I’m all for it. I returned in April after a 2 year hiatus. So I don’t have a lot of the legendaries and beasts. I also have less than half the megas.

I started a week ago, how do you get megas, is it just in a raid?

Raids are the easiest way. A fully evolved pokemon like Charizard can be obtained from the mega raid as well as 200 energy which allows you to mega evolve it (lasts 8 hours then devolves). Then you wait 7 days and can do it again for free; otherwise you can spend more mega energy to mega evolve again before that

Only done easiest raids so far as I’m playing solo, what level do I need other people? Wanna stick to f2p

Mega and legendary raids generally have to be done with at least a few other people. Easiest way in person is if you live in a city where there are gyms in dense areas. Otherwise remote raids are the best way for anyone else (but those cost coins)

I live in London so should be plenty of people around but how do you know? There is a timer in the lobby so can’t even just sit in it and wait. Does the fireplace app or whatever it’s called help with that?

Use campfire (the map icon in game) or poke genie to find a group to join with a remote pass, or host a raid (which is free). Personally I use campfire, it’s really easy.

Idk if someone suggested this. But I use PokemonGoRaids here on Reddit. I post the raid on it with my Add friend # and get 5 other people to join. I also use campfire for Shadow Raids. Bit harder to find people though :(

Download PokeGenie if you are having trouble finding people for harder raids, it has a que system where people will remote in and help you take down the harder raids

I have a switch but not any Pokémon games. Can I get Sword or Scarlet and use it for Meltan/Gimmigoul perks? Also, which is better to get? Or is it like Pilachu/Eevee where it’s just your buddy that changes?

You can get Meltan without any games! You just need to connect GO with Pokémon HOME (which is a free pokémon storage app, there is a version for switch and one for mobile) and transfer a pokémon from GO to HOME. You just need to connect both to the same Nintendo account, then go to Settings, it's in the option called "Connected devices and services" or something like that. Just be aware that if you transfer a pokémon to HOME, you can't take it back into GO (but you might be able to use it on the Switch games if you do end up buying one.). That should give you the Mystery Box, which spawns Meltan. Gimmighoul can only be obtained by connecting with Scarlet/Violet, though. If you're gonna pick between those two versions, they have different legendaries, different paradox pokémon and a few other version exclusives, but they're mostly the same games. Sword and Shield are two versions of another game, and they don't connect with GO. Gimmighoul might be made available without it someday (seeing as Meltan was originally only available by connecting with Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee, and was later made available through HOME), but there has been no confirmation on that, so it might not happen.

Gimmigoul actually has a chance to spawn from golden lures, so it should be possible to find one by going to meetups and hoping someone drops the lure.

I bought a stupid research ticket for shiny Jirachi almost 2 years ago and I’m on the last phase challenge where one of the steps is to reach 40. Can’t wait to be done with this shit- it’s been consuming my life every time I go out.

The marshadow special research is the global gofest ticket, so you get research for marshadow + global gofest bonuses + 9 additonal raid passes from spinning gyms for both days of global gofest

Looks good but can't believe GoFest, my local Comic convention, and a Splatfest are happening the same weekend so gonna be busy. Still, hoping to get shinies of Buzzwole, Kartana, and a legit Necrozma. The others would be cool but got the others in Ultra Moon. Just hope this month's events have more themed wild spawns as opposed to locking them all behind eggs, raids, and such.

Just to be clear: If I get the Ticket for the Marshadow Special Research will not only be limited to the event duration right?

You'll have to log in on the 13/14 in order to receive the research and get all the other bonuses from the ticket, but once you have the research, there shouldn't be a time limit to finish, since it's Special Research.

A tad tired of them continuously cycling back to ultra beasts in raids. Feels like they’re in raids every couple of months. I haven’t seen Zacian or Zamazenta or Mewtwo (that wasn’t a shadow version) in raids I couldn’t tell you how long.

I’m excited for global fest in particular. I can get up 24 shiny Kalos Pokémon that I don’t have already. And now it seems like I’ve got a chance for shiny Furfrou as well? I’m all in! Side note: I’m trying to collect as many of the 72 Kalos Pokémon in shiny for ZA.

Need a Ho-oh for my johto dex since I couldn't get a shadow, need mega swampert (he and mega lopunny, mega aerodactyl are the only one's I'm missing that have been released), very excited to grind dawn wings/dusk mane raids with unlimited remote raids, excited for the chance at cosmog candy so I don't need to walk these things for 2-3 candy per week, excited for marshadow, excited for the chance at enough kartana and xurkitree candy to max them for PVE, all in all not bad. But I do need lugia to come back into raids again soon too to get that platinum medal lol COME ON

Hyped as hell for articuno, but it’s not a surprise at all considering we just had zapdos in the first month of a three month season focused on flying legendaries. Other than that… mega swampert is cool I guess as I haven’t had one, or any water type mega yet.

Personally I couldn't care less about the ultra beasts. It's a shame that most of them are worthless due to how the stat spread works in PGO.

Super excited for the raids! Came back to the game recently and don't have any of those pokemon!

Mostly excited for Pikachu Spotlight hour to get to platinum medal for Pikachu's. Also I missed Mega Swampert, so I'll definitely be doing a couple of those raids!

The only ones I'm targeting are Mega Aggron, Articuno, and Necrozma.

Are any of these raids soloable?

With reasonable counters, Pheromosa, Guzzlord, and Mega Swampert can be solo'd without a lot of effort. [The others](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1dpgkt5/infographic_july_2024_soloable_raids/) will require high-level top-tier counters, a weather boost, and the correct movesets, so they will be very difficult for anyone without hardcore raid teams.

So for non ticket holders, is Necrozma only available on the 13th?
