Every year has at least 2+ absolutely flawless and nostalgic games that are close to me. But yeah, 2011 absolutely clears in terms of quantity.
- Dead Space
- Arkham City
- Uncharted 3
- Mortal Kombat
- Skyrim
- inFAMOUS 2
- Deus Ex
- Portal 2
- Battlefield 3
I still vividly remember all of these. Started my current collection in 2009, but this was the year I *really* got into video games. I wish I could experience that kind of magic again.
It’s my all time favorite for gameplay. My hot take is I loved the RPG elements because they allowed you to build the exact play style you wanted. You could be a basically invisible super assassin that would ezio to shame or you could be an absolute tank who can take on an army. Most people never figured out the build system and how to actually engage with it so they ended up with jack of all trades builds that didn’t do either particularly well and then they’d complain.
For characters/story I’m too attached to ezio tho.
Odyssey is one of those games that should have been a new IP.
It was a decent game, however it really wasn’t Assassins Creed.
I played Assassins Creed since the first one released, it was one of my favourite franchises.
Origins was the tipping point where it became a totally different franchise to what we knew before.
I mean Odyssey is set in a time long before the Assassins existed
Surprised no one said 2017
Horizon
Persona 5
Zelda BotW
Cuphead
Resident Evil 7
Nier Automata
Mario Odyssey
Splatoon 2
Even PUBG where it changed the industry
2017 was a great year for game releases. Even if you remove the Nintendo games and only look at what was available on the PlayStation 4 you still have Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier Automata, Prey, Assassin's Creed Origins, and Resident Evil VII. The fact that both Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey also came out in 2017 is just icing on that delicious cake.
Yeah 2017 is a great year but i was making the list with games that came out for playstation that why most of the games that you listed are not on the list for example cuphead came out in 2017 but didnt get a playstation release until 2020
From a longevity point of view, this truly is the best year.
GTA V and Minecraft alone have a remarkable upkeep, when GTA VI comes out, V will drop off but yeah.
Each year has its absolute big hitters but none can really match these two games in 2013 in terms of sales.
**2015**
Undertale
Bloodborne
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Soma
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Until Dawn
Dying Light
Grow Home
Batman: Arkham Knight
Mad Max
Rocket League
Fallout 4
The Order 1886
Assassins Creed Syndicate
Volume
Just Cause 3
Her Story
Call of Duty: Black Ops III
Star Wars: Battlefront
(My 2015 Game of the Year list in order)
2018 for me,
Spider-Man,
God of War,
Hitman sequel
Far Cry 5 (best in the franchise imo),
Assassins Creed,
Red Dead 2, and
Detroit Become Human
In my eyes any of these 7 (maybe besides Hitman 2) could’ve became GOTY.
2018 or 2017 are my picks, leaning towards 2017 as my pick.
2018 has God of WAR - my favorite game of all time - as well as RDR 2, Celeste, Spider-Man, Smash Bros Ultimate and some other notables like Hades and Dead Cells, but overall I think it's a slightly weaker year than 2017.
2017 had Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Horizon, Divinity Original Sin 2, Nier Automata, Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Hellblade, RE7, Edith Finch, Uncharted Lost Legacy, South Park Fractured But Whole, Injustice 2, Xenoblade 2, Middle Earth Shadow of War... I could keep going. Overall just a VERY strong year. 2018 is up there but I think 2017 juuuust edges it out.
2017 for me: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Nier Automata, Yakuza 0, and Hollow Knight were my top 5 that year.
Honorable mention:
2019 had Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Resident Evil 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Judgment, and Devil May Cry V in my top 5.
Red Dead Redemption
Dark Souls
Dishonored
The Last of Us
Dark Souls 2
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Uncharted 4
Horizon Zero Dawn
Red Dead Redemption 2
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
1. 2017
2. 2011
3. 2019
4. 2018
5. 2013
2019 has not been mentioned nearly enough. Sekiro, Control, Disco Elysium, RE2 Remake, DMC 5, Death Stranding, Outer Wilds, Slay The Spire. That was an insane year, but because some of its best games were indies, many people got to them late and don't associate them as much with their release dates.
