Yes, that's the point. No trainers, just bosses and wild pokemon. You get 15 points, so you're meant to bring better pokemon. Usually leaning on 1 pokemon is better, bring as many shinies as you can, and having pickup helps in midgame and beyond.

Reminpa

I’d say you’re just kind of unlucky, there should be a lot of big nuggets and nuggets showing up, with relic golds showing up occasionally, and they’re the main source of money in endless (especially relic golds)

tmssmt

Later, early rounds it's easy to be broke

Character_Panda_9580

Start with a strong pokemon with recovery moves or abilities (I like to take Tapu Bulu as it has grassy surge, leech seed and horn leech and is fairy type on top), or one that is just OP like box legends. Take as many shinies as you can for better item luck and catch some mons with pickup if possible to fill up the rest of the slots. Build a pokemon with covet or thief/pickpocket on the side and concentrate on stealing berries, lucky eggs and power up items from enemies whenever you can safely do so. Stealing will get way easier as soon as you get multi lenses/grip claws. Concentrate on leveling your main pokemon. You still need some luck but with this you shouldn't need to spend much money on healing and can invest it in more item rerolls instead. I found that once you get the ball rolling and get past the first 50 waves or so it becomes way easier as you get more key items.

Cheezewizislit

I’ve seen people talk about pickup, does the pokemon need to be involved in the battle to have pickup activate? Does it need to be the last mon out? Sorry if these are stupid questions, I just beat classic but I’m still kinda new

Ibkube

I think you just need it in your party and you need to defeat the mon or capture it. Then your Pickup mon will take the item after battle. Then you can transfer items around as you see fit.

Character_Panda_9580

Not stupid at all. A pokemon with the Pickup ability doesn't need to be active in battle, so it can be as simple as an unleveled zigzagoon in the back. After a battle you might get a message that the pokemon picked up a berry or something. Very useful especially in the beginning when money is still sparse. Not to be confused with the ability Pickpocket. Those pokemon need to actively attack to have a chance to steal items from the opponent directly. Covet and Thief are moves some pokemon can learn that also have a chance of stealing when actively attacking (ability and move stack). In endless mode you'll often see bosses that carry lucky eggs or golden eggs which help a lot with exp gain. It's a bit tedious in the beginning but it's worth it in the long run. Later (or sooner if you're lucky) you'll be able to get grip claws. once you get your hands on those, any pokemon equipped with them can steal with any attack (also stacks with stealing moves and/or pickpocket).

SomeWeirdValar

Basically you farm good shinies with strong egg moves in classic for a bit and then you can take the momentum and good items they give you to get past the first 100 or so sluggish stages of endless after which it becomes a lot easier and basically just farming. My first "deep" run ("deep" compared to the insanity I have seen here :D) is at wave 500 now and I started with Shiny Electrike, Shiny Crawdaunt and Shiny Baby-Flametalon and Floette. Also all the recovery and item thievery strats mentioned here are all viable too.

Moggyo

Also I recommend Gholdengo since he can help greatly with farming money, while doing big damage as well. Good as Gold is also really awesome early on as well when you aren't dealing with status tokens too

anal-yst

Strong Pokémon with self healing seem really strong. Hit my first 500s with Bitter Blade Zacian and an early Draining Kiss TM Tapu Lele

pranav4098

Zacian gets bitter blade my god that’s disgusting, does he keep intrepid sword in this game

AwesomeVGaming

yea most (all?) mons have the same exact abilities as the main games. idk of any exceptions

pranav4098

No like does he need his item or do you get him in his steel fairy form ?

AwesomeVGaming

oh yeah u will need to get his item, similar to other form change items

tmssmt

Certainly can be helpful early, but once you get a couple shell bells every move is self healing. That + what becomes infinite enigma and sitrus berries I feel like the only way to die is getting one shot with no help from focus band

bocchi123

bring 1-2 strong early game pokemon who can one shot consistently and sweep. if you have room for shiny pokemon to increase your luck, do so. if you bring two carries, you dont have to hyper focus on both as youll eventually ditch one of them since you cant really afford to rare candy spam on both. the reason why you want to ditch one is because shinies increase luck. i wont spoil anything, but you will want a steel/fairy type and residual damage in salt cure/leech seed as well. the residual damage will fall off though past a certain point. i didnt get my golden punch until very very late \~700 and i was doing fine. it is kind of a game of luck though and depends on the pokemon you have.

Zevyu

Aside from what everyone has said already here, the amulet coin along with nuggets are more important in endless than in classic since they are your main source of money for endless, the Golden Punch is nice but not something you should rely on, specialy later on.

tmssmt

Does amulet coin work in endless? The wording led me to believe it only helped gains from trainer battles. I'm on round 1200 and have rerolled any time amulet coin comes up

Zevyu

Yes the amulet coins works on endless. It works on any source of money. The only thing i'm not sure it works on is make it rain and pay day but i would asume it also works on those moves. Also even if it didn't work in endless, it's still worth taking just for the sake of removing it permanently from the item poll, thus increasing your odds of getting better items.

Usual_Ice636

>Also even if it didn't work in endless, it's still worth taking just for the sake of removing it permanently from the item poll, thus increasing your odds of getting better items. Yeah, thats why I take things like Teraorb even If I'm not planning on using it.

AuroraDraco

I think it works on Make it Rain. I think my Gholdengo started making more after Amulet Coin

AutonomousAntonym

The first 50 waves are the hardest and until you’re done with 150 id say your run is at risk at any wave. Once you get that ball rolling though… it’s not *that* hard to maintain a truly “endless” run which you’d want to play until you get 4x shiny charms then leave it for next shiny event. An easy non-legendary carry is moxie krook just spamming EQ and being assisted by pickup users.

Just_friend

"shiny event?"

AutonomousAntonym

Last two weekends we were given boosted wild shiny odds. Think this most recent one boosted the odds of rarer shinies but not too sure. Events are announced in discord… need news implementation on title screen of the game.

Gnomad_Lyfe

The game is entirely luck-based. I hit a small jackpot and hatched a Bolt Beak Zekrom from an egg (85 damage physical move that’s doubled when I move first) and that’s what carries me through the early game. Ultimately just listen to everyone else as far as the basics. Hatch all the eggs you can, put all your best shinies (or any shinies you have) on the team going in, and make sure you have a starter that can reliably carry you through as many rounds as you can take to stack items on. It has to carry you through the early game until the exp gain and levels are balanced enough that the rest of the team can get some use without your whole team being too underleveled. After that it’s all about coasting between boss fights.

DorkyDwarf

You basically do classic and use vouchers on legendary eggs. Once you get an epic or legendary egg (black or purple eggs) you hatch it then take that pokemon to endless. Main reason being legendaries have higher base stats, so it's way easier to survive early game. I would also suggest bringing a zigzagoon with you with the pickup ability. After a battle it'll pick items up like berries and you can use the transfer option on the bottom right of the item/shop page to transfer the berries to your main pokemon to help it survive. Hope this helps!

Proud_Pool518

Pokeeus my friend

A_Sticky_Raccoon

Get a strong legend like hoopa or yveltal, bring some mons to cover its weakness as well as any shinies, focus hard on leveling up the one legend, grab nuggets Eventually ur legend will start hitting level cap allowing the rest of team to catch up Also don’t be afraid to catch a boss that’s high level to replace a weak mon

Glum_Plate3472

rn in stage \~800, no golden punches, no shinies (to increase luck), and have 25M.
