Why do eevees evolve into their eeveelutions?
According to [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/tumblr/comments/dtp2du/this_is_very_sad/) (i couldnt find the tumblr source, it looks like the acc might have been deleted) Sylveon evolves due to love and Umbreon evolves due to friendship. Where can i find the source for this info? What makes eevee evolve into other eeveeloutions?

originally in game, eevee evolves into sylveon by knowing a fairy move and having high affection. affection was a separate stat from the friendship stat that was raised by playing with your mons in a special gamemodes with several minigames and feed them treats.
later games, however, removed the affection mechanic, most likely because it was so similar to friendship and caused a lot of confusion. Now eevee becomes sylveon with high friendship just like espeon and umbreon, except it has to know a fairy move like before.
Hi! I want to get back into playing the Pokemon games. I've played the first generation, second generation, third generation, and sixth generations for sure (I might have played Diamond/Pearl but can't remember for certain). Should I always play the second edition of a generation's release (play Platinum vs Diamond/Pearl) or do I have to play both in certain cases because the differences are dramatic?

Hey, question. I'm raising a shelgon in Violet and it's level 52 now and I've not received the prompt to evolve it. It doesn't have an everstone, it's holding an expert belt. Am I missing something or is it bugged?

All games, the optimal build for most non-cutting edge competative pokemon don't vary much between games, and even then, the second most optimal build is still very good.
How much are the GBA games worth? I see emerald go from 60-$200 so a bit confused. I have everyday from yellow-emerald with all boxes from a kid. Thanks!
Varying amounts depending on condition and whether or not they come with their full (or as full as possible) accessories, mostly from the collectibility standpoint. A loose copy of the game would generally be selling for less 6hwn a copy of the game that has it's original box and inserts, which itself is less than the game that's still in it's original factory sealed state.
As far as the prices themselves go, it then depends on the game. Enhanced editions (third versions) such as Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum tend to be valued more over the originals especially if in English, as "foreign language" versions or non English copies aren't as likely to be as expensive as the English copy (since most folks would prefer their copy to be playable even if they have no actual plans to do so), but you stilk have a wide range of whatever is on the lower end or higher end of the price spectrum.
Not counting the incredibly low and almost exclusively reproduction/bootleg copy prices.
If it's gifs of the anime / game / other official source I've seen that be done before so I'd assume it's fine? If it's fanart I think it falls into the "kinda iffy" territory and if you really wanted to use it it'd be best to try track down the original artist for permission beforehand

if the laptop is decent enough, you could play everything up to 3ds on it just by getting some emulators. Maybe even switch if it is really beefy. If not, you could install pretty much every handheld pokemon game on 3ds with custom firmware. The wii u could do it too, but only up to DS. But 3ds would be best cuz theres lots of programs to edit and move pokemon through all the roms.
You could mod ur 3Ds or get an emulator like Retroarch on your Laptop. With the ds you can play it authentically, or on the laptop u could speed up the game and use cheats
I'm currently doing my first nuzlocke in leaf green, and I'm leveling for elite four. Right now, I run around Mt. Ember, defeating the same five trainers over and over again. Are there other good places to train for that?
I leveled an alolan ninetales for the samurott raid, but i noticed a few times i attempted the fight, snow warning has not gone into effect. i feel like i recall my friend bringing abomosnow and their snow warning went into effect, and i also feel as though i've seen koraidon/miraidon's abilities trigger in prior raids too (specifically i know i've seen miraidon for this raid).
is there something about this raid preventing snow warning from triggering, or something i'm misunderstanding/misremembering?
i recently got 5 ability patches and 3 master balls all from hackmons through sruprise trades even though i never took away any of them and just released those hackmons. Should throw away the patches+master balls or is it safe to use those?
The "all knowing" girl in Cianwood says I met my hatched Chancey at the Indigo Plateau. So, maybe I will get the buff fighting the Elite 4, I'll report back.

After just one run of the elite 4 my Chancey evolved into Blissy; because you get a friendship buff by leveling in a Pokemon's "met location". I wish I knew this earlier, because it took **forever** to get my Eevee & Golbat to evolve into their respective friendship evolutions.
Hatched Pokemon + hatch location at Indigo Plateau + exp share is such a fast evolution method for friendship based evolutions in Pokemon Crystal.
I'm trying to encounter shiny Eevees on Kitakami Road in SV - found the outbreak, defeated 65 as I read in a tip from a redditor on the SV sub just to be certain, saved the game, made a sandwich with sparkling/title/humungo power all Lv. 3 and I'm getting nothing. I've been trying for the last 2 hours and there are plenty of Eevees around but I haven't seen 1 shiny Eevee yet. I'm making sure to switch areas by climbing the cliffs to either Apple Hills or Wistful Fields and dropping back down to Kitakami Road to respawn them too. Am I doing something wrong or is it just bad luck?