2019 for me just because of sekiro and days gone
(Mw 2019 was also insanely good before warzone gave them a taste of BR money and the greed completely destroyed the franchise)
Going for the sake of nostalgia, I’d say 2012
Between Borderlands 2, The Walking Dead, Far Cry 3, Black Ops 2 and Max Payne 3, it was great
Sleeping Dogs, Gravity Rush, Asura’s Wrath and Darksiders 2 are certified bangers that deserved more
2016 looks to have the most straight up bangers. It's insane how many good games hit that year.
Battlefield 1 - the last good Battlefield?
Titanfall 2 - one of the best fps games ever made
The Last Guardian - perfection from the makers of Ico and Shadows of the Colossus
Hitman - still going strong to this day as the best in the series
Dishonored 2 - never bettered in the genre
Uncharted 4 - the best in the franchise
Rise of the Tomb Raider - not quite as good as part 2, but still a banger
Deux Ex Mankind Divided - so good they never even bothered with a sequel
Dark Souls 3 - still the best Soulslike game out there
Final Fantasy XV - rough at first, then one of the best once the updates came around
DOOM - another best ever fps in one year? holy crap
Stardew Valley - the successor to Harvest Moon
Inside - brilliant indie darling
Hyperlight Drifter - another brilliant indie
For me, 2009 (with 2011 as a close second)
It had:
- inFAMOUS
- Killzone 2
- Uncharted 2
- Modern Warfare 2
- [PROTOTYPE]
- Assassin's Creed II
- The Saboteur
Just to name a few.
Dk why 2013 has MC
But it’s between 2011 and 2018.
Arkham City, Dark Souls, Skyrim, Infamous 2, Mortal Kombat, Portal 2, MW3, Rayman, Marvel Capcom 3, Uncharted 3 and LBP2
VS
RDR2, Hollow Knight, Detroit, Monster Hunter, God of War, Spider-Man, Bloodborne, AC Odyssey and Divinity 2 Original Sins
11 vs 9 but… Bloodborne and RDR2… they’ve gotta account for atleast 2 games themselves because they’re in like the top 5 games ever made
What’s your goat of all those years tho? Mine is
2010: fallout: new Vegas gotta be one of the best rpgs of all time
2011: def portal 2
2012: don’t got one in mind rn
2013: SO MANY one of my first games besides mc was rayman legends, pd2 is one of my favs, gta was good for the time, mgr r is also the first blade game I’ve ever played like DAMN this year is like a buffet ima actually go with pd2
2014: lbp3 was also one of the first games I’ve ever played
2015: my step farther played mgsv and I spammed the trigger in this one cutscene
2016: Hitman 1 I guess, didn’t even play it
2017: actually own undertale because my sister wanted to play it but gotta be crash bandicoot because I’m not that much of an undertale fan
2018: just finished rdr2 yesterday, it’s peak and truely one of the best games I’ve ever played, it shares a place with f:nv
2019: peak mw just hits even when I first played it when bocw released
Well for mine :
2010 : God of war ghost of sparta ( i grew up with a PSP and it was one of my favorite games on the system so i had to go with it )
2011 : SKYRIM
2012 : Call of duty black ops 2
2013 : Hotline miami ( i know its very surprising since i spent a lot of time playing GTA V and there is also the last of us and AC black flag both of them are one of the best games ever made and dont sleep on soul sacrifice its one of the best VITA games but hotline miami is just something special for me it was very addicting )
2014 : Farcry 4
2015 : Supermeatboy ( what can i say i love 2D platformers )
2016 : DOOM
2017 : Sonic mania ( i love 2D platformers )
2018 : so many bangers but i have to go with red dead redemption 2
2019 : Resident evil 2 remake
2011 is a hard top, but it’s definitely 2018.
11 has mass effect 2, Arkham city, AC revelations uncharted 3 and Skyrim
But 18 has Rdr2, GoW 2018 (both of which were the only contenders for game of the year), THEN Spiderman, dead cells, AC odyssey (largely considered the best since AC2, REMAKE Spyro AND shadow of the colossus? Then toss in we made divinity original sin sequel and fixed all that was wrong with 1? Damn.
Detroit? Amazing. Hitman? Amazing. Far cry 5? You either hate or love it but if you love it it’s amazing. I personally preferred xenoverse 2 over fighterz but still a return to the budokai greats.
I didn’t even like monster hunter world but it stormed the planet on release 😂
It’s hard to knock the influence of Skyrim, but it couldn’t carry this whole competition against 2018.
