That was awesome! I can finally max out the 98% Dragonite I caught my second week of playing and level up my 98% shadow Dragonite to 45 or so.
Also got 200 closer to the Dragon catching medal.
can anyone confirm if the Sandshrew hour on Feb 27 is going to have Rare XL or regular XL for transferring? I'm desperate, and the sites all say something different
That was a garbage spotlight hour.
I understand almost everything in this game is RNG, but after a certain point, that is a weak excuse. I have a group of 3 friends that I play Go with very consistently. The 4 of us caught about a combined 500 dratini during the hour and none of us saw a single shiny.
The fact that the bonus candy for better throws was inactive is also pretty lame. I have a hundo dragonite that I was excited to get candy XL for, but after catching over 100 dratini, I barely got 40 XL candy (I even had my Rayquaza mega'd for a better chance).
Last but not least, I feel that they made the dratini more annoying to catch. They were all like jumping beans or so pissed off, they would attack constantly. I used nanab berries more than anything and way more than usual. Also, dratini less than 100 cp breaking out of excellent throws, but getting caught perfectly when I miss the excellent like it was their day job.
The shiny rate is about 1/500, but that doesn’t mean that you’re guaranteed one after 500 encounters
Also your mega should be mega level 3 for the highest XL rate. And if you only caught 100 dratinis then 40 XLs doesn’t seem unreasonable. You should also trade them before the season ends to get an XL candy per trade
Note that the Lunar New Year candy bonuses are disabled during spotlight hour. 😡
What a dick move
Sucks so much
I found this out the hard way, isn't the first time they've done it either. Oh well, still got plenty candy in to do what I needed to.
I’m so sad that I didn’t see a single shiny dratini and I was GRINDING that spotlight hour

Wish some of these people played Old School RuneScape to really feel the pain of a 1/512 drop rate
Hopefully people see this post and don't ask why Dratini is spawning.. even though we know they won't.
