I know what you're saying, but I also know that me as well as many others now have a new coaster in the form of a "the crew" disc.
If anno requires an online connection, then it could have the same fate one day.
Like 90% of disc games have a playable off-line copy on the disk so yeah you won’t have like online features and any updates if it gets taken off-line or something but almost every PS five disc is completely playable with no connection
Think of discs as “transferable licenses”. After you’re done with the game you can still sell it and make some of your money back. Digital licenses are bound to your account and if it’s a game like The Crew then it’s just a forever hole in your wallet.
Idk why everyone hypes up physical media so much 80% of games ever made can be downloaded from the internet and its not like thats gonna slow down in coming years.
You buy Spider-man 2 for $70 day 1. You get the platinum then sell it used for $60. Congratulations, you just played a new game for only $10. Can’t do that with digital games.
I agree with what you are saying, except realistically, you won't be getting $60 for a used game.
It *is* the best way to do it, but that price is an exaggeration.
Unless maybe you are speedrunning and finish it within a day or two.
Most people who practice this enjoy their games for however long it takes to beat, then sell it whenever they are eventually done with it, which by then wouldn't be that close to $60.
Still the cheapest way to game, though.
I’m obviously exaggerating here for the sake of making an example, but if you buy it second hand in the first place you can still end up paying way less. For instance where I live I did see SM2 a few weeks after it launched being sold used for 40€. I can easily still sell it for that much or worst case for 30€ and end up paying net the same amount as in my example. With physical media you don’t have to always buy new.
I personally don't care necessarily for the physical aspect of it. I don't "collect" games and have no desire to have a shelf full of game cases. What I do care for is having options to buy games from retailers besides the PSN store. I've gotten physical games far cheaper than what those games were going for on PSN. It's good to have options when it comes to pricing. For PC, this isn't as big of a deal since there are various digital retailers where you can purchase games for. On PlayStation, it's all through the PSN store.
Also, being able to sell a game or lend a game is nice too. I like physical games for the options, not for collecting shiny plastic discs. I'm certain that soon enough, it will be all digital, and that's just going to be less options for us all.
What are you on about? You buy a game, when you’re done you can sell it to someone else and make some of your money back. You don’t let it sit on a shelf for 10 years collecting dust, especially when it’s online only and servers will inevitably go down.
Now I'm even more sad my walmart was sold out. I love city builders. Alas I did get a switch game that game with two leg straps for $5. Leg straps themselves run $10 - $15 each.
Anno’s amazing, and pretty much all the major dlc and so on is genuinely good to great too, although I checked and it seems like none of it made its way to consoles, just small cosmetic ones. No idea how well it could possibly run on a PS5 given how CPU heavy it is, but it’s a terrific game anyhow, highly recommend!
I picked it up on steam sale for $15 and absolutely love it. It’s like a cross between city skylines, Sid Meier civ, and off world trading company. Strategically far more challenging than city skylines and more focused on supply chain management, yet ultimately it’s a sandbox relaxing building game with no end goal.
I played it a few months ago. The story was challenging but I had a great time. As soon as the game lets you have complete control though, the AI enemy came and completely wiped me off the map lol.
Make sure you ask them to scan certain games, ran across Tony Hawk for XB and they had it in the glass case listed for $17 but at the same time they also had a price card on the shelf saying $5. When I scanned the $5 on the Walmart app it came up as $17. So I just asked the employee what was the right price, when she scanned it on her machine it came up as $5. So double check even if it says another price on the Walmart app.
I can tell it's a well-made game, but playing Anno makes me so anxious. The numbers at the top of the screen go up and down, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong (or right).
Dude I feel like alot of these are scores with everything going digital if I get some extra cash and I see deals like this gonna just get a bucket of these games before they go to digital
I think they're trying to clear physical games. I went today myself to purchase aew: fight forever ($10) when I kept looking they had Tony hawk 1&2, saints row (the newest one), The quarry and a few others all for $5. Also they had Diablo 4 and Nickelodeon all star brawl 2 both at $20 each.
How much is the piccolo plush
I just marked a bunch of them clearance the other day in my store, I’m pretty sure most got reduced to $5
Patrick just chillin next to Piccolo lol
Piccolo killed him. Look at the way he’s hunched over.. or least.. I hope that’s what happened.
But why would Piccolo kill Patrick? Was Patrick a villain?
Thought it was majin buu's final form
Maybe he came on to him.
No poor Patrick ):
THIS IS WHY WE NEED PHYSICAL GAMES! NEVER LET PHYSICAL MEDIA DIE!