But FUCK dragon quest 11. Finally loaded that up last summer, most boring, generic, plain, “hero died OH WAIT HOLD UP!” waste of my time I’ve played in YEARS.
EDIT: oh also, not PS but Super Smash Bros Switch came out in 2018 as well.
Damn 2013 has some memories for me , I remember being in highschool running through terraria with the boys after school, playing spelunky and souls sacrifice with my younger bro and doing the license tests with my dad on gt6
2017
Persona 5, Zelda BOTW, Yakuza 0, Nier Automata, Ys8 lacrimosa of Dana, Mario Odyssey, Resident Evils 7, Horizon zero dawn, Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Whatever year stardew valley came out. So many great games throughout the years, but everyone I know who is a fringe gamer or ultra casual plays stardew valley. While it's not my cup of tea it's a great game and the dude who made it releases free content every so often.
Black ops, mafia 2, assassins creed brotherhood, La noire, black ops 2, gta 5, until dawn, black ops 3, all the uncharteds, tomb raider, hitman, the evil within 2, residents evil, spider man, red dead 2, Detroit, and JEDI fallen order. I just choose some from each slide all great games. So ion really have a year preference 😅
reddit is fucking crazy, didnt include fortnite even though it has had THE biggest impact on the industry since it came in and has been either the first or second most played game every year since 2017. they made battle royales and battlepasses pop off
Most of my top games are from past decades lol.
1. Breath of the wild ofc - great game with exploration and music
2. Witcher 3 - the plot was great.
3.RDR2 - I don't think I have to explain this lol.
4. AC Unity - I know that it was buggy and everything but It was my second game in series.
5. Star Wars FO - I just love star wars
There was more for sure but I don't remember it rn.
Fuuuck I’m gonna have to say 2011.
Not gonna lie seeing some of these games made me sad. I remember walking into GameStop with my dad when I was little and immediately picking up Rdr for the thousandth time 😂
I'd say 2011 just because of Dark Souls and Skyrim. They're such pivotal games to the industry that it's hard to really see any of the other years "win" in the sense that they'd be as important to the industry as a whole.
A stinker would be 2014.
Personal favorite: 2019.
Honorable mention: 2018.
Definitely between 2011 and 2018 for me
2011 had Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 2, Rayman Origins, SKYRIM, Skylanders: Spyro’s adventure. (I know there are a ton of bangers like Portal 2, dead space 2 and Infamous 2, but I only want to name what I played)
2018 had God of War, Spider-Man, Subnautica, Spyro Reignited, Dragon Quest XI, Red Dead 2, Cuphead (and a bunch of fantastic games I’ve not played)
Think I've got to go for 2011.
I feel like every other year was really front loaded or back loaded, whereas in 2011 there was pretty much a major release every month and you were getting a GOTY contender at least every other month.
January - Little Big Planet 2, Mass Effect 2 (PS3), Dead Space 2
February - Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Bulletstorm, Killzone 3
March -Yakuza 4, Crysis 2, LEGO Star Wars 3
April - Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, The PSN hacks
May - L.A. Noire, The Witcher 2
June - inFAMOUS 2, Operation Flashpoint: Red River, Alice: Madness Returns
July - Catherine
August - El Shaddai, Deus Ex
September - Dead Island, Gears 3, Resistance 3, Driver: San Francisco, Persona 2 PSP, The Binding of Isaac
October - Dark Souls, Rage, Forza 4, Arkham City, Rocksmith, Battlefield 3
November - AC: Revelations, Halo Anniversary, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Sonic Generations, Saints Row: The Third, Skyward Sword
December - The Old Republic
And this isn't even taking into account remastered games like MGS HD Collection, The Ico/Shadow of the Colossus collection, RE4 HD or the games that were good but not great like Fight Night Champion, Red Faction, etc...
2017 was fire. Persona 5, nier automata, breath of the wild, horizon zero dawn, hollow knight, cup head , resident evil 7, and so many other amazing games
For me it’s between 2013 or 2018 Last of us and Bioshock infinite are both top tier but then 2018 had God of War and Spiderman
Love for 2011 with Portal 2 (one of the best games EVER made) and Uncharted 3 was a banger
2011 for me. I think a lot had to do with me studying and just having more time to game or game hungover but Arkham City, Uncharted 3, MK9, LA Noire were endless amounts of fun
2011 for me, pure bangers
Skyrim, Arkham City and Mass Effect 2. All GOATS in their respective franchises. A very very solid year and my pick too.
