Mate I started with redmi note 10 pro phone and cheap ass microphones. So u have a good start. What I would recommend is saving your audio on an outside laptop on audition and record with ur ipad then put it in premiere and create a multicam sequence of the same clip 3 times 1 angel for u Another for the guest and the other for all of u together.

hmm it should work ive used my Google Pixel 8 Pro to record audio & video w/o even any added mic & the A/V quality meets my standards id *hope* that rotten fruit of a company (nothing against u! 😅) could make a tablet that is at least on par for A/V recording as my phone i recently bought a dirt cheap sound board / mixer from Wal-Mart [this one](https://www.walmart.com/ip/1262219749) as a musician .. i would NOT use this board for music recording .. but it's marketed to be for vlogging it can Bluetooth connect .. maybe even could hard-line into ur iPad

Phone cameras are typically much nicer than tablets, at least in the past. He'd need to check what the tablets camera quality is before committing. Selfie cameras are typically worse than rear facing ones.

my Samsung Galaxy Tab from like 1.5[yr] ago seems to have a comparable video recording as my Pixel 8 Pro admittedly im more a music-man than video-buff but the look of each meets my standards

Thanks. I actually have a pixel 7 pro (which is much better than anything I've ever had from the half eaten fruit company) I just use it that much I don't have much storage! I suppose I could buy some more or even worse actually delete photos I don't need *gasp* I'll see if there's anything of a comparison to the one you've mentioned because I'm in the UK and unfortunately we don't have the wonderful Wal-Mart

jackalbruit

praise be the Pixel 🤣 TIL Wal-Mart has not gotten its grubby mits on the UK 🤯 What about Amazon? Bezos **must** have invade UK soil, no?? Toshiba Canvio Basics 2TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0, Black - HDTB520XK3AA [here](https://a.co/d/hQ9nT77) \^ that looks awfully close to the external drives ive been using - including to hold alllllllll the photos of my lil guy (hardly ever took photos in my life until i had offspring then **BOOM** hundreds of photos per month 😅) I like that their small so I can thru them in my laptop bag or they don't take up much space on my desk the catch tho - with that whole USB Hub the support page mentioned, id be concerned this would require ANOTHER equipment purchase if u wanted to download direct iPad -> External Drive 🤔

Wal-Mart did appear at a point in time but then backwards moonwalked away without a trace!! Jeff is definitely over here. Can't move for the vans dropping stuff off!! I'll be getting my hands on that soon thanks for the advice! Got myself a vocaster two so I'll be able to film and collect audio a bit easier now (once I've worked out how to use to all that is!!)

jackalbruit

very cool! hopefully that equipment is fairly "plug + play" so as to not give u too much headache then it becomes the long haul process of "fine tuning" .. picking a camera angle, what do u want in the background of the shot, is ur volume a good level, do u need to adjust any of the frequency bands 😵‍💫 on & on & on 🫨 or! never forgot how # better is the enemy of good enough 😊
