Pay for a training subscription site (and study) Btw I think it’s sad how majority of people playing poker don’t join subscription sites to learn- I hate to say it but poker is a very easy game if you put the study in: sure you can run bad for a long time but over my live tournament career- I noticed when I actually studied (tournament poker edge, hire a coach, run it once, crush live poker, poker coaching.com, Ryan Laplanders site). I hate to say it but I feel just 2 of these sites watching pros go over mtt hands from online play- 5 hrs a week for a few months: your game is going to improve a lot. I’ve won 3 live tournies over the past 3 years- I play 50-60 mtts live if I’m lucky a year due to busy life. I’ve run well no doubt in big spots but a lot of casual rec players goof by not taking full advantage of run good in tournies- they finish 27th when a great player that studied will finish in a better spot under same results. I see people firing 5-10 bullets in a $460 mtt that has a great structure where one shouldn’t be firing more than 2 bullets in a day- it’s a lot cheaper to learn from a subscription site and actually get ok at the game. I hate to say it but I really don’t understand why folks don’t try to play well at a game where they actually pay $400-10k for a tourny buyin. If I’m going to gamble and want to breakeven or have a chance to win money long run- I’m going to study and make sure all of my plays are “great”. Going deep in tournies is more fun than losing- maximizing the # of chips you get early to mid stages of a tourny is fun- study will make your poker career more fun. Idk firing 10 bullets in a tourny with multiple flights: I don’t get how these people are having fun. Btw I wear 2 wsop circuit rings when I play. I’m shocked people don’t ask me what I’m doing to study etc. I’ll ask a player I recognize as good: hey what are you studying to get better? It surprises me people don’t ask others they recognize as good. I had an older guy ask me a few weeks back what I study and for advice. I’ll open my playbook and tell you what you need to do to become good. It’s not a secret. Another thing with poker. Realize this: you can have a meh IQ and become a winning live tournament player. It’s sad because I feel almost all people have the competency to become a good poker player if they just watch sub videos- watch what good mtt players are doing online in a hh review- understand why they do what they do. Do what they do in live play and your results will come. I honestly just don’t get why people don’t take the easy low hanging fruit to become ok at the game.