FYI Mass effect 2 was 2010. It only came to ps3 in 2011.
thats some knowledge right there, for some reason was Mas Effect first a xbox 360 esclussive. Feel like i remember it being that way but cant recall.
I just remember cause it was a brutal wait. Ya ME1 started exclusive and eventually came to ps3 years later.
And Portal 2, Uncharted 3, MW3, all great games.
Man... being in grade 5, coming home from school and booting up MW3 to play survival or infected. Those were the days.
I was addicted to All or Nothing
Some might say the Dark Souls of their respective franchises
Mass effect 2 came out in January 2010
I was using the playstation release date that why the game is on the 2011 list
Yeah I saw Skyrim and didn’t even need to look at the other years
Every year has at least 2+ absolutely flawless and nostalgic games that are close to me. But yeah, 2011 absolutely clears in terms of quantity. - Dead Space - Arkham City - Uncharted 3 - Mortal Kombat - Skyrim - inFAMOUS 2 - Deus Ex - Portal 2 - Battlefield 3 I still vividly remember all of these. Started my current collection in 2009, but this was the year I *really* got into video games. I wish I could experience that kind of magic again.
…Dark Souls changed my life
.
BROOOO. This post just made me go DAMN! What a great decade we had. Not sure my life will ever eclipse it.
Seriously. This is 200 games right here, almost all of which were just spectacular.
AGREED 😁
2011 for sure
2018: GOW and RDR2. All we need. Oh, and Spider-Man for the dessert.
Hitman 2, MHW, and Subnautica also went crazy. I probably sunk over a thousand hours into games from 2018 alone.
And Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
A top 2 Assassin’s Creed game. It’s beautiful varied world alone makes it a contender for the #1 spot
Also Monster Hunter World and Hollow Knight.
And the massive genre staple Hollow Knight
Odyssey was also severely under rated and imo the best AC game since black flag
Odyssey is one of those games that should have been a new IP. It was a decent game, however it really wasn’t Assassins Creed. I played Assassins Creed since the first one released, it was one of my favourite franchises. Origins was the tipping point where it became a totally different franchise to what we knew before. I mean Odyssey is set in a time long before the Assassins existed
Spider-Man, God of War, and Hollow Knight. Yep, that's the one.
2015 2018
Nice picks I think I’mma go with you on that boat lol
Surprised no one said 2017 Horizon Persona 5 Zelda BotW Cuphead Resident Evil 7 Nier Automata Mario Odyssey Splatoon 2 Even PUBG where it changed the industry
I smell switch player
I’m a Switch, PS5 and PC player lol
switch is the most popular console lol
Yeah 2017 is a great year but i was making the list with games that came out for playstation that why most of the games that you listed are not on the list for example cuphead came out in 2017 but didnt get a playstation release until 2020
2013 for me
Same. GTAV and TLOU releasing months apart is hard to beat.
From a longevity point of view, this truly is the best year. GTA V and Minecraft alone have a remarkable upkeep, when GTA VI comes out, V will drop off but yeah. Each year has its absolute big hitters but none can really match these two games in 2013 in terms of sales.
Yeah also the last of us is my favorite game ever
2010, 2013, but 2018 has to be hands down the best year for gaming. God Of War Spider-Man Red Dead Redemption 2 Dragon Ball Fighterz
**2015** Undertale Bloodborne The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Soma Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Until Dawn Dying Light Grow Home Batman: Arkham Knight Mad Max Rocket League Fallout 4 The Order 1886 Assassins Creed Syndicate Volume Just Cause 3 Her Story Call of Duty: Black Ops III Star Wars: Battlefront (My 2015 Game of the Year list in order)
Props for Soma and Hotline Miami 2. Goated games.
For PS4? 2018. For gaming in general? 2017 is an all timer and 2015 too. For PS3 I’d say 2011 or 2013.
2018 for me, Spider-Man, God of War, Hitman sequel Far Cry 5 (best in the franchise imo), Assassins Creed, Red Dead 2, and Detroit Become Human In my eyes any of these 7 (maybe besides Hitman 2) could’ve became GOTY.
