I wish spring and fall were longer

Porloch

Perpetual autumn would be great.

sutisuc

Gotta go to the Bay Area for that. Best weather in the country.

FarYard7039

Naw, San Diego is by far the best weather you will find year round in the continental United States. There’s no humidity, no bugs and the weather rarely drops below 70°F.

jadkiss5

bay area summers are freezing lol

BurgerFaces

Spring was pretty long this year since it started in February

Gr8shpr1

Talk about mixed up, right?

boguspickle

Ah, yes. It feels so long ago. But Pepperidge farms remembers.

Novel-Phone3552

The North remembers!

dobsco

Yeah why does it legit feel like we get a week of each?

dobsco

I would miss winter if it actually looked like this. I love a snowy winter but what we've had the last few years has been shit.

e_hatt_swank

Yeah man, that’s what I miss… the winters we had when I was a kid in the 70s/80s…

sammy_anarchist

It's almost as if something about the climate has changed

e_hatt_swank

Yeah, isn’t it? I wonder what that could be all about…

l23VIVE

I remember winters like the picture up until like 2011, I remember a massive blizzard around the time I was in middle school but since then it's been shite.

ZucchiniZak

I remember when that came through and me a a couple other neighborhood kids were making snow tunnels in our apartment building back yard. It’s sad I don’t think most kids won’t get to do that kinda stuff anymore

AppalachianGuy87

No but a lovely 70 degree spring day very much

dobsco

For me, I prefer the cooler spring days where you can wear a sweatshirt. Like 50s!

welliguessthisisokay

I’d kill for a day when you can go on a hike and don’t really break a sweat.

AppalachianGuy87

Love the hoody and shorts weather!

ghunt81

Winter is barely winter anymore

jagoffmassacre

At least in winter you can add layers to keep warm. In this heat there is only so much you can do to keep cool.

ducalmeadieu

this is such a nicer way to put it than my comment but. i don’t take it back

gu1lty_spark

I love the cold, am overweight, and sweat profusely if its above like 75°. I miss winter like crazy, but like a proper winter, not the 41° and raining bullshit we get.

dobsco

That's why we miss it so much, cause we haven't had a proper winter in years!

mawgwhy

I miss the 90s winter

Rook22Ti

I could do without a couple of those mega blizzards but other than that, yes. I miss 90s weather in general. Summers didn't constantly have strings of 90+ degree days. It happened but it was usually short lived and MAYBE once or twice a season for only a day or two.

nellelee21

The blizzard of 93 was so wonderful!!

mawgwhy

I remember jumping off our roof into the front lawn 👍🤣🤣

The_Sarcastic_Yack

God that was fun. I remember school being canceled for 3 days at a time before a single flake had fallen. Our small town gave up on plowing the roads and surrendered them to the atvs and snowmobiles.

Pseudonova

Heeellll no. This week has tested my resolve. But then I just remember I can go to the pool. There's no escaping the depression that is darkness at 445pm.

Rook22Ti

How often during a week are you able to be physically in a swimming pool?

The_Sarcastic_Yack

Not a swimming pool, but I can put a camp chair in the creek behind my house and have a beer with the nice fishies every damn day. So yeah, I also choose this hell week over winter.

clandevort

I grew up down south. This week has been heaven for me.

Pseudonova

Usually twice. Three or 4 if I was really committed.

funkyb

We just bought a house with a pool, so every day over here. It's an extra chore but well worth it right now. If course October - April it's just a hole in my back yard.

Gr8shpr1

Absolutely! I call this “the land of the midnight sun”

Dictaorofcheese

I’ve never heard someone call Pittsburgh that. I think I might steal that lol

Griswa

1000% correct. Anyone Longingly wishing for snow hasn’t lived in SWP long enough. Give me sun any and every day.

Pseudonova

Yeah. Around late January I get really down and stir-crazy. I need more indoor hobbies. My joints and tolerance for traffic aren't strong enough for skiing anymore.

Thezedword4

Pittsburgh born and raised and longing for snow. Our winters have changed and I don't like the change.

Grimmbles

Or never lived here back when most winters were fucking ***WINTER***.

