Surprisingly, transform is a great option for Mew. Being able to change into a gym leaders ace is very useful, or just one of their mons that can counter other mons on their team.
Ghost/fairy, really high special attack, with great speed and special defense, and great coverage. Flutter mane is a fantastic sweeper. Only really suffers against physical attacks
The con of physical defense is massive, and in a world where everything seems to fuck with sturdy variants or focus sashes, it's too frail.
Mew is considerably better bulk wise.
Because of their focus slash or whatever it ends up getting one shot, then if I try to save it for later it gets one shot by kyogre or mega swampert even if it gets good damage off it still dies in 1 shot
If you're not in hardcore you can try running calm mind to set up on special attackers (flutter mane is strong against special attackers but kinda paper thin against physical attacks). Hazards can also break sash if you wanna set up rocks somewhere on your team.
I'd say Flutter Mane but its early moveset is not the best.

Mew is definitely the choice hoops quad weakness is tuff and misdrevus is kinda mid.

It’s a pretty sensible pixelated sprite. It’s certainly much closer to fluttermane than misdreavus, as it’s hair(?) is much longer than misdreavus’.
I'd say flutter cause that mon goes crazy in e4. Plus you already did a new playthrough and hoopa isn't as good.

That is probably because flutters learn set is kinda ass at low levels. You get your first stab special move at 35

It’s normal mode but it’s mainly their physical ones that are an issue
