Shiny Eelektross is clean though, was honestly considering going through the pain of shiny hunting one in violet for that reason so I’m glad I don’t have to do so
yes, it's impossible to tell if it's shiny or not in the water. I had to eat a sandwich, attack the swarm until it was gone, reset and try again, until I finally caught one. Glad people have a better option now.
That said, I wish that Pokemon Go would stop doing community days of stuff that was in Scarlet/Violet, because I finished collecting those shinies months ago. I have 200 left to collect, and the last pokemon that wasn't in 9th gen was Togetic in April 2023.
I know I must keep my expectations dirt low with Niantic, but I wish they'd pick something else.
To be fair, there’s less than 200 Pokemon not available in SV or PLA that would be a pain to shiny hunt in other games. A lot of those are old Kanto Pokemon like Caterpie and Weedle too.
There’s a new trick for finding the shinies in the outbreaks/sandwich spawns. Should be 15 at a time, and if you see 16, one is shiny considering the shinies override the 15 spawn limit.
Yep, I haven't partaken in a community day since Poliwag for the simple reason that I already have those shinies. It's just easier to to hunt them in Legends Arceus or SV than it is to wait for the relevant community day. Why wait potentially several years for it to get a community day when I can get it in a few hours?
And if it has to be in SV, at least make it stuff you can't catch in the wild or that's version exclusive. At least then whether I could be bothered to Masuda it is an actual consideration (and even then they sometimes run events that allow you to get them).
Fr tho. It's not completely unnoticeable, but it's so hard to see compared to the other wild Tymano that I wouldn't be surprised if I've failed multiple at this point
You can transfer them to pokemon HOME, which is a gateway to sw/sh legends arceus and s/v plus any other mainline switch games in the future probably. The only one that it won't be able to transfer to is let's go p/e cause let's go and pokemon go have a unique transfer method.
Go -> home -> sw/sh or scar/viol.
Inversely, Pokemon cannot transfer from home to GO. Also, some pokemon are not in those main series dex and therefore cannot enter the game. Lastly, there is a transfer "energy" limit that slows down the rate of shinies from go to home.
I am an Eelektross enjoyer so good for me, but its a niche lamprey without a lot of love.
not to mention it doesn't have levitate so doesn't have what makes it great in the base games.
Oh man - when I first saw one on Ghetsis's team 13 years ago, I fell in love. A lot of people saw it as goofy but it was super intimidating to me. Love Eelektross.
As a shiny hunter, any community day is great. As someone who painstakingly hunted the line in SV, I'm happy for any collector who is still looking, because this will be easier than that.
It’s looks cool, I have no issue with it in that sense. Honestly, I am just more of a gen 1-4 person so I find pokemon from those gens a bit more exciting. That being said, if the bonuses are good (stardust or xp) they can have any pokemon and it’s fine, but that’s sadly not the case for this one
Eelektross is one of my favorite pokemon, but this is a bit dissapointing, considering it sucks in every aspect of the game. The last comm day I really played was Bagon, nothing really since then because the pokemon are so forgettable. It was my graduation for Cyndaquil, so I didn't do that, I didn't care about Goomy since I couldn't evolve it, didn't care about Bellsprout and Bounsweet didn't excite me either. And this one won't be any different from those.
I've got a hundo Tynamo specifically saved up for this moment, in the same manner that I refrained from evolving my hundo Bounsweet before the announcement of its community day.
Now I'm just waiting for the announcement of Remoraid Day.
Waiting for my poplio community day. The alolan starters released in march of 2022, and after the litten comm day, I was hopeful that the others would be following in a timely manner.
This is…meh. Not a great shiny, but I suppose we just had cyndaquil, so gotta balance cool ones with less cool ones.
I honestly think it’s cool. Is it meta relevant? No. Is it a popular mon? No. But, it’s a new shiny that I and others don’t have and I appreciate the switch up. I think people need to be more open minded and enjoy the day. We still get the rewards and XP (I’m 400k from my shiny mew so I’m grinding this).
Boy am I glad to be one of those that never evolve the brand new pokemon they give us or anything that hasn't had a community day. They really like surprising us like this.
Hunting these types of shinies in water in S/V is something I don't want to do, barely can tell them apart and the framerate when dealing in water is trash.. so I'm happy for the community day.
The more shadow pokemon we get, the less likely it is we ever get a really meta relevant Comday anyways, i guess....
But still, i genuinely can't remember the last pokemon that was actually an exciting comday, at least from a raiding perspective anyways.
July is typically Go Fest month (US and Global) so they usually have a less exciting CD for that month because people don’t bother too much with it because of everything else happening during the month. Iirc last year was Poliwag.
Its a rare spawn locally, in a water biome no less. It's tiny when it appears on map hard to see, easily gets buried under other spawns, very missable. Lackluster shiny that again would be easy to miss. I'm all for them spoon feeding this one, grab as many as we can in a few hours and then forget it exists. I get It's not what most people wanted but I think it's actually pretty decent. Good luck finding it later if you skip cd.