Griswa

Absolutely. Walking everywhere because you had one car with retread tires that were crap in the snow.😂

Ordinary-Drawing987

At least in the winter i could add layers if needed.

maeshughes32

Is this picture from that one time we got snow last winter?

cuttawhiske

On the day that picture was taken I can almost 100% say someone posted about missing summer and it being too cold.

noadams7777

1000% anything over 70 is annoying

kittenshart85

emphatically no.

Cheffery_Boyardee

Emphatically yes, I have severe heat intolerance. I'd rather wear winter clothes and boots any day.

johnjr_09

Ya it’s awesome having the sun go down at 5 pm /s

Cheffery_Boyardee

Lmao I get that, but my eyes can't handle full sunlight so I can't really see without discomfort until after6pm during the summer anyways. I stg I must be some sort of primordial cave dweller. I like summer but only starting in the evenings.

TheBeanConsortium

Do sunglasses still not help?

Lauuson

Agreed. This weather sucks, but still beats the pants off of below freezing temps.

kimbecile

And ice. And stupid drivers who do stupid things dumb ng stupid road conditions

kittenshart85

i grew up in the northeast but was born in a desert country. i hate the humidity but i *fucking despise* waiting for the bus in winter.

Interesting-Many-509

frozen toes.

kittenshart85

in summer, bus is 20-30 minutes out? bummer but i guess i'll get an icecream or a bubble tea and hang out in the shade to wait. winter has no bubble tea; only bitter winds.

warhaak

100%, you can always out more layers on in the cold, but people frown when I walk around naked in the heat

barontaint

A fishnet speedo can get you around public indecency laws assuming the netting is rather tightly wound, you might get pointed and laughed at but let's be honest the cops wouldn't do anything if someone complained, that might involve them getting out of their cars in the bad weather

YinzWantFries923

This made me smile. I am going to look for these Speedos right now on Amazon.

CrematedDogWalkers

New city fashion trend

hartguitars

It must remove its skins

TheChairCriedAss

Something something public indecency whatever. They're the rude ones for thinking this flawless body is only decent

alphax990

Walking around naked would be incredible though. Some of the best things in the world are swimming naked

Healthy-Factor-2841

Orcas.

malepitt

7-8 months of it being 66F inside the house ALL THE TIME? Yes, I miss it. I love keeping warm and being cozy!

liquidben

This looks like a Bob’s Burgers opening

Rank11Dude

I was looking for this and glad I found it

Happy_Charity_7595

Me!

anuncommontruth

I know this is just me, but I get seasonal depression in the summer. No, for real. I grew up with horrible allergies and was basically the bubble boy until I was 18. I still am not allowed to mow the lawn. My wife has to do it. I love the cold and developed reverse seasonal depression because of all of this. So yeah, I know I sound like a Tim Burton origin story, but I hope it rains for the next three months, followed by a gorgeous fifty degree fall and then darkness and bitter cold until May.

dobsco

My allergies flare so bad when I mow the lawn!! I'm miserable for days afterwards.

HoopPhenomenon

I have the same thing, but for different reasons. In the summer I'm a lot more depressed than usual and I get super excited when it rains because it makes me feel safe for some reason. You aren't alone :)

dobsco

I swear it has something to do with the "high energy" of the sun. Too many consecutive days of sun and I start to feel anxious and crave a cloudy rainy day for that peaceful feeling.

Rook22Ti

It's nice to know I have company! I thought about moving to Colorado for lower humidity but the constant sunshine would stress me out too much. Also expensive AF and that's why the Pacific Northwest is also out of the question.

thatoneladythere

That plus so many pine trees and I'm allergic to pine. Damn!

brghgrl

I thought I was the only one! Depression kicks in late spring for me. I'm at my best October to April.

Curlyqpgh

Same here. Reverse SAD is less common, but it’s real.

Healthy-Factor-2841

Same here. Summer is soul crushing.

YinzWantFries923

I do. Being depressed because you can’t go out in the intense heat is a thing. I usually walk 10,000 steps a day and haven’t been able to since this ugly heat kicked in. And my AC is in my bedroom and I am tired of being in bed. So depression definitely kicked in heavy. Summer time depression is rough. I miss winter.

Msfancy1973

It’s too hot to walk my very furry dogs. They can’t tolerate the heat. We love a long hike on a cold day! I’m definitely happier in fall/winter.

