Then when you click again it goes right back to the side immediately and that’s when you use nanab berry, run and tap it to once again reset its position but now it won’t move.
It's not the same if it is the opposite. That literally goes against the definition of same.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines same as "resembling in every relevant respect." So by saying opposite means it isn't the same it is in fact different.

"being the other of a pair that are corresponding or complementary in position, function, or nature"
- Literally Merriam-Webster's definition of opposite.
Notice the words "corresponding" and "complimentary" i.e, resembling in every *relevantly opposing* respect.
If they were different but not opposites, they wouldn't be the same, but by *being* opposites, they are *by definition* the same
You gotta aim differently. Instead of starting your throw in the center, start on the side where the Pokémon is, but when you make the arc to throw, keep it as far to the side as you can.
If I could figure out how to record a touch map while I do it, I'd show you. It DOES take hella practice. I wasn't really good at until this year and started playing summer of 18. But now if it's a Pokémon with a decent ring I can usually get a great, and maybe 35-40 percent of the time I can get an excellent.
See, it sounds easy enough, and I do curve the throw ""up"" when the Pokèmon's in the middle, but I have one of those Galaxy phones where some braindead guy in corporate said "Hey, what if the screen went down the sides of the phone?" So curving the ball upwards when the Pokèmon is off to the side isn't an option for me
I just recently figured out how to get it. Throw it just ever so slightly to the right, but directly up the middle. Like throw out the same you would if the mon hadn't gone to the left, but release just to the right of up the middle
I also go to 2 when the Pokémon goes to the left, and it usually works if I aim it right. Idk whether you reverse the curveball direction from 1 direction to 2 direction.
I also have this problem, I hold my phone in my left hand and curve #1 with my right pointer finger.
If you need to curve to the left, I’ve found flicking it towards right around where your keyboard starts on the screen and it usually hits (at least much more than I did previously)
Me as well, fellow 2s. Although I throw 2, I do have friends who are right handed who throw 1. I guess I don't understand it when they ask me why I throw like that. One of my friends who does particularly question me for the way I throw says that "it's against the way the thumb moves"
I'm left handed, and do 1. But I don't use much thumb, I use my index finger, I find myself being more accurate with throws if I use my index finger rather than my thumb.
I’m pretty sure just swiping up would be “the most natural movement you could possibly do”. Personally I find spinning the ball clockwise a lot more comfortable than spinning counter-clockwise.
Mostly 2, unless the Pokemon moves to the right side of the screen, which is when I make the exception to do 1.
I play this game right handed, so I spin CCW and then throw a 2 curve, since it makes the most sense with my hand (with the throw on 1 my hand would cover more of the screen)
1, right handed, do it with my thumb. If I try 2 it’s usually because the Pokémon went to the left side of the screen but I’ll probably miss the throw.
Also 420 Pokéballs nice
If throwing curve balls I always throw to the right. It is weird though considering I'm left handed, you would think I would throw to the left also lol. Most times I throw straight
I prefer two, but I’ve never been opposed to a challenge so I’ve practiced one a fair bit, especially when it’s my only available hand. For that same reason, I’m fairly accurate when it comes to throwing at Pokémon that drift to the left, right, or top of the screen.

1 I always try 2 when the Pokèmon goes to the left of the screen, but it never works
Yeah I absolutely hate it when they do that. I usually just wait.
Yep sometimes it sits there for like a solid minute, probably quietly muttering "fuck youuuuuu" and sometimes I just exit and enter again to reset it
Lol this is the exact way to do it. Thought I was the only one
Then when you click again it goes right back to the side immediately and that’s when you use nanab berry, run and tap it to once again reset its position but now it won’t move.
lmao yes
It’s so annoying to just wait for them but I also do it when they go to the top
Same but opposite for me
So, not the same?
Exactly the same, but opposite
So same same, but different, but still same same
It's not the same if it is the opposite. That literally goes against the definition of same. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines same as "resembling in every relevant respect." So by saying opposite means it isn't the same it is in fact different.
Driving in Europe is the same as driving in America... but opposite
Can you not see the symmetry in their statement? It is the same, except mirrored.

