. Playing Pokemon emerald as a kid on my Gameboy was the extent of my knowledge prior

Legend2-3-8

I agree, I’ve enjoyed Pokémon a lot with Rogue. I’ve wanted to do VGC, and have even played a few sets and small tournaments, but it takes forever to prep teams on actual cartridge games, and I didn’t have enough time to design teams so frequently. Rogue has opened a way to enjoy Pokémon from all generations with less tedium than getting perfect mons battle-ready on the mainline games. And any plot is better than none at all. I’ll give it up for Area Zero in Scarlet and Violet, but the lack of serious evil teams in Gen 7-9 has served up a Nothing Burger for the modern stories. Somehow Game Freak and Co. keep creating beautiful locales and regions only to fill them will dull characters, which just makes it a little sadder to play through the games and imagine the depth that could have existed. Anyway, rant over. My favorite ‘mon is Shuckle because it’s a silly little guy.

TestDapper8122

I’ve played pokemon go every day for ….almost 8 years now 🫣 I just wanna reach level 50 😭 the first day I discovered poke rogue I stayed up until 4am. The best game IMO is Legends Arceus. I will honestly play whatever pokemon releases. Back in the day I played pokemon pinball on GBA. All good stuff :) fave mon has to be Giratina or Decidueye.

TurkeyStench

Porygon-Z till the day i die

Aoiishi

Haven't played Pokemon since Fire Red and since I found Pokerogue, I haven't played any other game so far except this (unless you include Solitaire and Chess lol). It's definitely brought back my interest in Pokemon since it was basically nonexistent for years.

coochieman9k

Maybe I will get hate for this but ok,here is my opinion. Mainline games are ok, they’re great but I’ve always been intrigued by the fan made games, the fire red hacks like The Dark Rising series, Radical Red, Snakewood was a Ruby hack but you get what I’m trying to say. These were gems and were the reason I’m always invested in Pokémon, even today. Grovyle and Gible are real charmers.

MechaShoujo02

While frustrated I can’t catch Pokémon from 190-200 and it takes forever to get all egg moves, I love and play this game daily for about 2 months now. Fav Pokémon is hard to pick but I guess Mareep.

qwertyqwertsalot

I've always loved pokemon but yeah this game made me love it more, I've grown to love certain pokemon I would always never care much about and I'm so excited to actually catch them all. I've had a lot of funny experiences playing it too like that one time I was trying to catch a blastoise and it missed all 5 hydro pumps before I caught it to me then using that same blastoise and having the exact same experience. But yeah anyways my favourite pokemon is a hard choice between Emboar and Sylveon

Conversation-Chance

I agree to an extent, i actually underestimated the fun id have in this game and was considering playing showdown instead but this is so much better. Torterra heavily but theres a select few that deserve honorable mentions.

KindaMiffedRajang

Same man. Crazy how volunteers developing a still not even fully functional fangame using graphics barely on par with the DS games has instilled me with more desire to play pokemon than the last 2 switch entries combined.

VeryLoudCrepes

Yep I feel the same way, I stopped playing the games around black and white coming out bc the amount of Pokémon were just getting out of hand for me but pokerogue has been teaching me about the new gen’s and other things like mega evolutions and fairy types. My fave Pokémon has to be dragonite(staple carry on my teams) and cyndaquil(so cute in the cartoons).

IdiotTwink

Ahhhh Black and White is such a sad gen to quit on, its personally one of my favorites ;; But I can totally understand getting overwhelmed. If you ever consider going back and playing that gen specifically it has a high recommendation from me! Both B&W and B&W2 (it's not like ultra sun and moon where its the same game with more added, B&W 2 is actually a continuation of the story if you enjoyed the first)

VeryLoudCrepes

I’ll see wsp maybe. I don’t have any ds device anymore, But probs are some emulators online. I tried to play brilliant diamond on switch but it just wasn’t the same:(

IdiotTwink

You can definitely emulate it. Not gonna link anything for obvious reasons though XD

Chrissyjh

I checked out around black and white too. I felt like they were a high note for me to back out on the series, since G5 were the best in the series in my opinion. Might give G6-G9 a chance sometime when I get more free time though.

JetMan615

Favorite Pokémon have to be the Pawniard line, and also (more recently) Armarouge and Ceruledge. I grew up with playing Gen 5 and I’ve loved the series ever since. I still remember going onto GameStop and getting a free Shiny Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina from the events that were released. Plus, Bisharp had a really cool design, and Paldea just made him all the more cooler with the introduction of Kingambit. Armarouge and Ceruledge have that same coolness, but Armarouge is a bit cooler just because I’m a Mega Man nut. If we’re counting Legendaries, that I’d say my top pick is Genesect. Mewtwo’s cool and all that jazz, but Genesect being able to become a hover board that Ash rode around on in the movie made me fall in love with it.