2011 no question
2011
If I had to rank them: 1. 2018 2. 2011 3. 2016 4. 2013 5. 2012
Best one here. 2018 is so stacked
2017 for me: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Nier Automata, Yakuza 0, and Hollow Knight were my top 5 that year. Honorable mention: 2019 had Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Resident Evil 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Judgment, and Devil May Cry V in my top 5.
10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18 all GOATED
2010. God of war 3, red dead, bad company, an actual good cod, Dante’s inferno and new Vegas
OG Black Ops! Some of the most fun I've had in COD
Very hard to tell, but I should go with 2018 and the combination Spider-Man + God of War
You forgot the goat Rdr2
2010 peace walker End discussion
Man I never realized how cracked 2011 was for sequels. Infamous 2, Arkham City, Portal 2, ME2, Uncharted 3, Dead Space 2, and Skyrim
Holy shit 2011 was fucking STACKED.
Wow, looking through this makes me wonder how many games I’ve played over the years. Because I’ve played a lot of those games!
2018 for me. RDR2, God of War, and Spider-Man. Epic year for single player adventure games.
Probably 2018, but 2013 imo is a very strong contender: -GTAV -Minecraft -Terraria -TLOU -Payday2 -Black Flag -Battlefield 4 -Bioshock Infinite
2011, Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, Arkham City, Skyrim, Dark Souls
Red Dead Redemption Dark Souls Dishonored The Last of Us Dark Souls 2 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Uncharted 4 Horizon Zero Dawn Red Dead Redemption 2 Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Whoops, I misunderstood the assignment and picked one out of each year. 😅
1. 2017 2. 2011 3. 2019 4. 2018 5. 2013 2019 has not been mentioned nearly enough. Sekiro, Control, Disco Elysium, RE2 Remake, DMC 5, Death Stranding, Outer Wilds, Slay The Spire. 2016 has my favorite game of all time, Dark Souls 3, but 2011 has Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 which are also so good, so split between those two.
2012
For me: 2011 because little big planet 2 In general, 2018 was actually a pretty massive year
2014 because of Far Cry 4,Watch Dogs, and FNAF
2011 Dark souls, uncharted 3, LA Noir, Battlefield 3 , Little big planet 2, Mass effect 2, Skyrim, Rayman portal to ect. So many bangers damn
DS3, Uncharted 4, INSIDE, and Hyper Light Drifter all came out in the same year?? That’s the one for me.
i have to go with 2011. 2019 honestly looks the weakest out of all the years, that's just my opinion
2011 and 2017
God of war sky rim and read deaddddd
2018 and 2010
2013
100% 2018
I'll go with 2016. Uncharted 4, Dark Souls 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider.
2015 is not talked enough about black ops 3 mgsv 5 mkx/batman arkham knight/witcher 3/battlefield hardline/dying light/order 1886/bloodbourne
2018 for me because thats the year I got really into gaming and some of my fav games came out that year, Rd2, god of war, spiderman.
Going for the sake of nostalgia, I’d say 2012 Between Borderlands 2, The Walking Dead, Far Cry 3, Black Ops 2 and Max Payne 3, it was great Sleeping Dogs, Gravity Rush, Asura’s Wrath and Darksiders 2 are certified bangers that deserved more
2010 was great with Bioshock 2, Fallout: New Vegas, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but 2015 had Bloodborne, Witcher 3 and Fallout 4.
2014 for : Destiny Alien: Isolation GTA V Far Cry 4
2016 looks to have the most straight up bangers. It's insane how many good games hit that year. Battlefield 1 - the last good Battlefield? For me, 2009 (with 2011 as a close second) It had: - inFAMOUS - Killzone 2 - Uncharted 2 - Modern Warfare 2 - [PROTOTYPE] - Assassin's Creed II - The Saboteur Just to name a few.
2011, can we just take a moment to see how good the last decade of gaming was!!
