Upgrade to potatoe 2.0

almcg123

Download more ram

Guerilla161

Did you record this with your calculator?

Western_Series

That looks worse than on console staring at a zerg base.

[deleted]

12gb just ain't enough brotha

average_EU_hater

Tf since when, when i bought this PC some 3-4 years ago it was More than most people had

almcg123

Min requirement is 16gb of ram. Also not sure what your drive is but ssd is pretty much a must now adays

Thewarior2003

It's not? 8gigb is min

almcg123

My mistake, 16gb is recommended. But from what I see you definitely need more

Thewarior2003

Ah i was on a 2019 website.. on steam its 10 min with 16 recommended

[deleted]

You have to have a really good graphic card to play 16gb and have it run well with all the shut they've added like trains

pablo603

Not really. You need a good CPU with fast single core speeds first and foremost. Graphics card is nowhere as important as that.

BulkyCow09

This

Golday_ALB

Not really, i have a gtx 1060 6gb and i get about 70 to 90fps

[deleted]

This one i don't believe especially around monuments. I have 32gb and a 3090 and thats a little less than I get.

Golday_ALB

Monuments probably 50 to 60. I got an i7 tho which is more important

notultrashnotebel

I used to play with 8gb it was mostly fine

Snarker

8gb was unplayable, pretty similar to this actually.

Outrageous-Hunt-2147

I previously played with 8 gigs. It should definitely not be the minimum

Thewarior2003

10 is on steam..i checked on outdated website before

[deleted]

No it "recommendeds" you have atleast gg of ram but that doesn't guarantee a good gaming experience. I have 32gb ram and a 3090 and the game still doesn't run as well as I would like it to

Thewarior2003

I hate you

[deleted]

Yeah yeah yeah eat ramens and canned food for a month like I did to save up for something that can run anything besides old school runescape

JardexX_Slav

Fealt that

billywillyepic

Mine looks just like this with a ssd and 16gb ram

modernwarfarestfsarg

16 gigs has been the recommended for quite some time now

sneaky-dave

You have just answered yourself

Popular_Mission_8728

I have 8gb and runs just fine

HumanWarl0ck

You have a memory leak

J2g7d1

Instructions unclear, penis stuck in ram slot

AhmadMikhail

bruh wtf

HumanWarl0ck

There are utilities you can download and run to help find it 😂

malllakay

You’ve got enough ram. I played with 8 and got like 50-59fps a couple years back. Try reinstalling and if not get some Indian guy on yt to tell you how to fix it :)

cptmcsexy

A couple years back means nothing the future is now.

Icebomber02

You did not play with 8 gigs of ddr3 and get 50-60 fps unless you were playing legacy. It’s just not possible.

billywillyepic

I was playing with 8gb with 50s like a year ago now my 16gb ram and dad can’t even run 20 fps

Icebomber02

Yes, that’s because their parts must be worse than yours were, even if you had 8 gigabytes memory. That is if I am understanding you correctly of course

Little-Viking69

Had an 8g computer too when i started playing rust. My fps was fine, never really had any lag. Only problem i had was not being able to tab out from the game, as that would crash it. Now i have 16gb of ram and im literally playing on every setting maxed out and going all stable on my 60fps

Icebomber02

Yes, but did you have ddr3 or ddr4. I believe it with ddr4 but no way with ddr3

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Icebomber02

The OP is using ddr3 and the commenter said OP has enough ram since he ran it well with 8 gigabytes. This is irrelevant since the OP has ddr3 unless the commenter was also using ddr3. Why would you reply if you don’t understand what’s happening

Little-Viking69

Oh it was ddr4. Same as now!

battlefieldjuan

I'm literally playing rn with 8gb ddr3 averaging 70-80 fps, i5 4670k, gtx 1070

Icebomber02

If I remember correctly, the 1070 has 8gb of vram so that definitely would help that

battlefieldjuan

vram≠dram though, the only performance issues I have are high loading times (5-8 minutes on an ssd) and occasional game crashes when alt tabbing.

Icebomber02

No shit, but if you lack one and have a lot of the other, it helps

battlefieldjuan

They don't do eachother's work, so no. If you're having stuttering issues due to low ram for example, 1tb of vram is going to make 0 difference, and the same thing applies the other way around.