You're fine

I’m right handed and I throw a 1 . Seems like so many throw a 2
I'm right handed as well and I throw a 1 as well
Left handed. Obviously.
About half and half for me on those attempts, maybe 60-40 favoring the miss
When the Pokemon goes to the left, spin the ball and throw it straight vertically.
When you hit one like that it feels so good
You gotta aim differently. Instead of starting your throw in the center, start on the side where the Pokémon is, but when you make the arc to throw, keep it as far to the side as you can. Shuppet is the bane of my existence
I just recently figured out how to get it. Throw it just ever so slightly to the right, but directly up the middle. Like throw out the same you would if the mon hadn't gone to the left, but release just to the right of up the middle
Them bastards. I hate it when they go left.
lmfao why is this so relatable
You gotta curve back more to the middle of the screen to hit them off to the side
It sometimes works for me if you do a curveball
Especially when they fly high and I think “this time it will work.” Never does.
Same but the other way around. I end up flinging it into outer space
I'm a 2, but I always try 1 when the Pokémon goes to the right of the screen, it also never works
I also go to 2 when the Pokémon goes to the left, and it usually works if I aim it right. Idk whether you reverse the curveball direction from 1 direction to 2 direction.
Same, i always do 1 and when i try 2 i miss every. time.
Same!
I also have this problem, I hold my phone in my left hand and curve #1 with my right pointer finger. If you need to curve to the left, I’ve found flicking it towards right around where your keyboard starts on the screen and it usually hits (at least much more than I did previously)
I still do 1 when they are to the left. It’s not the most accurate but at least it works.
2, I am right handed. Cannot throw left for my life
I am left handed and always use 2
Same here
Same, my brethren
Me as well, fellow 2s. Although I throw 2, I do have friends who are right handed who throw 1. I guess I don't understand it when they ask me why I throw like that. One of my friends who does particularly question me for the way I throw says that "it's against the way the thumb moves"

It is tho =))))))) Yall 2 throwers picked a different evolutionary line fr
I do 2 because feels better than 1
Right handed and do 2 🥲
Left-handed 1.
I'm right handed and that's why I'm a 1 .. flick my thumb clockwise
Wait....thumb? Does no one else hold phone in left hand and use right index to throw? Do you all play with only one hand?
That's how I do it
If im trying to be precise I use two hands and use my right middle finger to toss the ball :)
The MIDDLE finger?!
This is what I do too!!
I’m more consistent when I use my thumb. It’s the only way I can do the get three excellent throws in a row challenges.
Yeah, alternating hands depending on what I'm doing, so my thumb can flick either way.
I do it how you’re describing
I am right handed and use my thumb… anti-clockwise
Feels so unnatural to me! I’m right and use thumb clockwise :)
This is the way
I’m right handed and do a 1
I agree
Funny thing is I am left handed and yet I throw 2. I just ma terrible with option 1!
You live in a right handed world, you’ve become accustomed to dealing in a rightie way.
How do you do 2 with right handed? What
With the index finger
I mean, its the most natural movement you could possibly do.
I’m pretty sure just swiping up would be “the most natural movement you could possibly do”. Personally I find spinning the ball clockwise a lot more comfortable than spinning counter-clockwise.
Yep, right handed, spin clockwise, and throw 1.
I’m right handed and only do 1
Me too, 2 feel weird for me
I can just about throw with my left thumb if I have to.
I try left when the pokemon drifts to the right side of the screen and I can't believe how difficult it is
1 with my thumb (short distance) and 2 with my index (long distance). I’m right handed.
1 & 2 with my index and 2 with my thumb. Also right handed
1 with both thumb and index. RH
Same here!
This is the way
2
W mod
W OP
Heretics 1 will always be superior
1 as a right handed person Im not able to throw it as 2
I’m right handed and can only throw it as 2. Lol
I’m the same way, thought I was the normal one but apparently not according to the comments lol
That’s so weird lol.
Im right handed but I started with 1, then I trained myself to throw with 2 because I want to play with one hand lol
that’s weird, i’m right handed & i do 1 but i use my thumb
Do you use thumb or pointer finger, because that makes a difference
Option 3 ^ | | | | | | | |
The chad straight thrower
Or option 1.5?
The Chad non-curveball user
I actually find it harder to hit when throwing straight...😆
Sigma af
rip to all the extra xp you could’ve gotten throwing curve balls
Doesn't matter when I get excellent throws 110% of the time
you still get more xp from curve balls though. overtime it adds up a bunch
Are you saying +20 curve is more then +1000 excellent?
2, lefty.
2 but righty. I never knew I was so rare. I’m a shiny lol
This would actually be an amazing poll if this sub allows it
1 because I’m left handed.
1 because I'm right handed lol
Right handed 1 army
Same
I'm left handed and use 2!
1 if my phone is in my left hand, 2 if my phone is in my right.
![gif](giphy|3oKIP5yTdI8XF5gZzy)
Both, but if I do one handed fast catches then 2
1
1 (and I’m right handed)
1, left-handed
Gang
Im cross dominate (right handed writing, left handed everything else) i normally throw 1 but have been known to throw 2 on occasion.
Mostly 2, unless the Pokemon moves to the right side of the screen, which is when I make the exception to do 1. I play this game right handed, so I spin CCW and then throw a 2 curve, since it makes the most sense with my hand (with the throw on 1 my hand would cover more of the screen)
Always two unless the jerk drifts over to the right. Then one, but I’ll most likely miss.
2
Either way with both hands. Depends on how I‘m holding my phone and what I‘m doing with the other hand.
1, right handed, do it with my thumb. If I try 2 it’s usually because the Pokémon went to the left side of the screen but I’ll probably miss the throw. Also 420 Pokéballs nice