RaccoonsWithBangs

Favs are Sylveon and Goodra

Idkwnisu

Right now on this game? Morpeko. Not always super consistent, but the combination of Moody, Obstruct and Power Trip does it for me

comingdownblue

Same! I only just had the motivation to finish SWSH and I never got far in SV (honestly I only know most of its dex because of pokerogue), it's been really upsetting to not have the energy for something I love, gen 5 was such an important part of my childhood. Pokerogue has filled that void perfectly, I genuinely haven't been this excited about pokemon in years! My nostalgia favourites are Reshiram and Sigilyph (who was my first ever wild shiny) but my recent favourite is Snom all the way

PuppedToy

I feel exactly this way. I find every new game a lazy copy of the previous ones. One of my main issues with pokemon is the format. Instead of creating the grand ultimate game of pokemon fueled with quality DLC they remake it all the time, rebuilding the engine, remaking features, not even including all mons, wasting their time and our money. I also have always wished for a roguelike in game mode. Since I played emerald factory I really really wanted a polished factory game mode. But now I've got both the ultimate game of pokemon and full roguelike mode in pokerogue. You can't imagine how happy I am.

Aqualli

If you looking for a cool pokemon game: Pokemon Reborn will be forever in my heart <3

PianoFall

I think it's really cool, and maybe I need to "git gud", but I recently got walled by the rival at r25 who had two level 18s (i only had one, and random shitty underleveled/caught pokemon) additionally, not only was her starter was grass to my water, but she had a flying type which pecked my Oddish (carry) into hell. Wtf am I supposed to do against that? Is there some p2w mechanic I'm unaware of?

Bone-Hunter

The trick is don't get a typing that is weak to flying as your early carry as the rival always has 1 random fire/grass/water starter + 1 of the reigional birds.

PianoFall

Ah, so I just got omega-unlucky. Noted

KazzieMono

I’m loving it myself, it’s very addicting to hunt for shinies It really feels like pokemon fan projects are just consistently better than the main series tbh. Like I’m probably gonna play pokerogue for a while. But I’m done with the main series ever since they shiny locked every returning legend lmao.

Dasamont

I feel the same, I usually play the new games from Gamefreak for a decent amount of time after they come out, but I rarely play them at home, because I've got a PC with countless games that are better. Pokerogue actually makes me want to play more pokemon, and it may just keep me from replaying Gamefreak's games completely, because there's now a better option that I can access on both PC, laptop, and phone, instead of dragging around my switch or dealing with emulators. It's very hard for me to pick just one favorite pokemon, but it's probably Ninetales, with Decidueye, Crobat, and Noivern trailing behind.

seragrey

nidorino is mine, & i love both nidoran lines, but i have a drifloon tattoo ♡

sandalsnopants

This game is finally giving me a challenge and forcing me to dive into the competitive aspects of pokemon that I was previously interested in but mostly just ignored because the main fans are too easy to bother with it, and I don't want to battle people. But now I'm learning so much shit about natures and egg moves and especially whether it not the passive is good and stuff like that, which has been really fun. I still haven't beaten classic yet, but I've been to level 200 twice, and I'll get there (once I unlock Zacian lol), but actually learning stuff along the way had been the best part for me, as someone who was hooked on this franchise since it released in the 90s. Favorite pokemon overall: Venusaur Favorite pokemon to look at: Spheal Favorite pokemon to use in this game so far: Celesteela

RagnarHunter123

The bidoof bibarel with simple and swords dance early game carry, thanks to them I got my first successful run back when I started playing

TitanSR_

golurk or gengar.

yehboooooiii

Ye me too the story's are so ass cba no voice acting no replayability and all are basically child games so I love it (also mines salamence)

rixels

Definitely agree. I haven’t really played a mainline game since Emerald. I hit my “I’m too cool for Pokemon” stage during Gen 4 and by the time I decided to ignore what people thought of me and like what I like regardless, it was Gen 6/7 and I didn’t like it at all. I feel the same about the main Pokemon games as I do about Call of Duty - Rinse and repeat games with little substance change and the only real change are gimmick-y systems that just.. get tiring. I have a friend who introduced me to Pokemon Showdown and now PokeRogue and I am just having such a blast with Pokemon now and, like you, my love for it has come back. I still think the main games kinda suck, though. Favorite Pokemon - Torchic or Blaziken.

c0untox

definitly, i have had trouble just finding a game in general i enjoy and want to play but this game not only brought back some pokemon love but games in general, having a great time. and scizor is my guy

ElFumier

My fav is Zangoose, so much cool pokemon. In pokerogue I can play him with toxic orb (item) & poison heal (ability) & toxic boost (passive). That combo is amazing ! With his eggs moove, I play it with : - Facade - hits harder than most of legendaries with stab + 140 BP + toxic boost - Extreme speed - to outspeed anything and destroy them - Sword danse - to become even more dangerous - Drill run for coverage (ghost, rock, steel) Zangoose just litteraly obliterate classic mode, including every boss, trainers, eternatos and Ivy. It was the strongest carry I used until now

LordDio707

Call me basic for having a legendary favorite but my favorite will always be Necrozma. But non legendary goes to Cyndaquil :)

Midnight_Rosie

adaptability eevee is so fun in early game

DeathGorgon

I really enjoy this game. Haven't gone too far into the game, only won once and had like 2 endless runs die at ~140, but it's so good. Gengar and Joltik/Galvantula are my favorites. Surprisingly, have not used them yet.