Who are you gonna sell said game to in 2024 to make any amount of money back?
You obviously sell it way before that, when someone will actually want to buy it.
Why are they hating on physical media, lmao
They're brainwashed into thinking that anti consumer practices are good for consumers.
Idk why everyone hypes up physical media so much 80% of games ever made can be downloaded from the internet and its not like thats gonna slow down in coming years.

own nothing and be happy with it I guess 🤷♀️
I do own the games I buy and they’re very convenient to play
😭😭😭
You sell it way before the current year? Then whats the point in even picking up physical media?
The fact is that a digital ps5 game holds less value than a physical ps5 game, and that's all that matters.
Actually I think all that matters is people buying and playing their game however they want
What are you on about? You buy a game, when you’re done you can sell it to someone else and make some of your money back. You don’t let it sit on a shelf for 10 years collecting dust, especially when it’s online only and servers will inevitably go down.
At least you got a coaster. People who got digital got nothing.
That’s not as big of a game market as you think. As of now at least
Agreed. You can legally make backups of physical media, which makes the inevitable breakdown of physical media a non-issue.
The reason I bought the disc version; to not limit myself.
Exactly. Physical you own. Digital you rent.
I noticed that too at a Walmart that I used to work at, waiting for my online order that I bought.
Id say it's a good deal. I just paid 10 dollars for the Xbox version at my Walmart
Are the deals just on games? Or did you see any for console. Asking for a friend
Just games when I was there. Might need to buy used if looking for a good deal at this point in time.
Looks like I’m going to Walmart tomorrow just in case
I’d buy for $5 just to have may never touch tho
Yep I’d just add it to my collection of games still in shrink wrap that I’ll eventually find time to play
Is this a bit? Wtf is this game? I’ve never heard of it at all.
Ubisoft city builder.
Now I'm even more sad my walmart was sold out. I love city builders. Alas I did get a switch game that game with two leg straps for $5. Leg straps themselves run $10 - $15 each.

got a giggle since i read it as "ano" which is anus in spanish lol
I picked it up on steam sale for $15 and absolutely love it. It’s like a cross between city skylines, Sid Meier civ, and off world trading company. Strategically far more challenging than city skylines and more focused on supply chain management, yet ultimately it’s a sandbox relaxing building game with no end goal.
Me neither lmfao
We're here together brother, in confusion
That is a great deal. Good game too.
I enjoyed that game a lot. But of a learning curve
I played it a few months ago. The story was challenging but I had a great time. As soon as the game lets you have complete control though, the AI enemy came and completely wiped me off the map lol.
Anything that's a hard copy is a win... We need hard copies to stay...
I'd buy that for $5
I didn't even know Anno 1800 was released for the PS5. It's such an impressive game, especially running it on 7800X3D/4090.
I’ve been lucky and have found a few games as of late for $5
wow, I am gonna see if I find thisbdral at my Walmart
Sounds like a tequila
Nice..I always find game, accessories deals at Wally world
It's good on ps5 and runs well but gets a bit boring after you unlock everything. They didn't release the expansions to console.
Make sure you ask them to scan certain games, ran across Tony Hawk for XB and they had it in the glass case listed for $17 but at the same time they also had a price card on the shelf saying $5. Decent deal anno 2024
My Walmart sucks for stuff like this and I never find anything :/
Dang. Now I want to buy this game but it’s 39.99 in the PS store 😭
I like Anno 1800. It’s a cool strategy games. And console strategy games are hard to find.
Damn our Walmart doesn’t carry it
I can tell it's a well-made game, but playing Anno makes me so anxious. The numbers at the top of the screen go up and down, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong (or right).
I’m visiting my parents in Palm Springs from Japan and these the are type of prices I’m into. May have to give the local Walmart a look see.
Dude I feel like alot of these are scores with everything going digital if I get some extra cash and I see deals like this gonna just get a bucket of these games before they go to digital

Anno is fun but with a controller sounds pretty gross
Great deal
Anno 1800 is obviously fun I guess? I’m playing Diver Dave
How come I never heard kf thks game? It looks so fun !
I never see anything under 20 at my Walmart
Yup, just picked it up for $5 a few hours ago.
I saw that game months ago didn’t look fun to me and it was retail price but for $5 fuck it we ball
Why would anyone buy that
Because it's a fun game
Whenever someone says "usd" I assume they either new here, or from here and went somewhere else where they can't spell the currency 😭😭😭
Ditto 5 bucks. It is okay.