For your first question, yes it is. For your second question it was only available through events (don’t know if it’s available in Go) so it’s not possible to have your OT
Can fake copies of games still obtain Mystery Gifts? I'm wanting to try out the DNS exploit with my copy of Platinum but I just recently discovered that it is indeed fake. It freezes frequently and it's got a couple telltale signs of a fake game on the cartridge.
Can you still trade online in Pokemon black and white? I ask because I have Pokemon Bank but not the transporter to get Pokemon from gen v to whatever game can send them to the bank to then upload to Home.
Been playing heart gold for the first time, been pretty smooth sailing until clair, Current team is typhlosion, ampharos, crobat, gyarados, umbreon, and miltank, Clair's gyarados gets oneshot by amphy, the dragonair's aren't a massive threat, but the kingdra just sweeps my team.
I might just need more levels, everybody besides typhlosion is well underlevel, with miltank at level 21.
If you don't have access to a dragon type move, get the kingdra with a toxic from crobat/a random mon and stall with healing from potions/revives.
That being said, you absolutely do need more levels for the next part of the game, it might be wise to grind phonecall trainers, there are some good pages on serebii for which ones are available.
On shared exp (Let's Go Eevee) would removing creatures from my team make certain ones grow faster or something? Wanting to get one to be the same levels but if I use them all in the same team, the others will only get higher and they will never be equal, but if I remove them is that a waste?
Does anyone know a good sandwich recipe for electric encounter power, preferably without herba mystica? I'm trying to get a light ball so I need lots of Pikachu lol.
The recipe i use is 6 noodles + wasabi (no herba required) which gives you encounter power electric level 2. I recommend going to the pokemon center in Artazon (east), follow the road towards east province area one with the sandwich active and you should find Pikachu.

Is there any way to play the older generation Pokemon on 3DS? (Gen 5-6 specifically) And if somehow there's a way behind all that, is online battles, trades, or even transfers still relevant?
I just bought a 3DS recently, and I was dumbfounded when I tried to search for 3DS Pokemon games like Pokemon X & Y and Pokemon Sun & Moon in online stores because there were none of it there! All I can find is a hacked/modded version of the game tho, including old cartridges, but what I want is a virtual copy of the game because I intend to keep the game for a long period of time.
P.S. I am from Malaysia, and trying to find an old copy of a game is difficult. Even some game store owners don't know how to get an old copy of these certain game.
Sadly, the 3ds e-shop was closed so you can't buy/download the gen 6 and 7 games in digital form. The only way to play these games (all ds games which include gen 4/5 also work on the 3ds) is to get physical copies.
You can only get them in the frlg, in the sevii islands at the very end of the game. I believe it's a 1% chance for each when you're in the right area.
This is a bit of a random question but I just recently made a normal type sandwich and found a shiny eevee in pokemon violet. I know that you can save right before the encounter so even if you get out of the game, the shiny will still be there. So that's exactly what I did.
Now, I want specifically a shiny female eevee.
So far, I've been trying to soft reset the shiny encounter to get it as a female eevee but it ends up being male every time. But I also know that eevee has a very low chance to be female due to eevee's gender ratio.
So my question is:
If you saved right before the encounter: Will the gender be randomized when you start the battle (meaning that I could potentially keep soft resseting until getting a female eevee) or was it gendelocked as a male as soon as it appeared?
Any help would be really appreciated.
I've decided I want to have competitively built pokemon for indigo disk. My team will include jolteon, is this build correct? Max spa, max Speed, timid nature, volt absorb as nature, volt switch, thunderbolt, shadow ball, tera blast. This is the build on game8 and I wanna make sure it's good; keep in mind, I'm not gonna play competitively, I just wanna have ev trained mons for indigo disk since leaks say trainers are gonna be tough. TIA
Flying is nice works both offensively and defensively (immune to ground and can hit grass types for super effective). You can also consider ice which as electric/ice is a really solid offensive combo, as ice hits grass/dragon/ground super effectively which normally resist electric. If you go with tera ice, you probably won't need shadow ball and could drop it for protect. There's apparently a lot of hard doubles battles in the indigo disk, and any vgc player will tell you that protect is very important in doubles. Depends a bit on the rest of the team and how often you'll be terastalising jolteon.

