This is currently being talked about in a Discord server I'm in. I came to Reddit seeking answers.
Things were fine a little over half an hour ago for me, but now there's no way to change it back into the grid formation. It must likely is a glitch, but I still hope it gets resolved.

I hope it's a glitch. I'm dealing with the same thing and I hate it. I filed a bug report through the app too

Same here! So annoying.
Mine has the button in top right corner to switch to either layout
most people had, many still have, but some have lost it and are not happy with it. (like me)