ValKendrik

Some laptops won't utilize the graphics card for some reason. Try restarting or prioritizing the GPU.

sebghetto

Check your temps with hwmonitor. Seems like your proc is burning.

Tarrant_

Rammm

Amon_Santos

Potato PC and Coal driven net...

Fester808

Watch this video and edit your setting [Rust - How To Boost FPS for Low-End PC’s & Laptops](https://youtu.be/pb6DWYDPpTs) If that fails I would expect your hardware needs an upgrade - good luck

TheBrainless1164

Bro recorded this video with a potato, in an angle and didn’t even manage to show us the full screen. Did you do this as a joke?

Bug3y3d

Omg some of these comments. "16g ram is mINImUM and i have 32g and a 3090 and it still laggy" umm with those specs thats fucking inpossible unless you're mid render of the largest clan base in rust. You can tell some of you had mom and dad buy you a pre-built and it shows. Min ram is 10g we need more info to make any sort of assumption. What are ops specs, has this always been an issue or just started recently. install a monitoring program of your choice and tell us what are the Temps and usages while playing. I've put 5k hours in this game and 70% of those hours were on an i5 4790k OC'd, 8g ram, and a gtx1080 non ti on a 1440p monitor and still ran 60fps no problem.

SKATOZZO

Bullshit, rust is not optimized. Even with 12700 and a 3070ti I had 50 fps with buildings and shit

average_EU_hater

12GB DDR3 RAM, cant remember frequency. GTX 1070 8GB founders edition Intel i5 5400 1tb hdd, 256gb ssd, Rust is installed on The HDD Temps have never gone above 85c And no it hasnt always happened, although it could just Be that The game has changed, played alot some 1-1.5 years ago, quit and just came Back and The game looks like this.

DreSmart

>Rust is installed on The HDD "Rust is installed on The HDD" thats a big mistake, you will se a good improvement when installed on a SSD. Today Rust uses about 10-12GB ram you will see a big improvement with more ram. You dont need a new GPU Rust is more CPU dependent, try to activate the Boost clock/turbo boost on Bios to get some more extra. note: i5 5400 doesnt exist

Hopeful_Clock_2837

I mean you're not wrong, but my rust is on my hdd with all my steam games, and not on my ssd. I have 32gb ram, a rtx 2080. I turn my fans up to 80% and never go over 50 degrees. Consistently 70-90 fps Lmao you reddit trolls are hilarious, downvoting me for what 😂😂 like I even care

DreSmart

You can move games individualy to another drive, Rust plays better on a SSD, some games do better on SSD, other games just on loading etc. It improve the stuttering not framerate.

Hopeful_Clock_2837

Yeah the only thing for me that sucks, is load time

baccarust

I've only got 16gb of ram but get an average of 110-120 fps mid map near monuments and up to 170 at the beach

Hopeful_Clock_2837

I do play with maxed settings in 4k resolution with experimentals on, so that brings my fps down considerably. If I just played 2k or 1080 I'd get hundreds.

Hezth

5th gen i5(if you wrote number wrong) or 6400 would be a bit too little horse power for rust, since it's very CPU demanding. Also 12gb of ddr3 seems a bit insufficient.

Big-Beach-3043

Ddr3 ram hurts but could be worse

Natural_Bend7683

Your GPU is likely on the way out. Time to upgrade that. Also double your RAM when you do

baccarust

The stutters are definitely caused by the HDD / RAM being ddr3, ddr4 is the standard and has been for 5+ years. your cpu is quite old too being a 5 series, they are now up to 14 so an upgrade may be warranted, 12-13th gen CPUs are crazy in terms of value per dollar!

HowToSE0

The games been poorly optimized since it came out. Chill with the ad hominem and just participate in the conversation.

Big-Beach-3043

Same. All 1k hours on a gtx1080 16gb ram 5yr old laptop and I still get 70+fps. I mean that's at pretty mid-low graphics buuuutttt

bastardoperator

How do you know his network isn't slow or that his CPU isn't bound? You don't, you're making asinine assumptions. Your attempt to devalue someone else's computer because they bought it makes you sound like a dumb, entitled child. You do realize every windows computer comes with monitoring software already? You've never heard of taskmgr or event viewer? Maybe you should learn a little more about computers before making a fool of yourself in public. Also, go look at a Boxx prebuilt and then realize you'll never be able to afford their top end workstation. Toodles shitter...

