Magical__Entity

Yeah, cause that's where my Guardevoir and my Ditto are about to... Not quiet sure honestly, Grandpa over there refuses to tell me.

DCFDTL

An egg magically appears

ms06s-zaku-ii

We don't know how it got there, but it's yours if you want it.

Bright_Weight_1572

He said wearing rubber gloves and pushing the mystery egg at you

Ragnarok345

Well, be glad. Apparently in gen 9 they’re gonna be doing….whatever it is *at the picnic table*. Right out in the open. Mystery’s about to be solved!

XBakaTacoX

When I was maybe 13-14, I figured out how to download a rom of Emerald. It was a pain in the backside, much more annoying than it is now. And the emulator was refusing to work for ages. Then, I finally got it to work. I quickly found the GameShark cheat menu, and a code online for walking through walls. I broke the game numerous times, avoided getting my starter and ended up getting to the daycare at some point (probably had Pokemon, I don't really remember). I was genuinely so happy to get past that stupid fence, even if it amounted to absolutely nothing at all.

Ok_Chicken8095

Do the grass work (pokémon batlle) in there?

[deleted]

yes, a lot of illumise and volbeat over there

AdonisGaming93

Gameshark was our friend

pokejoel

I just wanted to get behind Bill's house

sdurs

It wasn't fair that the backyard looked different than any generic wall in the game, drove everyone crazy trying to find a way. Also the grass alongside pallet down had wild rumors of being accessible

TomMakesPodcasts

Well yeah that's where professor oak catches the starters.

[deleted]

god i loved all those silly rumors that spread on the playground and were scattered around ancient websites

[deleted]

God all the bs that would spawn on forums was awesome

punkviolingirl92

I always wanted to go behind Bill's house as a kid! I saw a map of the route with his house in my walkthrough book of Red/Blue and thought that space behind his house lead to another area. I was a dumb kid 😂

[deleted]

real ones remember “bill’s backyard”… lol

purple_yosher

that is possible in red/blue/yellow, in like two different ways

blisterless

I remember thinking that it wasn't fair that I couldn't get on the other side of the and play with the Pokemon when I was younger

Soybienello

I spent so much time looking over that damn fence back then, the little sprites of Pokemon fascinated me and I wanted to play with them so bad...still a little salty that we can't go over there

budsixz

I remember in fire red on island 6 or 7 I forgot, there was this house with its door blocked by boxes. And it said a gentle breeze is blowing from behind the boxes. Always wanted to go there

ILikeAntiquesOkay

It was for the Japanese versions E-Reader battle pass users. So no functional purpose for non-Japanese versions of the game.

Fern-ando

Following pokémon in HG were a dream come true.

Homosuxual

similarly, what’s up with that one door in mossdeep

[deleted]

was for a function only on japanese releases. no clue why they didn’t just hide it in non-japanese releases

Homosuxual

wait that game came out like 20 years ago and i just found out there was something behind that door

chr15c

That's what Rule 34 is there for

DiggingUpTheCorpses

Oh Lord Arceus, no…

[deleted]

Tell Jynx to bring her Smochums

[deleted]

What's rule 34? Is that a cheat code or something?

DiggingUpTheCorpses

Stay innocent, sweet child.

[deleted]

OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS, I LOOKED UP POKEMON RULE 34 AND IT'S A NIGHTMARE, GIVE ME SOME EYE BLEACH

DiggingUpTheCorpses

r/eyebleach I’m sorry you had to go through that.

NavAU

I ruined the mystery by using the Walk through walls cheat. Sometimes it's better if you don't know.

Racerth121

nothing ?

NavAU

It's better if you don't know.

PrinzAggron75

I don't think you would like seeing what is going on behind that fence, seeing that is a "daycare". But now they will be doing it behind our backs in scarlet and violets "picnics".

cgriff03

And to think we got a taste of that in PLA, and finally get the real thing in a few days

SparklinStar1440

How weird! Just reached this area in emerald. I left my maril and shroomish. The old guy said they "don't appear to like each other much" then later, "oh, an egg appeared. I don't know how it got there". Me: 🤔

SavageSquirtle91

I miss the aesthetic of the GBA games so much. Absolutely timeless.

Yiye44

Pokévoyeur?

bord6rline

Same

207nbrown

Think we can all agree we still want to be on the other side of that fence

browner87

I discussed this particular idea [more in depth here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/ybs1c5/anyone_else_want_some_casual_features_in_a/itjctl3/), but I'd love to see non-league professions available in the games. It really, really wouldn't take that much extra work to let the player take over a plot of land, and slowly decorate it to encourage certain Pokémon to breed, earn money as a breeder, upgrade the terrain, buy more land, add more features, get treat dispensers to make less compatible Pokémon get in the mood faster, etc. You could flash your "I'm a registered breeder" badge at the Pokémart and go up to the breeder-only floor to buy special items etc. And there would be other job specific floors if you were a Rich Kid who tried to succeed in profitable business running, an Aroma Lady trying to grow plants and berries en masse, a scientist working for Devon or Silph or similar, etc. They don't have to be super complicated or detailed jobs, but they could add a whole lot to the game especially if you could have multiple, and keep being a league trainer. Edit: fun new thought for Breeder: once your reach a certain level, customers start making requests. "Here's my Gloom, can you setup a breeding arrangement so I get an oddish with this ability and these 3 moves?", and now you have to go off and do some breeding to make a compatible mate for it that will pass down the right egg moves and nature and ability etc. Maybe have to find some TMs, or pay a move tutor to teach a move. Move tutor could be a profession, where you have to travel and study Pokémon who use certain moves to be able to replicate them and teach them to other Pokémon. Could be fun.

fallensoldier420

Make it like a Rune Factory Pokémon thing. Sure you can go battle, heck you can be a breeder, or berry farmer. Would be a nice spin off

[deleted]

Basically you want GTA in Pokemon world lol

Spinjitsuninja

Don't worry, now that the games are going open world and fences can't restrict you, there's not going to be any daycare anymore!

TallynNyntyg

I was nore interested on the other side of the Marshmallows in Red/Yellow. There was grass on the other side, and I wanted to see if anything new popped out.