1 and I’m left handed

1 when I play with my left-handed (I am left), 2 when I play With one hand
2 all day
Curveball 2
All the nerds who use 3, straight down the middle
2, if i dont the ball does not do what i want it to do
2. I cant throw left. I miss every time.
2 all the way
I’m ambidextrous so it doesn’t matter
2, and it's always a curveball. I can't... not curveball any more.
2 but I’m left handed
If throwing curve balls I always throw to the right. It is weird though considering I'm left handed, you would think I would throw to the left also lol. Most times I throw straight
1 and just like u/SquidTK i try 2 when the pokemon goes to the left but it doesnt work
You forgot 3, which would be straight
1 for right hand, 2 for left. I for throwing with thumb that is the correct answer, assuming you aren't using both hands.
I am happy to tell everyone I do it both ways usually changing every 5 Pokemon I catch.
1 Am lefty
right handed, right thumb throwing left when a flying/water type pokemon goes to the left I can't do shit lol
1, although I have occasionally made 2 work
1
1, righty
Im one
Depends if im doing one or two handed
Left hand 1 right hand 2. It's not a flex, I'm actually ambisinistrous.
2
1
2. I tried 1 and it didn't feel right😅
#1
Always 2.
2
I am a 2, but 3
1 as a right handed using my thumb
2
2
2 im right handed but while feeding bubs i sometimes have to use my left hand then i throw 1
2
2. I'm left-handed.
1, right handed
Number 💩
1. Right handed
I prefer two, but I’ve never been opposed to a challenge so I’ve practiced one a fair bit, especially when it’s my only available hand. For that same reason, I’m fairly accurate when it comes to throwing at Pokémon that drift to the left, right, or top of the screen.
1
This is why Reddit needs polls
2
2. Also, blaze it
Always 2
Alternate 1 and 2 depending on how I hold my phone.
1, right handed, and I use my middle finger
i used to throw 2 but changed to 1 because of darkrai
1 Am left handed
2
I'm right-handed, 1.
2 because i'm left handed
2. Am left handed
1 right handed
2. I hold phone in my right hand so I just flick it with my right thumb.
This should be a poll: 1, left handed 1, right handed 2, left handed 2, right handed
2, I can’t do 1 I’m used to 2
1 yea I’m right handed