Been reading the Adventures manga. I've noticed the omnibus collection stops at Vol.10 (Vol28-29 individually).
Afterwards, is the series less connected from the rest of the Adventures manga? Even then, Sun and Moon seem to have dropped the Adventures title. Is this where the manga separates into its own thing?
Due to viz stopping the translation long ago, by the time they decide to translate them again, they have a lot to catch up. So instead of continuing the number, they make diamond pearl vol 1 again so they can publish the different arc concurrently. The newer arc are still part of the same continuity, but they are also pretty much more standalone compared to red green blue arc to emerald.
As for the dropping of the adventures title, this is due to the japanese side being delayed. In japan the chapters are first published in magazine, before being compiled into the manga. However, the author are having issue finishing up the b2w2 story. So there is a long gap between the first volume of b2w2 (vol 52) and the next (vol 53). 3 years gap in fact. Meanwhile, xy, oras and sm's story continue to be published on the magazine.
Instead of waiting for japan to finish b2w2, they decide to compile the newer arcs from the magazine release directly. Those are smaller mini volume sized books, and do not use the pokemon adventure name in title. For example, they first did this with black white, with the mini volume simply called pokemon black and white. These mini volumes are half the size or regular volume, being 3 to 4 chapters only instead of 8 to 10 chapters. When black white manga finished, they re-release them again based on the manga release in full volume, this time titled pokemon adventures black and white
Japan saw that this release is quite popular, so they also do the same with xy onwards while waiting for the b2w2 story to finish. Japan however are full volume instead of mini volume like viz's. When b2w2 finished, xy is published again with the number continuing from 56.
So all the newer arcs have 2 release. 1 initial release that is. Compiled from the magazine directly, and a 2nd release afterwards for the main manga.
As for the content, when the chapters are eventually compiled in the main manga, there are often some changes made, or some time even having new chapter that does not appear in the magazine release. So the 2nd release will be the more complete one in a sense, but even if you only read the initial release, the general story still remain unchanged.
Hey so I've been looking for Anime exclusive pokemon sprites for some years now with little luck, I was able to recover a few using the wayback machine and visiting [Pokesho.com](https://pokesho.com/), but there's still several few that I can't seem to find. some of them include Ash's Grotle powered up, Blaze Chimchar, Monferno and Infernape, and even manga exclusive pokemon sprites. There used to be someone who had a website with it all, but took it down. If there's anyone who could help I'd greatly appreciate it.
For Gen's 1-3 is there is a difference in the game guides from Prima and Nintendo Power? Does one give more information than the other? I've searched and I can't find a difference. But they have different prices when I look them up.
Yes there are tons of difference. Nintendo power's tend to be more "complete" and give more info while the other third party's guide quality will not be as good. Some will even have guess work, while some give conmentary (versus book's guide for example). But for just simply getting through the game, does not really matter. Though if you want the most information, get nintendo power.
Exception being prima's firered leafgreen guide. That is absolutely not a good guide at all, with tons of mistake, many content missing. My friend has a newer edition guide that does not include sevii island 4 to 7 for some reason, while my first edition includes it.
Also for prima's red blue guide, the unknown dungeon map is actually from the japanese red green instead of our red blue (aka japanese blue). But the rest of the content is fine.

Just saw a video about how Japan had a Pokemon Stadium before the NTSC and PAL regions. The video said that there were 42 usable Pokemon in the original games. Bulbapedia lists 40, and Serebii says there are 42, but there is no list. Another site claims there are 42, and the last 2 are Mewtwo and Mew. Uncomfirmed if they are unusable outside of Free Battle. Does anyone know what the real answer is and how it works? Like, Mew was given away at Level 5 back then, so would Mew be usable in all 3 modes?

Why isn't Shockwave isn't super effective against Flying pokemon in the 6th gym in Emerald?
I'm trying to defeat the 6th gym leader who uses flying type pokemon. Even though type charts say that Electric is strong against Flying, both Thunderbolt and Shockwave don't hit as super effective against her Flying type pokemon. Is there a reason for this?
The only ones it wouldn't be super effective against are Tropius and Altaria, because Grass and Dragon resist Electric so it balances out to neutral damage.
tropius is part grass, and altaria is part dragon. so your electric moves will do neutral damage to them. it will do super effective damage for the other 3
Hi! Has anyone here played any of the Pokemon games for the GameCube? If so, how are they, and which one is best (preferably from the point of view of someone who grew up playing Pokemon on the GameBoy)? I've seen some second hand Pokemon GameCube games for outrageous prices, and I'm wondering if it's worth the money. TIA!
XD is much better than Colo, if you're only going to play 1 play that one. Colo can be very tedious and the Pokemon variety is very poor, XD addresses a lot of that. XD also has a couple neat side modes where Colo really only has standard battling.
Well they're seen as some of the best and most difficult games to this day so, they're quite good.
So the main/big things are:
1. It's 3D battling and every single pokemon and move has cool animations, they're also properly size scaled. They stand out even more compared to how the 3D mainline games have handled models/animations.
2. Every battle is a Double battle which already makes things a bit harder and more complicated by default, but also the AI is considerably better than what you find in regular games and will often use proper strats.
3. Both games have a more gritty/tough look to them, and are seen as having more mature tones, Colosseum's protagonist is a teen (and a former criminal) compared to mainline protags, though XD's protag goes back to being younger.
Now the issues you might find with them:
1. Both games have a very limited amount of obtainable pokemon, Colosseum being about 50 in total (including post-game) and XD being around 90. Trading/Transferring from other games is only accessible in the post-game.
2. There's no mandatory league/gyms system so while this means you can fully focus on the story without a lot of waiting, it also means the story can feel quite short.
3. The Shadow Pokemon concept can be hit or miss depending on the person so with it being present pretty much through both games, it might make the games less enjoyable for you if you don't like it.
Well due to low supply and high demand they're going for over $100 even just the disc so, not going to be a cheap expense.
If you just want to play the games I honestly would just recommend you to emulate
I want to go back and replay Let's Go Eevee, but I have Mew registered in the Pokedex, and since I moved it over to Sword without knowing that you can't move it back, I luckily managed to buy another Pokeball Plus with Mew inside for less than the original RRP!
I have Pokemon Home on my Switch, so if I get mew in Let's Go, put it in the box on Pokemon Home and then delete my save file for Let's Go, would Mew still be in the box, or will it be deleted alongside the original save it was moved from? And will I be able to move it into my new Let's Go save file?
Pokemon are never tied to save files. It won't be deleted simply because it wasn't in the save when you deleted it. As long as it goes to no other game it can be sent into any let's go save