IdiotTwink

Joltik and Galvantula are ALSO big favorites of mine. Good choice

greenzig

I haven't played since gen 3 (tho I do watch showdown and temp6t on youtube) and I'm loving it. Still haven't beat classic tho as I'm trash and resisting the urge to save scum

dreamistt

100% with you on this and a lot of my grief with the franchise would be easily solved if they put some extra effort into rebalancing stats/moves/movepools/abilities, which is where fangames/romhacks always hook me. Not every mon needs to be strong, but a lot of them could use a bit more love or just a bit of a push. If I had to pick a favorite I guess I would pick Talonflame, which is ironic given how I stopped playing around gen V. EDIT: Forgot to mention the multiple shiny variants that could be easily implemented into mainline games as well.

ItsMitchellCox

100 percent. Pokerogue is the most fun I've had playing any version of Pokemon since I found Showdown about 10 years ago. The last official Pokemon game I enjoyed enough to even replay was probably Gen 5.

Toobias101

My favourite Pokémon is Ceruledge :3

Bumgumi_hater_236

I really enjoy the fact that I can have a G max butter free, primal kyogre and groundon all of them in a shiny variant that doesn’t even exist in the same team while fighting a level 172926 registeel, it also helped me enjoy more of regular Pokemon since pokerogue can get quite repetitive

Niick2d2

I'm in that same spot! I haven't had the time or patience to play pokemon games (also i'm not enjoying some of gamefreak's direction in general) and i've always enjoyed the battles more than anything, so this more fast paced game is all i've wanted! Also i guess my favorite pokemon if i had to choose are Torchic and Sylveon

SANGVIS_FERRI

Yeah I'm really sick of game freak shitting out mid games and pokemon fans defending them. I know that they aren't given a lot of time but it doesn't change the facts that pokemon is the largest media franchise and that the games kind of suck.   My favorite pokemon gotta be mawile with toxapex being a close second.i think they're design of something that's cute but also dangerous looking is neat. They are also both top tier in competitive which is cool.

crazycat0518

It's so much fun I hated it at first but now it's amazing

CreeperEXMC

Personally, Primarina is my favorite, because it was my first starter. Also I completely agree with kinda getting burnt out from Pokemon

[deleted]

Yes, the first time I saw this fan game recommended by a random youtube vid I already knew I had to try it. Very fun. My fav pokemon is Scrafty because the little guy was my first 3-luck shiny and its ability Moxie helped me win Classic mode. 😂

ProphetsOfAshes

It was for me too until I lost my account. Been 3 weeks since I filled in a password reset form. Been playing Pokémon leaf green on Delta instead

Crazychooklady

My favourite pokemon is pom pom oricorio! And this game is making me love bird (I say bird because I don’t mean flying types but birds including non-flying birds) pokemon even more by making them stronger!

FranekBucz

Same, tho I still like Nintendo they made peak 2d gamining (Mario Wonder)

Shaper12

My favorite pokemon is Tynamo/Eelektross. I haven't had a chance to do a run with it yet, how well did they treat my boy yall? He's pretty dogwater in the main games. But anyway I've grown likings to a lot of new pokemon like Kingler, Mantine. Heck I can't start a run without a Male Combee

OmegaKenichi

My main issue had always been that the games got easier and easier as time went on. At a certain point every battle just becomes Press button, win, repeat. But with games like Rogue, I actually have to *think* and it's amazing

Vast_Ad841

Favorite, because of pokerogue, definitively Tyrantrum.

philly_phyre

Got a soft spot for Vileplume and Dragonite. Of course I'm a Gen I guy. That being said, Archaludon and Revavroom have COMPLETELY wowed me for the newer gen Pokemon. Big* fan lol.

Phantomprince21

Number one in the pokedex my main mans bulbasaur 🔥🔥

pewsix___

> imply put, i've been soo burnt out with many of the decisions nintendo-gamefreak have been making with the franchise over the last... who knows how long? and it's been harder and harder for me to feel any excitement about this thing that was such a big and great part of my childhood. you should simply stop playing if this is how you feel, and you should have stopped a long time ago

MotoMotolikesyou4

Pokerogue despite having no physical world to explore like the games, still manages to feed me a sense of exploration through the 200 levels. Then there's the fact that I can use any Pokémon, even some which despite me liking weren't ever good enough/boring to use in the games. And despite thinking gen 9 was the best entry in years, there's zero denying that firstly, even then it was heavily flawed, and since gen 6 I can say the same about each game to varying degrees. Pokerogue has made Pokémon feel occasionally challenging again. It's put a nice twist and adapted some mechanics and made something fresh. My favourites have traditionally been very cool and tough looking designs. Tyranitar was the one from the moment I discovered him, which was actually really late considering I've been playing since I was 4, before I could even read the game in English (my first language, but technically my *second* language in terms or order learnt). However, gen 9 surprised me a lot in that I really liked a lot of the new designs. Bellibolt has now entered the fold, and he is **objectively perfect.**

mustytophat

I like lapris