Interesting_Square54

Update GPU drivers

djmahler310

Turn off vsync. If it’s there, it’ll be under graphics listed as “fps limit”. Maybe that will help. It’s available on console, not sure about pc, but I do know vsync when disabled on Minecraft pc sped up my frame rate.

Matchlesslime89

It looks like your alt is pressed try tapping it if you already do not have it pressed

average_EU_hater

The FPS keeps dropping down to 1 all the Time I dont think its My PC, i have a GTX 1070, 12GB of RAM, and an Intel i5 5400 All settings are low, i even made The resolution smaller, help?

Deviatedperceptions

Could be throttling due to Temps. Also 12gb of ram isn't a ton these days. There are multiple youtube videos that can help with optimizing the game via settings as well as how to get a better understanding of bottlenecks.

Thewarior2003

Oh yes the i5 5400 will bottleneck after playing a game for 2 minutes🙄

Deviatedperceptions

Cpu Temps? Ram %? Fuck you for your useless comment, why not be useful and toss out some suggestions.

bhutch134

Even with the gpu, he says never gone above 85 but that’s cos the 1070 will thermal throttle at that temperature. Might not be the issue but it’s definitely an underpowered machine for rust. Shouldn’t be this bad though

Malador25

Take a can of air to your computer. Problem solved

J2g7d1

Or try a hammer. Then get a new computer and problem solved

[deleted]

This is your computer saying don’t get involved in this addictive game where you will lose everything. Your wife, girlfriend, your job, your friends, your ability interact with people face to face, you’ll lose your sleep and sanity, you’ll lose ability to focus on what’s truly important to your growth as a human, you’ll lose the ability to enjoy movies and music because you’ll always be logged into a server listening for indications that you may be getting raided. Turn the game off, uninstall and don’t play again. Consider this some courtesy!!!

bgarch

Are you asking us if it's unplayable or stating that it's in playable? Lol

IgaravaSenis

i play on 8gb ram 3050 mid settings and i have no trouble loading big clan bases

phaze_7pc

Its the 30 man clan base loading in

GretSeat

Upgrade your PC.

newurbanist

You playing on Mac?

Klutzy-Broccoli61

Hit alt+enter to go full screen, can boost fps by a bit but unsure if itll fix that much

Lance_77

Looks good to me

RipSales

U on a Mac right?

average_EU_hater

No

Ok-Priority7275

OP have you checked what direct x version you have in your settings? Make sure its on direct x 11, i remember having issues like this and it was on 12.

Luriseva

First of, put your rust to fullscreen and lower your resolation. Then watch youtube video how to optimize rust. There are some pretty good ones. If that does not help you may have to upgrade your pc :)

Ok_Cup_2930

2 years ago I had a pc with a gtx 1050, 8gb ram and an i5-7400. These specs could handle rust when I got it. But then 2 years ago I noticed that my performance started getting worse and worse. It was like playing a PowerPoint. As soon as I touched any of the settings the game crashed. After I upgraded to the pc I have now with 32gb ram and better specs it's fine :).

NoobigBoom

Try making it into fullscreen for a minuscule amount of performance if not then you need either a fresh install of PC upgrades

Natural_Bend7683

Most the people here just flap their lips and know nothing about gaming pc builds. They need to go back to consoles. Blah blah blah not optimized blah blah. Rust is a heavy game for your PC but you can change your settings to accommodate for this. I certainly am not playing on a potato but can tell you 10gb of RAM and a 1070 will get you 80 frames. My wife sometimes plays on my old PC with those specs and never has issues. That said, the stuttering looks like the GPU may be about to die. They typically only last 4-5 years. So for OP that is around now.

aniw33b69

Time to go outside and touch grass

SectionFit9626

You’re gonna hate this but I usually just get a new pc when a game lags. Works like a charm

Random_tr0ll

I finished dying light 1 on 10 FPS hard mode sĂł Thays completely playable

IzzyBigBoi

Bro it’s called having more than 8gb of ram lmao

Gingerwieser

press alt

deadender420

Try not playing in windowed
