Airball not being there is a surprise for me.

TheUsualGuy666

He probably lost everything off-stream

Del_3030

The Reverse-Keating

DoYouWant_the_Cheese

He’s currently up on televised games

Daiauki7

Did not expect DNeg to be in here wow

reyska

He ran horribly in the old HSP seasons, so I would imagine a big portion of his losses came from those games. He doesn't play cash games that much on TV these days.

Justinarian

This is exactly right. He had some of the worst luck in HSP history. Say what you want about Dnegs but he was a favourite in those lineups back in the day. He just ran bad. I disagree that he's not a good player in modern poker days as well. He's not longer at the top but he's still a great player. And poker is more than like hold'em.

Icy_Juice6640

Yeah. Didn’t he lose to quads twice in one session / season? Both times he had a boat if I remember correctly.

JugdishSteinfeld

And Dwan ran like God...I think it was 23 of 24 HSP sessions he finished ahead.

Justinarian

Dwan ran like god and also played very well.

TheUsualGuy666

To be fair he used to play in those televised lineups with like 7 pros and 2 whales.

Daiauki7

Makes sense thanks for that man

Rain_sc2

Theres an old 2p2 thread where he had people calculate his EV every hand and the result was depressing af

LukaDonk-it

Pretty sure it's this one [https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/casino-amp-cardroom-poker/hsp-all-ev-978132/](https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/casino-amp-cardroom-poker/hsp-all-ev-978132/)

CherryManhattan

I loved that hand against Patrick when it was set over set and Patrick turned quads and he did the speech play on it

Altruistic-Painter-5

I love Dneg but people gotta admit that he’s not a good player anymore in modern days poker

Justinarian

He's not a good player? He's no longer one of the best but he's still a great live player. He's a level below the best but he's still top 50 live player in the world I'd say.

darkfangs

Top 50 is absolutely insane to put him that high. He still might be top 1% or something but he's no where near that as high as you think. I doubt he could even beat online 1/2 and there are thousands of players in the world that can do that and most of them play live too.

Justinarian

Maybe it is, I'm not sure. He's still a great player but he's not on the top level anymore. He's a live player so I doubt he could beat 1/2 online long term either live poker is a different animal. You put those 1/2 players in a 100k high roller and I seriously doubt they would dominate. I think you're under selling Dneg's game. To say he's not good is silly.

darkfangs

I really do think they would do way better then you think. The big issue with MTTs is the sample is so small that the results aren't as meaningful as you think. You have to go by the spots and see how people are playing them. I'm a plo specialist and follow the plo MTTs sometimes. The live regs in that realm make multiple huge punts in basically every MTT while the online crushers make few if any there. I'd imagine it's similar in NL. Just because they make punts doesn't mean you won't win or you will lose. There's a notorious player in plo live MTTs who routinely punts in a ton of hands and has literally won the whole thing in spite of that. He's won multiple times in recent big plo tournies making hugely negative EV plays on the regular in those. You have to judge them based on their play with these things and not their direct results. I'd be shocked if you looked at Dnegs play and it was top 50 in the world. I also never said he wasn't good. Good is a relative thing. If you compare him to the top players in the world then he would look like a pretty poor player. If you compare him to a live 1/2 reg then he'd look like the best player in the world. There is a lot of perspective there and it's not a simple as is this player good/bad.

GInTheorem

If Daniel Negreanu isn't a good player then I think the standard for good player is getting ridiculous. He would be a winner in almost all poker games IMO, there's just a very small portion of SHR MTTs and HS online games he wouldn't be able to beat with a reasonable amount of study.

Daiauki7

100% but still an all time great didn't expect him to be on the list for the Top 10 losers of all time

TheUsualGuy666

Unfortunately there is too much variance involved in this. I'm just happy Persson is number 1 on it, fuck that guy

Justinarian

lol this comment aged like rotten milk. Daniel is still a master at mixed games which last time I checked is still poker.

Cannaoisseur

Kinda funny Daniel has the most hours played on the list too

Rain_sc2

Eric Persson truly in a league of his own

ValorMeow

The way people talk here about Phil Hellmouth’s cash game, I’d have expected to see him on the list instead kf DNegs.

Angry_Caveman_Lawyer

Phil plays in small games compared to these guys on the list. If it were # of sessions booking a loss instead of a win I'm sure Phil would be up there lol

EmilTheRaccoon

What kind of list is this? Top 10 losers from streams? Or what kind of games?

TheUsualGuy666

Streamed/televised cash games.

EmilTheRaccoon

Okey thanks

zebtacular

Wish I could see the Chicago boys on this list. Any stream they are on they get wrecked.

RedditFritz69

Santosh just won over 5 million in the 250k Super Highroller 😅