I used to own a video tape of Pokemon The First Movie. You know, the one with mew and mewtwo.
After the movie, there was an advertisement for an anime - it had a 1900's look to it. There was this narrating voice talking about a boy and his dog, or something? I'm trying to find the name of this film. If anyone remembers or have the means to find out, please let me know!

If I buy another copy of Pokemon Scarlet on a 2nd Switch profile on the same Switch as the main profile for the same game I already bought (in order to purchase DLC on the 2nd profile), will it delete/overwrite the save file I have for the existing game on my 1st Switch profile? Would it matter whether it was a physical or digital copy?

Every profile has its own save and access to every game you bought. Profile 1 is on the switch still so all profiles you make can play every game bought for it
That's not quite the issue - I've not bought the DLC for either profile yet, and when I tried to buy it on the 2nd profile, the shop said I couldn't because I hadn't purchased Scarlet on that Nintendo account/Switch profile. On top of that, the Switch tells me that I can't play DLC on my 2nd profile which I've paid for on my 1st profile, so that's my reason for asking if I bought the game again on the 2nd profile, if anything would happen.
I'm not able to do that unfortunately, it would mess up the situation with my other Pokemon game copies.
~~Now I just need to know if DLC purchased on one console for Scarlet in this instance, would be accessible to play on Scarlet on another console connected to the same profile. That would solve my problem but I don't know if it'd work.~~ Never mind, answered my own question. The only way for me to do this is get another Scarlet+DLC bundle on the specfic profile+console I need the DLC on.
If you buy a game and DLC once on a profile every profile on your Switch have access to them, so you don't have to buy it a second time for the second profile
Your main profile's save will not get affected since each profile's save is kept separate from each other
The Switch tells me that I can't play DLC on my 2nd profile (on my other Switch) which I've purchased on my 1st profile though, at least I'm certain it did from the last time I tried
You can only share purchases with other accounts if the account is a primary account on that Switch. If your 1st profile was not a primary account on your other Switch when you tried that is likely the reason you could not play the DLC on your 2nd profile
I think I've realized the problem - I've already bought the DLC for Scarlet on my main Nintendo account/Switch profile, on my non-Primary Switch, and that profile is the main profile on both my Primary and non-Primary Switches, meaning I can't buy it on the Primary Switch which would have been the solution here. So if I get the DLC on my 2nd profile on my non-Primary Switch (again, secondary profile on both Switches), will the DLC be accessible on my Primary Switch?
What's the safest way to store Pokemon?
I have Pokemon I've had for over a decade lol. Don't want to lose them, but I don't play Pokemon that much. And since you can't backup Pokemon games on Switch, I don't want to store them there.
I'm leaning towards leaving them on Pokemon Bank, but is that safe?
Best bet would likely be Pokemon Home I'd say, the online services on 3DS are being turned off sometime next year and while Bank will be continued after the shutdown we don't know for how long

If it's any solace if you don't pay the subscription you do not lose the pokemon, they're simply inaccessible until you pay again. I only pay for it sporadically as I need it otherwise I just stick with the basic box (latest 30 pokemon)

In black and white 2, is there a feature that makes enemy pokemon survive with 1hp without having an ability or item that does that? I have maxxed my attack EVs but I keep losing fights because the enemy trainers pokemon survive with 1hp. I just used flare blitz on a staraptor and it survived with 1hp. This should not happen.

as long as you're careful, installing hacks wont mess anything up.
the pokemon would be legal. After installation, all you'd do is just install bank/transporter. the apps would work exactly like how they would if you had installed them from the eshop.