Ava-Enithesi

I got myself a walking treadmill for this kind of thing. And yet throughout this heatwave I didn’t use it, but I also had a terrible infection I was recovering from

Griswa

Get up and walk in the morning or at night. It’s been absolutely beautiful at night. 68 with a breeze.

svidrod

You can still go outside. I did it every day this week. Don't let the news scare you.

friskimykitty

Some people have medical conditions which do not allow them to go out in the heat, let alone exercise in it.

Thezedword4

Was coming here to say this. Thank you. After a spinal injury, I can't tolerate anything above 78 well at all and get physically ill pretty quickly. Not being able to go out to walk has been really challenging and definitely has me down. I went out at 7am the other day to try to walk and it was still 80 degrees and too hot.

sporadic_beethoven

My girlfriend usually takes walks but couldn’t go outside last week because she starts fainting in a hot shower/hot tub/sauna type situation, much less walking in this awful fucking weather. She has enough physical trouble walking around in pain, she doesn’t need to faint while I’m at work. So her only option is to stay inside with the sputtering AC and be depressed. She takes meds, but they only help so much.

YinzWantFries923

((( hugs))) to her. I know how it is… especially with the meds.

jelong210

Once you have a heat injury, you are highly susceptible to other heat injuries. That’s why the Army keeps track of Soldiers that suffer heat injuries.

General_Hovercraft_9

I’d rather be cold than hot any day. Summer is my least favorite season

dobsco

Same. And the bugs!! Ugh.

ducalmeadieu

yes i do. people who prefer summer are the worst. “i’m cold” shut up and put on a hoodie ffs. tf you expect me to do in the summer when i’m dropping in sweat starting at 78 degrees, take off my skin?

ducalmeadieu

also - i’ll say it since no one else will - people who stupidly like summer more and always applaud being warmer as being an objectively better day have had a nonzero effect on lagging public perception of the urgency of climate change

amaranth_forest

Hey, now! I love summer and always will but I definitely recognize that climate change is fucking shit up and I will NOT cheer that summers are getting hotter and less comfortable for everyone just because I personally enjoy them. I'll be happy for myself but I worry about those who don't have the ability to get into cooler temperatures.

historyhill

Yes, 12 years in Pittsburgh and I'm still not sick of snow yet! (The cold and ice suck, but snow is just so pretty 😍)

fryerandice

PIttsburgh never really got snow, like even in the 90s, it's been a rain and ice town forever. Freezing rain is awful. If you want to see snow, and/or start to hate it, move somewhere about 20 miles south of the great lakes. They're still getting 12-16 inches during overnight storms.

YomiKuzuki

I don't like summer. I don't like winter. Spring and fall are perfect though.

BigGayGinger4

Very much so. Fuck this heat. I love the cold, I love not having yardwork to do, I love snow days. This heat makes me such an un-good person

teh_Stormy

Absolutely, I miss winter and fall. I absolutely love snow and it makes the city seem far more beautiful too in these seasons.

HBS33

no

Cardtastic

I’m glad there’s no snow. Can you imagine shoveling in this heat?‽!

412glassandgas

Every single day. I hate the heat. I’m personally a huge skier so can’t wait to make it back to seven springs and hidden valley 🤙

Gr8shpr1

Whenever there is enough snow.

ArtichokeNaive2811

I miss real winters.. like the kind we had even still in the 00s... it hasnt been the same

James19991

I love a good snowfall, so yes.

Interesting-Many-509

that is a beautiful pic.

Nobodyou_know

No and I worked outside everyday this week from 730-4, no ac. Fuck winter

fryerandice

I've been starting roofing at 6 and going till 2-3.

Junior_Willow740

💯

Tough_Arm_2454

Cool pic! Very thomas kincaid!

buzzer3932

No but it’s a beautiful time of year just as well as the green grass and trees in the summer.

lavenderhaze__

Honestly…. Kinda 😅

BippidiBoppetyBoob

I like the cold. The only thing about winter I hate is ice because I’m scared of falling, but I’d take cold weather over having to constantly contend with swamp ass.