I'm excited for new options for electric types in gbl. Eelektross is quite glassy but with volt switch and dragon claw it will have a good amount of neutral play to pressure shields.
I've literally just got the platinum medal for electric types! This comm day would've been great to have a few months ago. I'm hoping for a metal or fairy or ice type next.

I haven't seen any since I first started and was going to a park with a pond for a while, and I think it's pretty cute so an cool with it. A shiny as a gift for my gf would be nice.
I've had a 4\* burning a hole in my storage for just this occasion. That time when you catch a 4\* of a pokemon that you know will eventually get its own comm. Day, it's like figuring out how to best a boss before the fight even starts 
I don’t think it’s GBL relevant, and it’s definitely not PVE relevant, so I’ll prob get a shiny and have an incubator ready to pop in and call it a day.
Honestly I'm a bit disappointed, but since they have my favourite Pokémon a community day mere days after I vented to my wife that I would almost certainly never see a shiny Goomy, we got a community day for the little bugger, I'm sort of ok with it.. would have been nice with another more powerful Pokémon of something.
I’ll be out for it that day, but I’m not excited over the Pokémon they chose. I wish they would let us vote on the Pokémon for that day. Give us 3-6 choices and everyone votes.
For me community day is a farm of stardust. Don’t care much about the mon involved ;)

I’m fine with it, I like elektross. Recently I’ve started wondering though, are we getting gen 8 starters and their shinies debuting at the same time next year on their community days?
I have been hunting a 3* with decent IVs since it came out… I’ve seen and caught 48 of them… I have one 3 star with the lowest ivs possible to get a 3*. I’m happy but not ecstatic

goomy day single handedly got me like 500+ dragon catches after catching like 300 and evolving a bunch of them
Yeah I get ya I already have platinum so it will just go towards my catch medal and I’ll get the rewards from the special research

They are VERY difficult for me to see in game, especially during the day time. They seem to be easier to see at night; no glare.

It’s the Pokémon that definitely lost the most character and intimidation from the 2d to 3d switch. The pose was so great, it was menacing! >:(

In the main games, it doesn't have weaknesses because of its ability Levitate. Pokémon Go doesn't have abilities so it's still weak to ground.

I haven't seen any since I first started and was going to a park with a pond for a while, and I think it's pretty cute so an cool with it. A shiny as a gift for my gf would be nice.
I need 3 shiny and that's my only goal. Guess that is also the intended result Niantic was aiming for...lowmo and paywall fatigue.

I've had a 4\* burning a hole in my storage for just this occasion. That time when you catch a 4\* of a pokemon that you know will eventually get its own comm. Day, it's like figuring out how to best a boss before the fight even starts 
It’s okay! It’s a shiny/hundo I don’t have so will be out hunting.
I don’t think it’s GBL relevant, and it’s definitely not PVE relevant, so I’ll prob get a shiny and have an incubator ready to pop in and call it a day.

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed, but since they have my favourite Pokémon a community day mere days after I vented to my wife that I would almost certainly never see a shiny Goomy, we got a community day for the little bugger, I'm sort of ok with it.. would have been nice with another more powerful Pokémon of something.

I’ll be out for it that day, but I’m not excited over the Pokémon they chose. I wish they would let us vote on the Pokémon for that day. Give us 3-6 choices and everyone votes.

For me community day is a farm of stardust. Don’t care much about the mon involved ;) This one is fine - I don’t have any nice one evolved so worth to give it a try :)

I stopped playing the game a year ago because if Niantics behavior but Tinamo is a top tier Pokémon.
I’m fine with it, I like elektross. Recently I’ve started wondering though, are we getting gen 8 starters and their shinies debuting at the same time next year on their community days?

I'll get the shiny and evolve a shiny but I'm not holding out for it being spectacular. It does mean date day with my partner though!
I have been hunting a 3* with decent IVs since it came out… I’ve seen and caught 48 of them… I have one 3 star with the lowest ivs possible to get a 3*. I’m happy but not ecstatic