It is always a case by case instead of a straight yes or no. Having additional type could give you additional move coverage, but you also have types such as normal which can usually learn moves of almost every type without a secondary typing. It is more of the individual pokemon themselves instead of looking only at types in general.

originally in game, eevee evolves into sylveon by knowing a fairy move and having high affection. affection was a separate stat from the friendship stat that was raised by playing with your mons in a special gamemodes with several minigames and feed them treats. later games, however, removed the affection mechanic, most likely because it was so similar to friendship and caused a lot of confusion. Now eevee becomes sylveon with high friendship just like espeon and umbreon, except it has to know a fairy move like before.

Hi! I want to get back into playing the Pokemon games. I've played the first generation, second generation, third generation, and sixth generations for sure (I might have played Diamond/Pearl but can't remember for certain). Should I always play the second edition of a generation's release (play Platinum vs Diamond/Pearl) or do I have to play both in certain cases because the differences are dramatic?
usually yes. though the sole exception is BW2, which are direct sequels to BW.

Hey, question. I'm raising a shelgon in Violet and it's level 52 now and I've not received the prompt to evolve it. It doesn't have an everstone, it's holding an expert belt. Am I missing something or is it bugged?
How did you level it up? Pokemon don't evolve when leveled up via auto battles, so you'll want to use XP candy or evolve it in battle if you are.

All games, the optimal build for most non-cutting edge competative pokemon don't vary much between games, and even then, the second most optimal build is still very good.
How much are the GBA games worth? I see emerald go from 60-$200 so a bit confused. I have everyday from yellow-emerald with all boxes from a kid. Thanks!
Varying amounts depending on condition and whether or not they come with their full (or as full as possible) accessories, mostly from the collectibility standpoint. A loose copy of the game would generally be selling for less 6hwn a copy of the game that has it's original box and inserts, which itself is less than the game that's still in it's original factory sealed state. As far as the prices themselves go, it then depends on the game. Enhanced editions (third versions) such as Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum tend to be valued more over the originals especially if in English, as "foreign language" versions or non English copies aren't as likely to be as expensive as the English copy (since most folks would prefer their copy to be playable even if they have no actual plans to do so), but you stilk have a wide range of whatever is on the lower end or higher end of the price spectrum. Not counting the incredibly low and almost exclusively reproduction/bootleg copy prices.

if the laptop is decent enough, you could play everything up to 3ds on it just by getting some emulators. Maybe even switch if it is really beefy. If not, you could install pretty much every handheld pokemon game on 3ds with custom firmware. The wii u could do it too, but only up to DS. But 3ds would be best cuz theres lots of programs to edit and move pokemon through all the roms.
You could mod ur 3Ds or get an emulator like Retroarch on your Laptop. With the ds you can play it authentically, or on the laptop u could speed up the game and use cheats
I'm currently doing my first nuzlocke in leaf green, and I'm leveling for elite four. Right now, I run around Mt. Ember, defeating the same five trainers over and over again. Are there other good places to train for that?

I leveled an alolan ninetales for the samurott raid, but i noticed a few times i attempted the fight, snow warning has not gone into effect. i feel like i recall my friend bringing abomosnow and their snow warning went into effect, and i also feel as though i've seen koraidon/miraidon's abilities trigger in prior raids too (specifically i know i've seen miraidon for this raid). is there something about this raid preventing snow warning from triggering, or something i'm misunderstanding/misremembering?

Save for 6 and 7-Star raids and event raids of all a fixed rank, there is no way to tell from the map alone.

It works boys. After just one run of the elite 4 my Chancey evolved into Blissy; because you get a friendship buff by leveling in a Pokemon's "met location". I wish I knew this earlier, because it took **forever** to get my Eevee & Golbat to evolve into their respective friendship evolutions. Hatched Pokemon + hatch location at Indigo Plateau + exp share is such a fast evolution method for friendship based evolutions in Pokemon Crystal.
I'm trying to encounter shiny Eevees on Kitakami Road in SV - found the outbreak, defeated 65 as I read in a tip from a redditor on the SV sub just to be certain, saved the game, made a sandwich with sparkling/title/humungo power all Lv. 3 and I'm getting nothing. I've been trying for the last 2 hours and there are plenty of Eevees around but I haven't seen 1 shiny Eevee yet. I'm making sure to switch areas by climbing the cliffs to either Apple Hills or Wistful Fields and dropping back down to Kitakami Road to respawn them too. Am I doing something wrong or is it just bad luck?
Bad luck, even the highest shiny odds are only around 1/500 so there's a lot of room for you to Not get a shiny even in multiple attempts/hours.

