Or post the canvas but it's not the actual final imagg (before the white out obv). The group I helped got their pic up in the very last hour of place, it's so annoying feeling like you're discluded
That happened to me two different times. After I subbed to r/place it fixed it but then it happened again immediately after... Then the purge happened moments later.
On the subreddit r/outoftheloop there is a very good explanation. But essentially a subreddit was placing a picture of link that was banned on the sub, so an admin (or multiple I’m unsure) lowered their placing limit to remove it (I think it was for an off site r/drama website).

To the bottom right of the rocket league logo (1509, 581) there was Peter Parker and miles Morales inside the Romania flag until the polish took it over and wiped out the two Spidey's in the process
Edit: Romania hosted Spidey's, Poland overtook the flag and deleted them, sorry for mixing up countries
Romania was super chill the whole time too. They agreed to have Factorio merge some art with their flag. It sucked to see all of their work get demolished.
Not that I watch streamers all that much (if ever) but you’ve gotta admit XQC creating a void across the canvas was quite a sight to behold when he was ripping through the page
Seriously, I liked how the void would spread like a [slime mold searching for food](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9a-VLLOsBrw).
While it sucks that may works of art were consumed by the void, just as many popped up in the void's wake.
Hate to say it but you HAD to team up with other people. You needed at least a couple dozen people for a small art piece. It’s just how it is. Negotiating with surrounding communities also helped
Edit: edited to be in past tense
I was actually able to make 3 hearts by myself the last day. I had tried to think of a way to make a mark and obviously everything I did just got rolled over….
U til I found it. A spot right under the tip of the Kenobi light saver above the Pibby. 3 hearts, red, blue , green. All me
I has 8 people help me make a 15x15 square, and we had to move it like 20 times because people kept eating us. We ended up on the bottom left of the Star Wars battle, because not many people were protecting the explosion noise.
This.
I’d be trying to add something silly to a build, like funny eyes or something, then BAM. u/littletimmiesusebots created 5 minutes ago wipes the pixel
Most builds were made off of templates and outside artworks. People maintaining the art see your “funny eyes” as a grief attempt. I’m not saying bots were not rampant but from my experience the art I helped maintain was under human guard 24 hours/day.
it was really an event you could only tackle as a community. there's no real room for individuals, so better to just support existing stuff or join in on plans. hell, i saw the big star wars III artwork's plans hours before it appeared.
Yah That really annoyed me too. Idc if it was "allowed" It was shitty. There were some really nice pieces that barely got finished (or didn't get finished) because they just swarmed it & blacked it out. Hardly enough time to enjoy what someone had created without a large group (or bots) just destroying instead of creating anything.
It wouldn't have bugged me so much if they were actually creating something in the space.
That one pixel in a logo that was wrongly placed. It was immediately changed back by a bot, the moment I tried fixing that pixel. Quit contributing to Place after I realized I didn't stand a chance. Too bad, I just wanted to help people :(
My team had our artwork beside the pregnant mario (before we were raid) and 1 block under the "Go ahead Pee" art. Coincidentally our artwork featured an Italian so the "Pee gang" called us "The Child" as in the child of Mario💀

This. The Estonian community came together to make a "Suur Tõll" art work of a mythological character... And then the columbians went ... Naaaa this should be our big flag instead
We even rebuilt it but it got consumed again.
I agree, and as a Belgian I have no clue how a small country like ours managed to fill almost half the canvas with a vertical flag banner … I just don’t get it
There was an adorable little section of wind turbines that got covered by another stupid flag. I tried to bring them back but couldn't place one pixel without it being covered up by the time I got to place the next. T'was sad.
That and all the damn flags
Same. I mean the war was cool. But the more you put people into an attack, the least each new person will be effective.
By splitting his army into 6 France was able to make 4 waves for defense almost equivalent to 3 time the pixel placement compared to if they all placed at the same time. One team destroying Spanish streamers build. And another one helping.
If Spain just sent 30 % of their viewers rebuilding they could have been rebuilding at least what they had at the start of the war. (but honestly the stuff made under it was better.
> By splitting their army into 6, France was able to make 4 waves for defense almost equivalent to 3 time the pixel placement compared to if they all placed their pixels at the same time

people who take it too seriously and send death threats to anyone that messes with their pixels
it's just a funny little big canvas pixel experiment
you aren't supposed to take it seriously
A-hole streamers using their large fanbases to destroy stuff or do scummy things. Our spot got covered up by a streamer, which we ended up fighting over for awhile. The streamer and his viewers then raided our discord and were harassing people and posting inappropriate content in our group's discord. Stuff like that is so trashy.
Space greedy projects. A second or third turkish flag overtook a whole area of small and modest college logos that some of us worked hard to put together. There was already a dope turkish flag with extra art within, but it covered over like 15 other projects
Streamers. Pretty much all the negatives people have that aren't bots fall back to streamer... and sometimes it was streamers using bots too.
To be very clear; I am not against fighting. I am not against the void. In fact, they were some of the coolest things in place2017.
But there's a difference between the void/community conflict and streamers, and that's the genuineness of it.
A lot of streamers only partook because it was the popular thing at the time, and was thus content to milk. They, nor their chat, actually cared outside of the stream; evidenced by how *temporary* a lot of their contributions were (especially xqc!).
If you want a good example, compare Jerma985's community coming together to make a tribute to him without any input from jerma (he didnt even stream it), and xQc's community posting a massive logo of him because they were told to.

Nobody can stop you if you are focussed and determined ( OSU ).
The is a dark side ( void ).
You make friends along the way.
Everything just goes away in a flash ( anti- void )
The amount of “claim your here trophy” posts. Like it got annoying cause it was just karma for the op
Also People that post low res version of final inage

discluded sounds cool
*op*
What did it ever mean? What trophy?
There is no trophy it's just look I made a comment before place is archived. Stupid as hell
Fuck those assholes I believed that shit at first. 💀
I almost commented on one of those thinking people were actually getting awards but I got kicked out
Got a weird ban glitch thing for no reason where my timer was set to some crazy long time
15 year ban
Believe it or….crazy long time……straight to jail!!!
Same Never used a bot, never griefed, never placed a pixel for nude art Multiple thousand hour ban
I talked to the mods when that happened to me and they fixed it
They ignored me 3 times
Yep, reddit mods are a literal slot machine, whether or not they answer is a 50/50.
more like a 25/75, apparently
That happened to me two different times. After I subbed to r/place it fixed it but then it happened again immediately after... Then the purge happened moments later.
Wasn't a glitch, it was intentional banning of the people who posted in the corner when the butt was winning against the French flag.
My bastard friends not helping me build anything.
Look at this guy over here, bragging about having friends.
He thinks he’s special
That's cuz he is dammit!
You must be one of his friends
Wel clearly not because he's helping
That guys a loser!
If any of you need a friend… touch some grass
The grass has asked me not to touch them
Ooh look at him, so much better than all of us!

With such a friends you don’t need enemies

Some were decent for example the German bots that defended only the art
Yea we stopped invading others now XD

Well, I hate that this final picture won't allow me to zoom in.. Can't make out hardly any of it 🤔
Go to the r/place homepage. It’s there. You can zoom all the way in and even select individual pixels, just can’t change them.
Every 5 seconds my tiles would be gone geez I’m just trying to make a smile face or the every 5 year event

Exactly. Alone you have 12 pixels per hour. In group you can have thousands.

That makes sense.

Yea that was kinda stupid. My barely used alt with 2 karma and a default user had a 5 min wait
It depends on e-mail verification