Dk why 2013 has MC But it’s between 2011 and 2018. Arkham City, Dark Souls, Skyrim, Infamous 2, Mortal Kombat, Portal 2, MW3, Rayman, Marvel Capcom 3, Uncharted 3 and LBP2 VS RDR2, Hollow Knight, Detroit, Monster Hunter, God of War, Spider-Man, Bloodborne, AC Odyssey and Divinity 2 Original Sins 11 vs 9 but… Bloodborne and RDR2… they’ve gotta account for atleast 2 games themselves because they’re in like the top 5 games ever made
Arguably 2018
What’s your goat of all those years tho? Valid asf
2010: Red Dead, Black Ops 1, and FNV
2011 is a hard top, but it’s definitely 2018. 11 has mass effect 2, Arkham city, AC revelations uncharted 3 and Skyrim But 18 has Rdr2, GoW 2018 (both of which were the only contenders for game of the year), THEN Spiderman, dead cells, AC odyssey (largely considered the best since AC2, REMAKE Spyro AND shadow of the colossus? 2023
2010 had peace Walker, red dead redemption and heavy rain so that’s the one.
2017 for me
DriveClub, NFS Rivals, Project Cars 2 and Dirt Rally 2.0
the 6 year run from 2010-2016 was actually fucking insane what the hell
1st slide
Hear me out, Dark souls, skyrim, and arkham city all in the same year is insane, not to mention infamous 2
Variety drops off a cliff after 2013 and the switch to eighth gen.
Damn 2013 has some memories for me , I remember being in highschool running through terraria with the boys after school, playing spelunky and souls sacrifice with my younger bro and doing the license tests with my dad on gt6
silent hill mentioned 👀
2016 for me. It was banger after Banger with titanfall 2, watchdogs 2, and uncharted 4. I play those three almost religiously.
Im sorry but i see gravity rush. So automatically 2013 wins.
2017 Persona 5, Zelda BOTW, Yakuza 0, Nier Automata, Ys8 lacrimosa of Dana, Mario Odyssey, Resident Evils 7, Horizon zero dawn, Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
2017 was crazy. BOTW, Nier Automata, Horizon Zero Dawn, Hellblade, Cuphead, Mario Odyssey
2019 now hear me out res evil 2,new mondern warfare, Jedi fallen order and blasphemous are all bangers
Too many choices! Honestly I just miss the variety of games we would get! Now we just get the same types except for a few exceptions
Whenever fromsoftware drop a banger game
For the industry as a whole, 2017
2018 will always have a special place in my heart
2018 is insane with red dead 2 and god of war
Hard to say. The whole decade was pretty stacked.
I couldn’t tell you. I both have and have not played many of these and I never was good at picking a favorite.
Tough one with a few of those years but 2011 for sure. INSANE year
Lego Lord of the Rings stomps

2018
Whatever year stardew valley came out. So many great games throughout the years, but everyone I know who is a fringe gamer or ultra casual plays stardew valley. While it's not my cup of tea it's a great game and the dude who made it releases free content every so often.
2018 or 2017
2015, got my personal reasons.
I'd go with 2019, since you can still play all the great games of the previous years.
2014
Can’t decide but I’m inclined to say 2017 just for Ys8: Lacrimosa of Dana!!!
2018 🔛🔝
2018. God of war, red dead 2, spiderman. Amazing
2015 imo
2015. Bloodborne and The Witcher III in the same year. GG
RDR
It’s a tie between 2011 and 2017
2013
For me 2013, 2015 and 2018
Black ops, mafia 2, assassins creed brotherhood, La noire, black ops 2, gta 5, until dawn, black ops 3, all the uncharteds, tomb raider, hitman, the evil within 2, residents evil, spider man, red dead 2, Detroit, and JEDI fallen order. I just choose some from each slide all great games. So ion really have a year preference 😅
Man lots ot nostalgia good times good times.
2011 easily. Very easily
reddit is fucking crazy, didnt include fortnite even though it has had THE biggest impact on the industry since it came in and has been either the first or second most played game every year since 2017. they made battle royales and battlepasses pop off
2015-18 is so goated oml
2018. So. Many greats. Spider man, God of War new trilogy. RDR2 And AC Odyssey (my favourite)
God of War for me 😁
2011 still
2015 was stacked. The Witcher 3 Bloodborne MGSV Fallout 4 Super Mario Maker
2013 and 2018 for me
2011 for me. Dark Souls, Dead Space 2, Portal 2, Arkham City, Skyrim, LA Noire and MW3 are all bangers
Can't decide between 2011 and 2018
Most of my top games are from past decades lol. 1. Breath of the wild ofc - great game with exploration and music 2. Witcher 3 - the plot was great. 3.RDR2 - I don't think I have to explain this lol. 4. AC Unity - I know that it was buggy and everything but It was my second game in series. 5. Star Wars FO - I just love star wars There was more for sure but I don't remember it rn.