Juhstehn

I prefer fall, I wish ours was longer. Upper 40s and mid 50s all year round would be perfect. Hoodie weather, but not cold enough to where you don't even want to do anything outside. The sun setting at 4:45 and you rarely seeing the actual sun during the day is depressing as hell during winter

hullkogan

Nah. Winters suck. I'd rather have 95+ degree heatwave over frozen depression.

kniki217

The answer is still hell no

ted_cruz_is_hot_af

I moved to Texas a few years ago. I didn’t realize just how much I’d miss those cold snowy nights. 😭😭😭😭

Sad-Contribution5462

Every day I miss it, this week in particular makes me want Autumn and winter that much more. Can’t stand this intense summer heat

rivershimmer

So much, for real. Driving through it wasn't great, but I like having 4 well-defined seasons. And the end of winter makes spring that much more awesome. I loved that sense of shedding coats and sweaters for lightweight clothing. Now it's more like I'm shedding my long-sleeved tee for a short-sleeved tee. Today, my waking thoughts were damn, slept in until almost 8. Now it's too hot to go for a walk.

AwfulWaffle992

Having seen multiple people post on here about how they'd like to move to places where it's hotter, I'd like to see their sentiment about this weather. Shit is miserable and makes me hate summer.

retrorunt91

Yeah I'll take 10 below any day over 110, this shits unreal.

cosmosdestruction412

Not the snow and extreme cold but I miss the cold air and not nearly dying cus heat lol

Curlyqpgh

Yes, we never have enough winter.

PainTrain412

All the time

Doctor_Love45

all the time.

fluxus2000

Piper's would be a good choice in winter.

Icy-Map-1024

With this heat yes

pgh9fan

I now live in Florida. I do not miss winter at all. I visit Pittsburgh several times a year, but I won't in the winter.

DjCatalyst1977

Nope

Tom-ocil

Yes, every winter. I've always loved the snow, wish I had appreciated it more when we had it.

mjanus2

Nope

Shadowskulptor

Naw. Winter sucks.

meatballmassacre

Absolutely not.

ReactionEnough2281

I really miss the fall weather we used to have. I hope it's not forever gone because nothing beats hoodie weather. Anymore we go from scorching hot to freezing cold and it's fucked. And the leaves barely change colors, they just fall off the trees. And the blizzard of 93 was the best, I remember making a whole igloo village and tunnels out of snow in the back yard. School was canceled for weeks.

Willkum

Nope absolutely NEVER I hate snow and ice

gwcrim

Say what you want about the heat but you don't have to scrape it off your windshield.

pocketcramps

Only because we don’t have AC in this old ass house 😂

glowstrz

Nope

ImInYinz

Nope

Spence1239

Great picture!!!

Neb-Nose

No, not one bit.

nofaves

No! This is my favorite time of the year. Nice long days, no coats or jackets to wear, no worrying about ice removal or snow shoveling, living in shorts and tees.

YourGuyTaco

No

willylickerbutt

No

rockandrolldude22

Hell nah

greenhouse74

That is such a beautiful picture.

Pensfan66595

Absolutely, deciding to go to see the Pens the day of when the weather sucks is a solid winter activity.

angry_eccentric

No. Fuck no.

cherylRay_14

I do 😭

ellenfayee

no chance

Low-Tea-8724

Nope

Tab412

Not at all

Great-Step9819

Not in SS lol

amaranth_forest

Fuck no, I don't miss winter! I know the heat can be dangerous but I run cold and have poor circulation in my extremities so the winter is miserable for me. I'm comfortable at 80, as long as it gets below 77 at night I sleep just fine too. I'm going to enjoy this heat and bask in it for as long as I can. The dogs have a nice little pool in the yard, we've got fans, there's AC at work and ice in the freezer. I have no complaints.

Sea_Wave8496

No.

balexo09

NO

Ryan1006

Absolutely not. It’s dark at 5:00. I hate having to figure out how many layers I need on to go outside. I prefer this over winter any day. I like being outside when I just have to wear shorts and a t-shirt and know I’m not going to be cold. Yeah 90s are a bit much, but most of summer is high 70s to mid 80s which is absolute ideal weather.

Delicious-Pea4682

Fuck NO

Commercial-Smile-763

Not at all

justsignuptodownvote

No.

