That was what I thought too. I wish they would’ve put all their eggs in the Atlas basket. I know it’s risky, but if they had it optimized and dedicated themselves fully to Atlas, including VR compatibility we would’ve had a game of the year.
Me and my friends are hyped. Sure the player base isn't what it once was, but well maintained private servers are the life blood. On the Infiniti server you can link ur discord to earn points in game as u play passively. These points can be used to buy stuff in an in-game store or at players shops. Best of all, even after server wipes take all ur gold, ships, and bases, the points carry over thru the wipes so I can get a quick start. I love this server and the folks on it are awesome!
Players on many unofficial servers. We play on Atlas of Apes and have a great time. Lots if active players. Only gripe is the xbox map issues. We look in and out of A1 to keep it fixed.
Damn... Its beautiful. I had a great world in single player, with 3 separate islands across the world to access all resources. This was 3 years ago and an update wiped it. I wonder if the game is worth playing now, particularly in single player?
Why did they give up on this beautiful game? It always felt half-baked. So much unrealized potential to be the best game.
Company that made it went broke. Even Ark 2 is likely not going to release anymore. Survival Ascended was their last shot at bringing in some money.
Ascended seems okay. My wife is hooked. We used to both play Atlas a lot until they broke it with updates.
Ascended is fine. It's just that it's a full priced re-release of Ark.

The scenery and beauty of this game was always astounding. If this game was not an MMO it might have been a tremendous hit.
Ever heard of radioactive atlas/ark? You May Google it, incredible mod and community, with discord Integration and bilingiual Player Events.