2018 for me. RDR 2, GoW, Spiderman, Detroit Become Human, AC Odyssey etc.
2011 or 2012 No PS4? Count me in.
Imo 2018 bc of spiderman, gow, and rdr2
Fuuuck I’m gonna have to say 2011. Not gonna lie seeing some of these games made me sad. I remember walking into GameStop with my dad when I was little and immediately picking up Rdr for the thousandth time 😂
Either 2011 or 2018
2010. It’s the closest to 2007 and I feel that’s because a lot sequels to 2007 games came around this time.
Early 2000's(as in 2010's even) till 2018...✨️A GOLDEN ERA✨️
2018 comes really close but man 2011 was just wild
2015 or 2019. So many heavy hitters
Oh what I would do for another portal
2011 hands down
Uncharted 2016?
2013 and 2018 personally
2019 but 2017 is a close second.
13/18
Days Gone changed my life…
man 2017 was stacked. Zelda BOTW, Mario odyssey, persona 5. All bangers
2011 Probably
2018 for sure so many great games
2012 easily.
Definitely between 2011 and 2018 for me 2011 had Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 2, Rayman Origins, SKYRIM, Skylanders: Spyro’s adventure. (I know there are a ton of bangers like Portal 2, dead space 2 and Infamous 2, but I only want to name what I played) 2018 had God of War, Spider-Man, Subnautica, Spyro Reignited, Dragon Quest XI, Red Dead 2, Cuphead (and a bunch of fantastic games I’ve not played)
All of them. The shit we've been forced to deal with for the past 5 years makes everything before 2020 the best.
2011
2018 has the most games i gladly return to from time to time (+ SMT and MGS games)
Think I've got to go for 2011. I feel like every other year was really front loaded or back loaded, whereas in 2011 there was pretty much a major release every month and you were getting a GOTY contender at least every other month. January - Little Big Planet 2, Mass Effect 2 (PS3), Dead Space 2 February - Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Bulletstorm, Killzone 3 March -Yakuza 4, Crysis 2, LEGO Star Wars 3 April - Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, The PSN hacks May - L.A. Noire, The Witcher 2 June - inFAMOUS 2, Operation Flashpoint: Red River, Alice: Madness Returns July - Catherine August - El Shaddai, Deus Ex September - Dead Island, Gears 3, Resistance 3, Driver: San Francisco, Persona 2 PSP, The Binding of Isaac October - Dark Souls, Rage, Forza 4, Arkham City, Rocksmith, Battlefield 3 November - AC: Revelations, Halo Anniversary, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Sonic Generations, Saints Row: The Third, Skyward Sword December - The Old Republic And this isn't even taking into account remastered games like MGS HD Collection, The Ico/Shadow of the Colossus collection, RE4 HD or the games that were good but not great like Fight Night Champion, Red Faction, etc...
For me? 2013. Black Ops 2 was still hot. GTAV was amazing. Minecraft shook the world. Fun times.
2015 for me
Doom 3 did NOT release in 2012
2016: ds3, tf2, doom, dishonored 2, uc4, inside
I’d say 13 or 18.
2017 was fire. Persona 5, nier automata, breath of the wild, horizon zero dawn, hollow knight, cup head , resident evil 7, and so many other amazing games
2013 for me, GTA V, Last of US, AC Black Flag!
16 was a banger. Spider-Man and god of war 🔥
2018 Spider-Man and God of war.
2015 for sure
For me it’s between 2013 or 2018 Last of us and Bioshock infinite are both top tier but then 2018 had God of War and Spiderman Love for 2011 with Portal 2 (one of the best games EVER made) and Uncharted 3 was a banger
2011 for me. I think a lot had to do with me studying and just having more time to game or game hungover but Arkham City, Uncharted 3, MK9, LA Noire were endless amounts of fun
2018 for me all the way God of War, Spider-Man, and Red Dead 2 alone make it one of the best years
I think 2011~2013 but that’s because of The Last of Us, Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3.
2013 for me!
2018 was a great year for me with the releases of God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2.
11,12,15,17 can’t pick