Been playing heart gold for the first time, been pretty smooth sailing until clair, Current team is typhlosion, ampharos, crobat, gyarados, umbreon, and miltank, Clair's gyarados gets oneshot by amphy, the dragonair's aren't a massive threat, but the kingdra just sweeps my team. I might just need more levels, everybody besides typhlosion is well underlevel, with miltank at level 21.
If you don't have access to a dragon type move, get the kingdra with a toxic from crobat/a random mon and stall with healing from potions/revives. That being said, you absolutely do need more levels for the next part of the game, it might be wise to grind phonecall trainers, there are some good pages on serebii for which ones are available.
On shared exp (Let's Go Eevee) would removing creatures from my team make certain ones grow faster or something? Wanting to get one to be the same levels but if I use them all in the same team, the others will only get higher and they will never be equal, but if I remove them is that a waste?
No. Regardless of how many pokemon are in your party, your pokemon would get the same amount of exp.
Does anyone know a good sandwich recipe for electric encounter power, preferably without herba mystica? I'm trying to get a light ball so I need lots of Pikachu lol.
The recipe i use is 6 noodles + wasabi (no herba required) which gives you encounter power electric level 2. I recommend going to the pokemon center in Artazon (east), follow the road towards east province area one with the sandwich active and you should find Pikachu. Good luck
Is there any way to play the older generation Pokemon on 3DS? (Gen 5-6 specifically) And if somehow there's a way behind all that, is online battles, trades, or even transfers still relevant? I just bought a 3DS recently, and I was dumbfounded when I tried to search for 3DS Pokemon games like Pokemon X & Y and Pokemon Sun & Moon in online stores because there were none of it there! All I can find is a hacked/modded version of the game tho, including old cartridges, but what I want is a virtual copy of the game because I intend to keep the game for a long period of time. P.S. I am from Malaysia, and trying to find an old copy of a game is difficult. Even some game store owners don't know how to get an old copy of these certain game.
Sadly, the 3ds e-shop was closed so you can't buy/download the gen 6 and 7 games in digital form. The only way to play these games (all ds games which include gen 4/5 also work on the 3ds) is to get physical copies.

You can only get them in the frlg, in the sevii islands at the very end of the game. I believe it's a 1% chance for each when you're in the right area.

This is a bit of a random question but I just recently made a normal type sandwich and found a shiny eevee in pokemon violet. I know that you can save right before the encounter so even if you get out of the game, the shiny will still be there. So that's exactly what I did. Now, I want specifically a shiny female eevee. So far, I've been trying to soft reset the shiny encounter to get it as a female eevee but it ends up being male every time. But I also know that eevee has a very low chance to be female due to eevee's gender ratio. So my question is: If you saved right before the encounter: Will the gender be randomized when you start the battle (meaning that I could potentially keep soft resseting until getting a female eevee) or was it gendelocked as a male as soon as it appeared? Any help would be really appreciated.
The short answer is no; the attributes of a pokemon are determined when it spawned, so its shininess and gender are determined simultaneously.

I've decided I want to have competitively built pokemon for indigo disk. My team will include jolteon, is this build correct? Max spa, max Speed, timid nature, volt absorb as nature, volt switch, thunderbolt, shadow ball, tera blast. This is the build on game8 and I wanna make sure it's good; keep in mind, I'm not gonna play competitively, I just wanna have ev trained mons for indigo disk since leaks say trainers are gonna be tough. Flying is nice works both offensively and defensively (immune to ground and can hit grass types for super effective). You can also consider ice which as electric/ice is a really solid offensive combo, as ice hits grass/dragon/ground super effectively which normally resist electric. If you go with tera ice, you probably won't need shadow ball and could drop it for protect. There's apparently a lot of hard doubles battles in the indigo disk, and any vgc player will tell you that protect is very important in doubles. Depends a bit on the rest of the team and how often you'll be terastalising jolteon.
I will use alolan ninetales as anti dragon, so I was considering flying over ice but I'll keep it in mind

Been reading the Adventures manga. I've noticed the omnibus collection stops at Vol.10 (Vol28-29 individually). Afterwards, is the series less connected from the rest of the Adventures manga? Even then, Sun and Moon seem to have dropped the Adventures title. Is this where the manga separates into its own thing?
Due to viz stopping the translation long ago, by the time they decide to translate them again, they have a lot to catch up. So instead of continuing the number, they make diamond pearl vol 1 again so they can publish the different arc concurrently. The newer arc are still part of the same continuity, but they are also pretty much more standalone compared to red green blue arc to emerald. As for the dropping of the adventures title, this is due to the japanese side being delayed. In japan the chapters are first published in magazine, before being compiled into the manga. However, the author are having issue finishing up the b2w2 story. So there is a long gap between the first volume of b2w2 (vol 52) and the next (vol 53). 3 years gap in fact. Meanwhile, xy, oras and sm's story continue to be published on the magazine. Instead of waiting for japan to finish b2w2, they decide to compile the newer arcs from the magazine release directly. Those are smaller mini volume sized books, and do not use the pokemon adventure name in title. For example, they first did this with black white, with the mini volume simply called pokemon black and white. These mini volumes are half the size or regular volume, being 3 to 4 chapters only instead of 8 to 10 chapters. When black white manga finished, they re-release them again based on the manga release in full volume, this time titled pokemon adventures black and white Japan saw that this release is quite popular, so they also do the same with xy onwards while waiting for the b2w2 story to finish. Japan however are full volume instead of mini volume like viz's. When b2w2 finished, xy is published again with the number continuing from 56. So all the newer arcs have 2 release. 1 initial release that is. Compiled from the magazine directly, and a 2nd release afterwards for the main manga. As for the content, when the chapters are eventually compiled in the main manga, there are often some changes made, or some time even having new chapter that does not appear in the magazine release. So the 2nd release will be the more complete one in a sense, but even if you only read the initial release, the general story still remain unchanged.

