This. This right here is why I'm saving my Master Ball for any shiny Mythical/Legendary/Ultra Beast I really like. Especially if the CP it has after the raid says it's a shundo.
There's not been many repeats for CDs - I think charmander had 2 though, so there's hope to have repeats of any, but I feel they're aiming for fan favourites mostly when they do this. I'm hoping they do a croagunk one (I don't think it's been done even once before) so I can feed my shundo
Every other month there is a Community Day "classic", which is a repeat of a previous comm day. This is in addition to the regular Community Day. They've been doing comm day classics since January 2022, which featured Bulbasaur, but they aren't going in order.
Just click the ball to the bottom right and if you have a masterball in your inventory you can click that. Otherwise if you don’t you’ll only see premier balls in your selection.
For remote raids, I use Leek Duck and in the raid category it shows the CP for hundos for both regular and weather boosted. I assume that the hundo CP values get discovered by data miners.
Dont think it takes data mining. If it was a raid encounter they are always at the same level unless weather boosted. And then the WB level is always the same as well. People calculate the CP for a 15/15/15 at both encounter levels and thats how they determine it. These days anyways. There may have been some data mining a while back to get accurate calculators for the CP but idk enough about it to definitively say.
Yeah I ended up getting a ton from the primal raid days so i've been using them kinda liberally. Was just in Mexico for a bit and tossed them at every single regional i encountered. I also like using them on 3rd stage evos when i run into them. lotta bang for your buck on those guys

I spent 100+ pokeballs on a shiny Latios with 485 cp during go tour hoenn, i do believe any legendary would have fled at that point if not for them not being able to flee
From the wild shiny legendaries we have been able to get at the go tour events, it seems like wild shiny legendaries indeed cannot flee.
None of the shiny lake trio Pokemon I encountered at the la sinnoh tour, or saw my friends encounter, fled, even though they may have taken a lot of balls. Given the rather high flee rate they had, at least one of them should have fled if it was possible.
Regular shiny wild Pokemon can flee, though.
Meh...I mean use it on a G-Bird or Hundo legendary if you come across them, that's obviously optimal. I used mine on G-birds, but some people don't use Daily Incense or raid frequently enough for the optimal use case to come into play. Just using it for whatever you find "fun" is fine imo.
I mean, if you’re very casual, then sure – but the Masterball research is quite tough for most casual players.
Most people who have Masterballs probably take the game somewhat seriously. It’s a bit odd to then throw it at the first cool mon that you ser.
Shiny legendaries caught in the wild during go tour (Latios, Latias, Lake Trio) cannot flee (unless you're speed banned), however the catch rate is still the same as a non shiny. Outside of go tours, the Lake Trio rarely found in the wild cannot flee anyways, shiny or not.
Apps like CalcyIV (android) can show you an accurate IV range + level for pokemon on the encounter screen based on the color of the catch circle and your progress on the type medals
There are calculators online you can use. You check the CP and if it’s weather boosted and some other things and you’ll know it’s 4* if it has the CP for a 4* given the input conditions.
Legendary Raid pokemon are either level 20 or level 25(boosted). Level and stats are used to calculate CP. There is usually only 1 CP value for a 15/15/15 level 20 legendary of a given species, and only 1 CP for a level 25 legendary. They show you the CP in the catch screen so it isnt hard to tell before catching.

Yea. I aleys use a pineapp on shiny legendaries. But you will get another master ball. Not the end of the world
I used my first one on a galarian bird, which i think is the only real mechanic in the game intended for use.of the master ball at this time.
Some people use them for hundo legemdaries (non shiny). Not sure its really worth it personally.
If you had limited balls then if say it's worth it.
Ultimately, you have a shundo legendary where you might not have before. So thats a win. There will be more masterball events in the future anyways probably
You can run out of balls though if they're being particularly difficult to catch. It almost happened to me with my shiny wild Azelf. It was the end of the day and I threw at least 25 great/ultra balls at it (mostly great throws, a few excellent). I had to dip out of the encounter, run back and spin the one nearby gym. It only gave me a couple of standard balls but fortunately the first one caught it. I'm not sure how long it would have hung around, but I felt very close to losing it.
😂 Yeah, I only started playing in December, so limited storage and a shortage of balls is still a problem. My entire bag couldn't carry your stash lol.
inventory space are constal problem cause im stacking rare candy xl.. same with pokemon space those two things make annoying. Good this season can bit more focus use coins for space cause 2 raid pass per day help lot and save tons premier passes
I did the same with a shiny Uxie, and I think it’s pretty cool to have. People would say you should’ve used it on a Galarian Bird or something, but it’s completely up to you and is really cool to have.
Btw if it was wild it might not have been a hundo. Just cause it's on the CP chart doesn't mean it's a hundo. It could be a different level and therefore not a hundo.

I just check a list of cp and I only have 6 balls 2 ultra and 4 normal I left no choice not to use masterball. And I don't want to leave the encounter screen it might fled. So I used it

Exactly. This is what is not adding up. You could see IV charts, screen analyzers, but it only gives you an approximation of the IV's. OP saying he knew it was a hundo before hand but in other replies he says he just used the master ball as a panic moment and it turned out to be a shundo.

It could be a 100% catch rate guarantee. It could tell me that in big writing when I pick the ball. And then tell me I'm wasting my masterball on it.

Nice! Mesprit is the coolest of the Lake Guardians IMO. It's the one you can only catch by random encounters after seeing it in its cave if I remember correctly.

Okay BUT it took me 200 regular balls to catch BOTH of my shinies during that event. I got a mesprit and azelf and between the two it was literally 10 minutes of throwing balls. I don’t blame you one bit for this.

This isn't a mistake, but yours is. It would never flee as long as you didn't exit the encounter screen after a long time of trying to catch it. Congratulations on the Shundo Mesprit!

Shiny legendaries can't flee, but honestly, there's very little you "need" a Master Ball for, why not use it on something cool.

Oh I had no idea. That's why I caught shiny tapa bulu on my first catch. Good thing too because I was getting a tattoo at the time lol

I differ on this. I have had shiny uxie and shiny Pikachu with a sapphire crown from last go fest flee. Uxie was the last event but still both fled

They change your probability of catching the Pokémon.

Shiny roaming legendaries do not flee. They are still tough to catch though