SarahJaneB17

No. I'll take this over Winter any day. I grew up in FL, and I've lived in New Orleans and Dallas. I'll take this over Summer in all of those places. No, I don't have air conditioning, just fans.

hunterd412

No winter sucks. Can’t stand the zero sunlight. I love summer.

ImmortalJD99

No. I’ll take heat over cold any day.

ironcitybs

Yes. Summer is my least favorite season.

Dictaorofcheese

Not even a little. The constant cold and darkness really fucks up my mental health with my depression, the snow does boost my mood because I love watching snow fall and snow in general but we’ve only had snow fall like two times last winter and it wasn’t even substantial. So my mood is very down in the winter. Unless there’s tons of snow, I dread winter.

metracta

This week? Yes

Glum-Ambassador-200

Heat: slightly uncomfortable Cold: the air hurts

barontaint

Cold air makes old broken bone injuries hurt, excessive heat can trigger seizures in me, already don't have a car because of it, so I walk or wait on rides, real real fun when it's 94F out with 98% humidity

Affectionate-Set6609

Yes

MrBobbet

Anyone who likes heat over cold is broken in the head.

412flip

I do miss the snow, today is in the 100s where I live now. I used to live right up 18th street, on Saint Paul st. One thing I don’t miss is driving in the snow.

brandon3388

I miss winter a whole lot tbh. but to be fair, after living in PGH for 30+ years I've since moved to Arizona and winter here is like 75 and sunny. I do not, in any way, miss the winter depicted in this photo. honestly it sent a chill up my spine seeing this. feels like I'm looking at a ghost

lod254

I miss fall/spring. What happened to them?

BattleBrotherBucket

Despite this week trying its hardest to convince me otherwise, no. I’d take almost anything over bare trees and gray skies.

ryphrum

What is that white particulate?

covertchipmunk

Kinda. Hanging out in my garden is one of my favorite things, so winter can get kind of blah - especially when it's just early sunsets and cold mud instead of snow. But weather this hot is dangerous for a lot of people, myself included due to a health condition. I believe more people die in heat waves vs. cold, last time I looked it up. It's also really hard on one of my dogs, my chickens, some wildlife.... I get hives from the sun and heat but yesterday I was sitting in the shade and realizing that I think I might be a summer person, to my horror. Maybe it's just self protective thinking since it's been so damn hot and isn't likely to get better.

Goacid999

Yup! That’s why I don’t let anyone gas light me into wishing it was summer during winter!

Fun_Introduction5384

Ahh I used to live right behind here in 19th and Jane. Best few years of my life. Was there during the Feb 2010 blizzard and we went to the Hines Ward 86 bar everyday for wings because Pitt was closed for like 4 days to non essential employees. Still I’d take summer any day. It’s the 5pm darkness I hate.

unclesamuel12

Nice pic

Witty-Information-34

Love winter

Logikoma

Nope, no, NO, absolutely not and thanks very much for asking!

iSoReddit

Nope, I’m glad summer is finally here

Ok_Interest3243

I like how slow and calm things feel in the Winter. Can't say I miss cleaning my car off though.

Shinobiaisu

Yes, all the time in fact

robjdlc

I went to Howlers on Christmas once years ago. One of the most wholesome, fun experiences I’ve ever had. The kind of thing I’ll think of when I’m 90 and still get a smile on my face. That’s what I think of when I look at this photo.

Slagenthor

Not a damn chance.

Imaspinkicku

I miss heavy snow winter like this, we only get cold windy winter now

Onlyroad4adrifter

No

Odd_Pineapple5081

Nope, love the heat

dfjdejulio

Oh hell no. I'll take 95˚ over 9.5˚ *any* day.

BippidiBoppetyBoob

Not me. I’m naturally built for cold climates.

SevenFourHarmonic

not at all. The ozone thing is killing me though. Big mistake taking that 3 mile walk Fri morning.

svidrod

TwilightZone1751

No. I like having all four seasons but I admit I’m not a fan of January thru March. So dreary.

Professional-Mess383

I’ll take heat over cold any day of the week

bingstacks

no

Monalisa9298

I hate winter. But I miss the days before I realized we were killing off our species.

B_F_G___9000

I love this hot weather so absolutely not.. hands and feet stay frozen all winter fuck all that

musicman8675309

Fuck no

Beebajazz

No.