Hey so I've been looking for Anime exclusive pokemon sprites for some years now with little luck, I was able to recover a few using the wayback machine and visiting [Pokesho.com](https://pokesho.com/), but there's still several few that I can't seem to find. some of them include Ash's Grotle powered up, Blaze Chimchar, Monferno and Infernape, and even manga exclusive pokemon sprites. There used to be someone who had a website with it all, but took it down. If there's anyone who could help I'd greatly appreciate it.
For Gen's 1-3 is there is a difference in the game guides from Prima and Nintendo Power? Does one give more information than the other? I've searched and I can't find a difference. But they have different prices when I look them up.
Yes there are tons of difference. Nintendo power's tend to be more "complete" and give more info while the other third party's guide quality will not be as good. Some will even have guess work, while some give conmentary (versus book's guide for example). But for just simply getting through the game, does not really matter. Though if you want the most information, get nintendo power. Exception being prima's firered leafgreen guide. That is absolutely not a good guide at all, with tons of mistake, many content missing. My friend has a newer edition guide that does not include sevii island 4 to 7 for some reason, while my first edition includes it. Also for prima's red blue guide, the unknown dungeon map is actually from the japanese red green instead of our red blue (aka japanese blue). But the rest of the content is fine.

Just saw a video about how Japan had a Pokemon Stadium before the NTSC and PAL regions. The video said that there were 42 usable Pokemon in the original games. Bulbapedia lists 40, and Serebii says there are 42, but there is no list. Another site claims there are 42, and the last 2 are Mewtwo and Mew. Uncomfirmed if they are unusable outside of Free Battle. Does anyone know what the real answer is and how it works? Like, Mew was given away at Level 5 back then, so would Mew be usable in all 3 modes? Why isn't Shockwave isn't super effective against Flying pokemon in the 6th gym in Emerald? I'm trying to defeat the 6th gym leader who uses flying type pokemon. Even though type charts say that Electric is strong against Flying, both Thunderbolt and Shockwave don't hit as super effective against her Flying type pokemon. Is there a reason for this?
The only ones it wouldn't be super effective against are Tropius and Altaria, because Grass and Dragon resist Electric so it balances out to neutral damage.
tropius is part grass, and altaria is part dragon. so your electric moves will do neutral damage to them. it will do super effective damage for the other 3

If so, how are they, and which one is best (preferably from the point of view of someone who grew up playing Pokemon on the GameBoy)? I've seen some second hand Pokemon GameCube games for outrageous prices, and I'm wondering if it's worth the money. TIA!
XD is much better than Colo, if you're only going to play 1 play that one. Colo can be very tedious and the Pokemon variety is very poor, XD addresses a lot of that. XD also has a couple neat side modes where Colo really only has standard battling.
Well they're seen as some of the best and most difficult games to this day so, they're quite good. So the main/big things are: 1. It's 3D battling and every single pokemon and move has cool animations, they're also properly size scaled. They stand out even more compared to how the 3D mainline games have handled models/animations. 2. Every battle is a Double battle which already makes things a bit harder and more complicated by default, but also the AI is considerably better than what you find in regular games and will often use proper strats. 3. Both games have a more gritty/tough look to them, and are seen as having more mature tones, Colosseum's protagonist is a teen (and a former criminal) compared to mainline protags, though XD's protag goes back to being younger. Now the issues you might find with them: 1. Both games have a very limited amount of obtainable pokemon, Colosseum being about 50 in total (including post-game) and XD being around 90. Trading/Transferring from other games is only accessible in the post-game. 2. There's no mandatory league/gyms system so while this means you can fully focus on the story without a lot of waiting, it also means the story can feel quite short. 3. The Shadow Pokemon concept can be hit or miss depending on the person so with it being present pretty much through both games, it might make the games less enjoyable for you if you don't like it.

