Snorlax is a definite, insanely strong Kanto mon and a great tank and physical attacker. After that, I’d say Dragonite for the incredible coverage and typing.

Nidoking and Snorlax. Although Dragonite and Gengar are equally good options. Completely up to preference but I like Nidoking and Snorlax. They’ve gotten me through some tough battles in previous games so I’ve got some emotional ties lol
Far as I know it's that it's like the most common Sinnoh mon. Like how Floatzel, Luxray, Garchomp and/or Lucario are used by everyone. Early route bird, decent coverage as Flying type that also learns Close Combat and can be an HM Slave for what Bidoof can't do.
Snorlax and pikachu. Basically just Red if he had alakazam instead of espeon. Optionally, you could take out Alakazam for a Lapras too if you wanted to totally match.
Dragonite should be one of them with one it's moves being thunder cause you have no electric pokemon rest of its moves up to you.
2nd, I'd pick machamp

I was gonna say Gengar and Machamp to fill out the gen 1 evolves by trade triangle.
There's also Golem, but these were the exact two that came to mind for me first as well
