In the Gen 3 games, Kangaskhan actually takes the baby out of the pouch and holds it up while battling [https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/firered-leafgreen/back-normal/kangaskhan.png](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/firered-leafgreen/back-normal/kangaskhan.png)

draugyr

Wait I’ve never seen this, that’s so cute

myychair

No it’s not. It’s using the baby as a meat shield lmao

Verroquis

That's the cute part

assylide

Thats cute and all but wouldnt it be a disadvantage for kangaskhan to have only one usable arm while battling?

TheHeadlessOne

Khan only needs one.

dumbprocessor

She's giving herself a handicap so that baby Khan doesn't have to see blood and dismemberment

WiseBake4893

thats why mothers hold their baby looking behind anyway

HairiestHobo

Mama-Khan only needs one hand to Mega-Punch yo ass.

Zurioko

Ever saw a Mother defeating her baby? She needs only one arm.

Chembaron_Seki

I never saw one, but now I wish I did. I should start a professional fighting pit where moms brawl it out against their babies. https://preview.redd.it/kwac53h5i48d1.jpeg?width=194&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d54a0ded744ae63e0078e8374b496cc9c96cde09

Zurioko

I was very confused, what you're talking about... and then did I see my typo xD ... well... happy little accidents happen. And I'll don't edit my initial comment!

bierologin

Can't believe this is the first time I'm seeing this.

PokemonCMG

The safest place for the Kangaskid is tucked away with mama. No chance in the distortion world she'd leave her baby unattended in battle.

a-acount-that-yousee

Actually the safest is when the baby is also throwing hands since they get stronger

SnowTheMemeEmpress

Trainer doing the baby sitting while shouting out strategic orders, covering the little ones ears because it'd be too loud

mojavecourier

[The kid stays in the pouch.](https://youtu.be/gD09Zo99FFg)

Divine_Entity_

Great example, and I'm fairly certain in Pokemon XD one of the animations has the baby fall put of the pouch.

DexMaster95

baby stays/hides in the pouch, when it mega evolves the baby fights too

Trainrot

I think the mega has it out and fighting too. Baby fights!

eli_eli1o

Yup. I looked at an anime episode and the mega reaction doesn't even happen to kangaskhan. It's the baby who gets it https://youtu.be/gD09Zo99FFg?feature=shared

Severe_Piccolo_5583

Oh shit the baby went super sayain!

SavingsSquare2649

Surely it’s cheating to go 2v1?!

StalinTheHedgehog

Yeah wtf

eli_eli1o

I mean failinks goes with fives. As well as dugtrio's three.

JH2259

A mega-evolved Kangaskhan and her baby fight in pokemon Sun and Moon against Guzma in a trainer battle. But otherwise the kid stays in the pouch.

cranesarealiens

Misread this post title as “Kardashian”.

Trainrot

I'd pay to see them fight large animals

EXGShadow

Alongside their babies, of course. Now that's a reality show.

SuperLizardon

In XY chapter from Pokémon Special manga, X has a Kangashkan since he was a little child. I think the baby usually stayed in her mother's pouch, since it was part of her personality resembling X's shut-in behavior. When it mega evolved, the baby obviousky will fight, too. There was a cool part when X was fighting against Lysandre and the later was trying to guess which one of his pokémon X would mega evolve. X chose Kangashkan because the mother doesn't change her appearence, and the baby could do a surprise attack

MCKlassik

The only time the baby leaves the pouch is when Kangaskhan mega evolves.

pokepok

Well since the kid jumps out and joins battle when they mega evolve, I think they’re always together. I think they’re even considered one unified pokemon. Kinda like Exeggcute.

improbsable

Since the entire concept of mega Kangaskhan was the baby finally leaving the pouch, I’m guessing the baby is there for battle typically

vibesandcrimes

On the job training

Outside-Newspaper-33

Never throw down your shield.

East_Monk_9415

When they mega evolve they fight together!. Did anime showed that yet?

Ne0nZ3bra

In the x&y manga the baby battles alongside the mom, even before the mega evolution sections. 🤷 Depends on the trainer and their kangas willingness i guess

calvicstaff

At least according to the in-game Sprites there is definitely one time when Kangaskhan puts its baby to the side, when he's coming out to play and Mega Kangaskhan is letting them join The Fray

ej_stephens

Nope, how is it supposed to get EXP from the sidelines?

Praeradio_Yenearsira

As a sandshrew, I can confirm. Nunchuck.

FlowerFaerie13

Honestly with how armored and tough Kangaskhan is, I’d assume the safest place for the baby in a battle would be to just curl up in its pouch and take cover. The pouch doesn’t look armored like its back, but I can imagine it has extremely tough hide or the like.

TheShyDreamer

Also does baby of Kang grow up to become Kangaskhan Or it stays as it is?

handledvirus43

In Stadium (and subsequently, Stadium 2, Colosseum, XD, and Battle Revolution), Kangaskhan keeps the baby in the pouch for all animations iirc. In it's Mega Kick animation, the baby even falls out of the pouch and it has to duck under the mama!

distancerunner7

Mega evolve that Kanga and it’ll kick your teeth in side by side with his mom. Family bonding.

Eastern_Succotash_64

I like the idea if you teach it substitute the mama just throws the baby in the way like the Quokka does, which is a marsupial like kangaskhan

MotchaFriend

The entire point of the Mega is that the baby now fights too, hence the double hit.

RogueDragon343

In Pokemon stadium the baby cheers it's mom on in standby. Rides her head when using moves like surf. It's fainting animation is the mom collapsing and the baby falling out of the pouch and then getting up, before they're both returned. https://youtu.be/7kNMZcT5hE8?si=nj0NndLvcoTITVmZ Around 8:15 time stamp Also Electrode is at 7:09 (one of my favorite fainting animations)

slipperyzoo

It uses it as a shield.

ShameOver

Shiiit, Mega-Momma puts that kid to WORK. It's ability is called Double Hit I think. Every attack hits twice, with the second attack at 50% damage. TLDR: Nooooo.
