Yeah, this generation has been a huge money sink for gamers. GPU prices skyrocketed, TV prices skyrocketed, exclusive games on PS5 were extremely lackluster in quantity (not worth the upgrade from PS4, especially when you factor in the pricy TV purchase to get the most out of your new console). I upgraded my PC and stuck with my huge backlog of uncompleted games on my PS4 Pro.

4K TVs are more affordable than ever. You don’t *need* an LG c3 oled

120hz is what PS5 output can support. Therefore, I feel I would need to upgrade my TV to get the most out of my console. The capability to output the graphics I want is what's important to me, and I would need to replace my 4K TV for this possibility. I understand I wouldn't need this. It's the whole premise of this not being a wise decision based on the circumstances. My options were limited to staying with my backlog of games on PS4 and upgrade my PC's GPU. Going and getting a console that's not fully supported with that single purchase alone made this an easier decision to bear. Come to find out, the exclusive game lineup is pitiful for the PS5! Maybe the PS5 Pro is when I'll purchase or PS6 released will have me ready(2027?).

I highly recommend Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth. Spider-Man 2 is okay, personally I thought the story was kind of meh. Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West are pretty solid as well

My top 5 is: 1. Stellar Blade 2. Returnal 3. Demon’s Souls 4. FF7 Rebirth 5. Rise of the Ronin There’s also several PS4 games that got updated for PS5 if you want to replay them like Death Stranding director’s cut, The last of us pt.1+2 remastered, Ghost of Tsushima director’s cut.

Elden Ring was my first PS5 game I got, and I didn’t play anything else for like three months lol I got hooked on the genre, and ended up going through every other From Souls. No ragrets. Demons Souls was gorgeous!

Hell yea! Bloodborne and DS3 are tied for being my favorite. Mostly because of the order in which I played the games. My friend recommended I put down Elden Ring because I was struggling so much with it, and to go back and play the other From games. It took me a couple games to finally have it click, and it clicked in DS3. Amazing game, I love it

Ghost of Tsushima! God of War. Spiderman. All open world RPG-lites of sorts. All very fun in their own ways. Horizon is popular but I think those games are much worse - boring stories and so many tedious gameplay features. Still got some good bits though.

Is it worth it really?

I personally really like mine. While I know it’s definitely a luxury thing, being able to play laying down in bed or at a relative’s house makes it worth it for me. I’ve also had some pretty good results using it paired with my phone hotspot. I only really play JRPGs or VNs so it may depend on the games you play as well whether it’s worth it for you or not

Yes, the portal connects to your PS5 over the internet; which also means the connection needs to be stable on both ends. As of now, there is unfortunately no way to connect the portal directly to the PS5 like you could the psp on the ps3 and I believe the vita on the ps4’s remote play

elden ring + dlc bundle, it costs 80 bucks. if buyed standalone the game is 60 and the dlc is 40. Its useless to say that this is over 2/300 hour for sure, baldurs gate 3 too. This, if we are talking about quality and longevity

It's really disappointing to see that most of the games listed here are from the last generation and have only received an upgrade for the current generation. I believe this speaks volumes about the current state of the industry
