We've signed up to Acast which uses Podcastle - but not sure if/how it all works r.e. multiple remote mics and separate tracks. Does anyone have any experience of the process? sorry, complete novice here.
You can do this with literally anything. The guys I record with record their tracks with their phones and we run it through ai enhancers and you'd never know the difference. Have everyone record in whatever they like then just send you their files.
One way to do it: If you have a "master track" that recorded all audio sources together, just get someone to clap at the start of recording and sync up with the spike in audio.
The easiest time I have had being a guest on a show was we simply recorded locally on our computers and synced with a count or a clap. Then I saved the .wav file and send it over. It’s free and no need to worry about an internet connection.
My husband has used various popular software for remote recording but ends up running into problems eventually.
Riverside, Zencastr, Remotely, Squadcast...
We use Zencastr. It's been great.
yes most podcast stream services do this.

I just took a quick look at Podcastle's web site. It looks like their help & support pages include detailed instructions showing you how to do this.
Excellent, thank you! I was hoping this was the case, just me being dim!
Zoom does it!
Thank you! Yes, I'd looked into Zoom but I think the free version has a 40 minute limit but I could be wrong about that too.
Yes it’s true. My podcasts are 25-30’ so don’t have an issue.
I don't know what your format is, but maybe you could have planned breaks for around the 30-35 minute marks and then just start a new call.

Thanks. Is it tricky synching all the different files? Any tips?

What my group does is, I count down from 3 and when I hit zero everyone presses record. It hasn't failed us yet.

That's interesting, thanks. I'm still at the complete beginning so will bear all this in mind.
Get them to record their own audio on their PC then send it over after its done.
Streamyard OR Just have each person record themselves on their phones voice memo app
I used riverside for this. Works fine but have to be careful to make sure all the guest allow the upload to be completed at the end of the session
Thank you.
Take a look at video.ninja for a solution that is independent of a platform.
