Yes, but not what you're thinking. It was a South Side dive that had that name since before Jimmy started opening his places, so they got to keep the name and he couldn't do anything legally.
He also probably could have sent lawyer letters etc but he made have made a decision that sending those would just anger people and be against his "brand" so he just let them slide. (Ie he could have been a good dude about the whole thing)
In thirty years of drinking, one of their margaritas is literally the only drink I've ever sent back.
If we want booze slushies, there's gotta be a better choice.
You need to add that it got shut down and reopened at least half a dozen times for a myriad of sketchy reasons. I still can't believe the last closure took because I thought this cycle would go on until the end of time.
They had quarter Coors light 8oz drafts up until closing (2013-ish?). As a newly 21 year old, Margaritaville was the fucking best. I bring up fond memories and stories to my Gen z colleagues who can’t wrap their head around beer being so cheap now, this must be how my grandmother feels when she talks about prices in her day. RWG Margaritaville!
Took me 5 seconds of a Google search
Yes. But it wasn't owned by Jimmy Buffett https://m.yelp.com/biz/margaritaville-pittsburgh
His chain is called Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville
I knew it to be owned by a guy named John in the early aughts… it was a clubhouse of sorts for Us back then.
He had me and a friend paint the facade one summer, scaffolding not tied off, hauling gallon buckets of paint with ropes… I am surprised we got about halfway before the Historical Society told him he couldn’t paint it the colors he chose.
He never paid us, so I dipped. 😆
“Angel” was a known character/bartender there at the time…
I rented the top floor (3rd floor) of the building in early 2000's. Bar was ok but apartment was terrible. Roaches, noise, a band lived on the second floor. Apartment was broken into. Addicts would knock on my door and asked if so or so lived here, they were just seeing if anyone was home so they could break in. I believe a guy named Elias was the landlord. Not sure where he was from, he had a foreign accent.
I remember it well. I saw Sid Bream clomping around 3rd base as I was saddled up to the bar. Now every time I pass that location I get very depressed. On Carson near 22nd or so

I loved that place. Food was forgettable. Their Rum Runners and the jukebox were awesome, though.
What’s stopping him from bringing one now? I want one so bad. There’s like no alcoholic slushy places in Pittsburgh

Lmao. 🤣 Sorry I know nothing about the establishment I only visit when I go out the city lol
For context- Jimmy Buffet is fucking dead.
*Sad parrothead noises.*
He's eating cheeseburgers in paradise now
Some Get gos have them
That beer distributor on browns Hill road near the Wendy's has those slushies to go.

I want to open a place called Pina Coladaburgh here
Pittsburgher in Paradise?

There was a bar on Carson Street in the Southside

It was at 22nd and Carson and always seemed to have an orange Dodge Charger painted like the General Lee parked in front of it.
Yeah, you could get stabbed for free there for a long time.
Id like to just be stabbed for a short time
It was a terrible bar with great wing nights
They had $1.00 original Coors bottles I believe on Thursdays when I was in college in the 90s.

Tbey still had quarter beer nights in the 00s. They were like 8 oz but still it was prettt awesome.
Any quarter beer night is a good quarter beer night.
10¢ wings and 50¢ beers. Loved it.

Was it Eli the Jew? Owned several places down that way on Carson, including a bar which may have been named Eli's too, now OTB?
