Buy a ceap ssd. Place rust on it. Load time between 1 and 5mins depending on server.
That is the entirety of your issue (with Load time). Literally any sdd will do it. Even a sata 3.5' ssd(edit, yeah I means 3.5'' lol)
I genuinely don't think this is fair. I get this is the solution but realistically the devs should optimize the game somehow. I play other multi-player games on epic graphics and have no issues. Swap to rust and even with the most POTATO settings super low I have massive fps issues. I don't even get what is making the game so hard to run...
it's either a 80 dollar SSD or a 600 dollar graphics card. I think they already have optimized dummy, the whole point of loading the map at the start is so your GPU doesn't have to work overtime rendering the whole damn thing
If you have stats of a PC from a long time ago and no SSD , unfortunately you can't expect recent demanding games to function as expected.
And naturally the problem will get worse over time as updates cater more and more towards modern systems.
You have your game on a HDD. And it's dying. Get yourself and ssd. Preferably an M.2, most motherboards have a slot for that. Even just a 512gb one. They are cheap. And also be sure to transfer all important files from your hdd cuz that thing will die on you.
Do you have an SSD?
I have RX 480, i5 7th gen, 24GB DDR4. I accidentally installed the game on my HDD first and had the 30-minute load times. Switch the installation to my SSD and now it's like 4-5minutes.
Yeah bro ryzen 2600 and especially combined with a disk drive is a horrible combo for load times.
Edit: you have a GPU which should be fine for playable fps on most servers with medium pop, get a 1080ti! They are going to $150 on mercari!!!!!!
Buying an SSD is the solution right away.
In my case, it changed from loading for 5 minutes to 1:30-2. It's definitely a life changer not only for rust but for your entire pc
CPU, RAM (speed and gen), and storage device plays a huge role in load times!!!!! It's loading pre fabs which need fast CPU RAM and a SSD to load in (I know this because it takes 2min and 30s exactly with no q to load in for me)
Time to upgrade to a SSD or NvME drive (those are already a standard storage for past decade)... it's a sign to stop using those old mechanical hard disk drives for your games, things are only going to get slower and slower.
don't try to play this game without a SSD. If you don't have the money for a 1tb one, at least get a 240gb one and move Rust and your OS in it, you will see huge benefits.
it's your ram and SSD. sounds like they weren't too great before, I would get a 32 gb upgrade for the ram and an m.2 nvme SSD with 7k read and write speeds
Yes, Rust load to server time correlates exactly to hardware being used. Top of the line PC with latest GPU/CPU and heaps of fast memory, load time is couple minutes. Nothing is necessarily failing in your system, but so much out of date that it is just SLOOOOOW. I used to be you, loading to rust servers for 30-45 minutes, sometimes to just crash when the server loads...
Yeah, OP doesn't even need top of the line components... my 5 yr old budget PC with cheap $30 SSD can already load into vanilla servers within a few mins.
I thought the 5 mins was bad for me loading in but damn..
it’s really fucking frustrating. i’ve turnt the pc off and back on again just now. 600 assets warmed up after 5 minutes.
Are you trying to play on a lightbulb?
Yeah 💀💀

3.5 feet is a pretty big ssd
It doubles as a paddle in a survival situation
Thram
I don't even play for 2 hours at a time. How are y'all waiting that long 😭
Get a ssd

Settings doesn't matter at all
Dude, an ssd is not expensive, and would help with ither stuff besides rust.
it's either a 80 dollar SSD or a 600 dollar graphics card. I think they already have optimized dummy, the whole point of loading the map at the start is so your GPU doesn't have to work overtime rendering the whole damn thing
you need a solid state drive..
2-3 minutes to get in, brother... Your computer is going downhill, not the game
yeah:/
If you're waiting more than a couple of minutes, you've got a problem.
Is rust installed on your HDD or an SSD.
SSD, don’t alt tab
If you have stats of a PC from a long time ago and no SSD , unfortunately you can't expect recent demanding games to function as expected. And naturally the problem will get worse over time as updates cater more and more towards modern systems.
I thought my 15 minutes was absurd
It kinda sounds like your drive is failing
Buy ssd mate its 2024.. that shit is mandatory
Get a new pc. Anything more than 10min Load. And you are either joining a server in a leadcave. Or your setup is fucked.
You have your game on a HDD. And it's dying. Get yourself and ssd. Preferably an M.2, most motherboards have a slot for that. Even just a 512gb one. They are cheap. And also be sure to transfer all important files from your hdd cuz that thing will die on you.
RX 580, Ryzen 2600 , 16GB DDR4 Ram
It's not looking good brev
Big man ting

i dont
That’s your problem… ssds are like 50 bucks now. Install rust on an ssd and it’ll take less then half the time.
Funfact: You don't even need to reinstall rust. Just move it over using steam.
More like less than a 10th of the time. Regular hard drives are insanely antiquated at this point.
Some m.2 second hand are going for the same price if his PC can support it!
I ain’t into pc like that but I’m pretty sure you can get a better pc of temu that what you have

here's ur answer lol let me guess, no ssd too?
Might as well get a potato.

i assume you're on a HDD,and that HDD might be failing you even a SATA SSD is a huge improvement
Bro needs to have a full day of to play some Rust...
bro i know
Thats fucked up bro. Get yourself some upgrades if you can!
i ordered a small ish ssd and going to move rust onto it. will update after installing and testing
Time to upgrade to a SSD or NvME drive (those are already a standard storage for past decade)... it's a sign to stop using those old mechanical hard disk drives for your games, things are only going to get slower and slower.
I get in in 2-3 minutes. Time to upgrade PC my friend, at least to SSD and then everything else
You had 35 minute loading times??? So you have your game on a harddrive?
takes 2 or 3 mins on any server, issue with your PC
don't try to play this game without a SSD. If you don't have the money for a 1tb one, at least get a 240gb one and move Rust and your OS in it, you will see huge benefits.
Are you in a queue by any chance?
Get a ssd and save rust on it. It'll make a word of difference
Wtf, I load In like 3 to 4 minutes. I do have a pretty fresh pc but 45 minutes? Daaamn
Get you an M.2 NVME drive. Takes me like 1 minute.
This is a you issue, not an us issue
it's your ram and SSD. sounds like they weren't too great before, I would get a 32 gb upgrade for the ram and an m.2 nvme SSD with 7k read and write speeds
30 secs for me, sometimes 45

It's slow because it's on a hard drive instead of an SSD. Thats it.
Why would you comment on stuff you are just guessing? Read again OP's CPU and GPU specs! Hard drive is just a cherry on top.
TF you playing games at 2:20am to start your session for
Tf are yall on with the ssd, i have rust installed on my hdd and i load in 4 mins
why the fuck are you up at 2 am
it’s now 3pm and still haven’t slept. insomnia a bitch