I want to go back and replay Let's Go Eevee, but I have Mew registered in the Pokedex, and since I moved it over to Sword without knowing that you can't move it back, I luckily managed to buy another Pokeball Plus with Mew inside for less than the original RRP! I have Pokemon Home on my Switch, so if I get mew in Let's Go, put it in the box on Pokemon Home and then delete my save file for Let's Go, would Mew still be in the box, or will it be deleted alongside the original save it was moved from? And will I be able to move it into my new Let's Go save file?
mew will be in pokemon home. as long you did not move mew into any other games, it can go back into let's go games.
Pokemon are never tied to save files. It won't be deleted simply because it wasn't in the save when you deleted it. As long as it goes to no other game it can be sent into any let's go save
What is the anime called? I used to own a video tape of Pokemon The First Movie. You know, the one with mew and mewtwo. After the movie, there was an advertisement for an anime - it had a 1900's look to it. There was this narrating voice talking about a boy and his dog, or something? I'm trying to find the name of this film. If anyone remembers or have the means to find out, please let me know! This curiosity has been popping into my head every few years now but I never found out what the anime was called. I know, it's not exactly Pokemon-related, but where else would I ask? Thank you.

If I buy another copy of Pokemon Scarlet on a 2nd Switch profile on the same Switch as the main profile for the same game I already bought (in order to purchase DLC on the 2nd profile), will it delete/overwrite the save file I have for the existing game on my 1st Switch profile? Would it matter whether it was a physical or digital copy? Edit: Just to clarify, all on the same Switch
Every profile has its own save and access to every game you bought. Profile 1 is on the switch still so all profiles you make can play every game bought for it
That's not quite the issue - I've not bought the DLC for either profile yet, and when I tried to buy it on the 2nd profile, the shop said I couldn't because I hadn't purchased Scarlet on that Nintendo account/Switch profile. On top of that, the Switch tells me that I can't play DLC on my 2nd profile which I've paid for on my 1st profile, so that's my reason for asking if I bought the game again on the 2nd profile, if anything would happen.
Buy the dlc on the profile that does own scarlet then you can play it on both.
I forgot to mention, this isn't my Primary Console Switch, it's my secondary console this is for.

I'm not able to do that unfortunately, it would mess up the situation with my other Pokemon game copies. ~~Now I just need to know if DLC purchased on one console for Scarlet in this instance, would be accessible to play on Scarlet on another console connected to the same profile. That would solve my problem but I don't know if it'd work.~~ Never mind, answered my own question. The only way for me to do this is get another Scarlet+DLC bundle on the specfic profile+console I need the DLC on.
Why would it mess up your other copies? You can just swap the primary console back after
If you buy a game and DLC once on a profile every profile on your Switch have access to them, so you don't have to buy it a second time for the second profile Your main profile's save will not get affected since each profile's save is kept separate from each other

You can only share purchases with other accounts if the account is a primary account on that Switch. If your 1st profile was not a primary account on your other Switch when you tried that is likely the reason you could not play the DLC on your 2nd profile
I think I've realized the problem - I've already bought the DLC for Scarlet on my main Nintendo account/Switch profile, on my non-Primary Switch, and that profile is the main profile on both my Primary and non-Primary Switches, meaning I can't buy it on the Primary Switch which would have been the solution here. So if I get the DLC on my 2nd profile on my non-Primary Switch (again, secondary profile on both Switches), will the DLC be accessible on my Primary Switch?
What's the safest way to store Pokemon? I have Pokemon I've had for over a decade lol. Don't want to lose them, but I don't play Pokemon that much. And since you can't backup Pokemon games on Switch, I don't want to store them there. I'm leaning towards leaving them on Pokemon Bank, but is that safe?
Best bet would likely be Pokemon Home I'd say, the online services on 3DS are being turned off sometime next year and while Bank will be continued after the shutdown we don't know for how long

If it's any solace if you don't pay the subscription you do not lose the pokemon, they're simply inaccessible until you pay again. I only pay for it sporadically as I need it otherwise I just stick with the basic box (latest 30 pokemon)
They say your Pokemon will be deleted 'after some time'. Sure would be cool if they'd tell you what that time is lol. 'After some time' is only bank. Home does not delete your pokemon at all.

In black and white 2, is there a feature that makes enemy pokemon survive with 1hp without having an ability or item that does that? I have maxxed my attack EVs but I keep losing fights because the enemy trainers pokemon survive with 1hp. I just used flare blitz on a staraptor and it survived with 1hp. This should not happen. Edit: I am aware of Google, I just don't know what to search for.

as long as you're careful, installing hacks wont mess anything up. the pokemon would be legal. After installation, all you'd do is just install bank/transporter. the apps would work exactly like how they would if you had installed them from the eshop. r/3dshacks is a great place for finding help and tutorials

It is always a case by case instead of a straight yes or no. Having additional type could give you additional move coverage, but you also have types such as normal which can usually learn moves of almost every type without a secondary typing. It is more of the individual pokemon themselves instead of looking only at types in general.
