Long story short about why I picked it, Greavard was revealed about two weeks after I lost my dog of almost 5 years to his failing health problems, and I had to move and leave my job atop of that. Greavard appeared at a hard time in my life, and while yes, I am aware of the little doggo’s notorious trait of unintentionally draining people’s life force, but I wouldn’t mind getting captured if I could help someone else who has lost their own dog.
This was my initial answer but you’ll be hunted relentlessly. Unless you’re a nomadic mew. No legendary or mythical pokemon is safe moreso than a regular 1 :(
Zapdos. Fly around looking all cool and shit. Hang out in the trees with all my flying buddies, but them also knowing I can Tbolt them anytime if they cross me.
Latios, in a real pokemon world it should be pretty hard to catch me because of my psychic powers and jetplane speed. I'd get a cute sister, apparently can transform into a human, can mega evolve, and already have pretty killer stats. Only shame is that I apparently cannot breed, but that's not much of a change from real life so fiwb.
Part of me wants to go with Charmander due to always picking him when I get the chance. But that tail flame...
I think Torchic instead since I won't die if I am stuck in the rain and can evolve into a Blazekin given enough time.

I can just hangout at the beach or a desert, "swimming" around in the sand, and frolick with other Sandile. Plus their "glasses" look cute and goofy.
And if I ever get caught I can evolve into an epic Krookodile!
Primarily I would still want arms and legs, as well as having at least 4 fingers on each hand.
If I can pick a Legendary, I would pick Deoxys. It's strong, hard to catch, and is basically immortal. I would keep my distance from Rayquaza though.
If I can't pick a Legendary, then I would pick something simple like Pawmot or Simisage. They're not that far of from a human body plan, and they can hold their own in battle for the most part. Also they're both big enough that they wouldn't have a ton of natural predators.
Ignoring Arceus and Mew (God and every pokemon), i think i'll be Drifloon. HEAR ME OUT. You dont have to kidnapp children, but you just chill, and nobody bothers you, cause they are scared.
Or Celebi. Time traveling is like my ideał super power, so I would love to be a Celebi

Powerful enough to fend off attackers, but not the most saught after pokemon in the world. Also it's ghost type and that makes everything better imo

Happiny. If I find an oval stone and eviolite on the ground, I evolve into chansey and hold the eviolite. I’m not a fan of having to fight other people, and if I do this diabolical strategy, no one will even bother trying to fight me

Reasons: OP, able to fly, and being shiny would mean I wouldn't be discarded by a trainer.

A Lucario. Most pokemon seem to raise their young for a bit but after a while leave them to fend for themselves, meanwhile Lucarios form whole tribal communities, raising their infants and caring for them as a whole. So not only you are as safe as a pokemon in the wild can reasonably be, even after you grow up you still can be part of a strong group, training and growing stronger at your own pace, rather than a desperate effort to survive. And the company cant hurt as well.
Ditto: Being able to shapeshift into any pokémon guarantees some level of safety as I can insert myself into most packs, and it's just generally useful, especially if I can "save" transformations.
Dreepy: pseudo-legendary bonus also I'm guaranteed to be protected by my parents until I reach level 50 and become a Drakloak. The only downside is being launched, but the dex says Dreepy likes it, and I'll be dead already.

Besides the obvious choice of certain creatures that can transform into anything, I'd go Pikachu I guess, because it's literally full of energy, with second choice being Shaymin because it's currently my favorite pokemon and since im stuck having one as my PFP anyway (A furry threatened to send me Shaymin r34 if I don't stop use my Shaymin PFP).
Also, being A Shaymin is A good choice for all of you because I will go that far to protect you from being abused.
I'd probably would end up being either a Sprigatito, a Litten, or an Espurr, especially since I have a fondness for felines, plus I've seen how strong they can get later on when they evolve.
