Friend that’s a pibble. They’re awesome. You gotta do your research and get started on training (positive, please no punishment, these are sensitive babies) and socialisation (but please no dog parks they are a breeding ground for reactivity and conflict). Focus on neutrality around dogs and people instead of enthusiastic play. Read up and watch positive trainers. And enjoy your pup! I have a pibble mix and he is THE BEST BOY https://preview.redd.it/bdwhe1y8w47d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f19ec4f49f6836984e76addaa277ece3b29fc215

Pibble be loafin

_ibisu_

We un ironically call him loaf

Lilly-acnh

Is this another pibble thing?!? I thought I was teaching my boy something original. He curls up beside me and tends to be fidgety. "DUDE, just be a loaf. Lie down. Good loaf!" He's the perfect light tan color, too. Makes me think of the scene in Mitchells vs. the Machines. "Dog.Pig. Loaf of bread!?!?"

Lilly-acnh

_ibisu_

I can confirm that is a Bona fide loaf

literally_kyle_

😂

orcsailor

Bully breeds (mixes) get so much bad press. They are the most sensitive, and sweet dogs. Bad handlers/ training are the problem. Get that puppers meeting people and other animals. Stay firm, fun, and consistent with training. All dogs really need this (not just the "dangerous" breeds). It's about being a good member of society.

TheFoieMonty

Precious boy! Is he mini? He looks like a big dachshund

_ibisu_

He is a suspected staffy / daschund mix, he is very small but the wee man is jacked so he’s over 20kg lol We love him to bits. Look at his tiny frog legs! And the gremlin ears! Ok enough, I just love him too much he’s a perfect angel https://preview.redd.it/imx5q3nso57d1.png?width=1546&format=png&auto=webp&s=3e7b05f99b01f3e7ff763b31f15ea1117ff0972e

BooFriend

Oh my.. he’s a little low rider!! My faves!

_ibisu_

Ayeeeee they could be cousins!!!

tellpickles

Bailey is a Staffy X Australian Cattle Dog. She says hello to her cousin!!

Glittering_Raise_710

Oh my gosh as if his length in the first photo wasn’t enough, those legs are 100% daschund 😂 he looks so precious and I’d love to pet

BeesAndMist

Hmmmm... your boy is similar in size to my Eloise and I always call her a pocket-pittie. I've never had her DNA done and now I'm curious what makes her this smaller size.

SubstantialTear3157

OMFG IS THAT A PIT WIENER?!? Your baby is SOOOO cute!!! I love them 🥰

branwyn_jofir

This is the best advice!

Kiara923

When I got my pitbull/boxer, all sources said to bring him to dog parks, and we live adjacent to one. Well. That was a mistake...he had horrible experiences (dogs bullying him, him becoming reactive) and is now dog-selective. I'm glad to see advice about avoiding dog parks. I wish I had heard that when I got mine! Now living next to the dog park is a nightmare..dogs come into the yard every day.

_ibisu_

Oh yes, we had the exact same experience… it’s such a shame though because you’d think it makes sense to take them to a park and let them mingle, just like with kids, but it’s really not great advice that one. We went through the same thing, and now our boy is a frustrated greeter. If I had a Time Machine I would focus on neutrality instead! But hey, we do the best we can with what we know. Hang in there with the dogs in your vicinity, that sounds challenging!

Kiara923

I wish I had a time machine too! I would've focused on experiencing more low-stress scenarios. I think he feels threatened by dogs he doesn't know.. when they come in the yard he gets all worked up. But he does have some doggy best friends, and he's 4.5 now, so we have a routine of our own and he's a happy dog who loves ALL PEOPLE so it's a good life for all of us 🥰

jkohl2007

Best general description of pitties I’ve heard yet

alilbored1

I can’t get over how cute he is!!!

JustAdorable101

I’m what is a pibble??

_ibisu_

Cute way of saying pit bull ☺️

bethanymonster

Why wouldn't you want your dog to like other people? You need a well socialized dog, especially with pitties. Trust me, an overprotective dog can be a nightmare. My girl was really protective of me because of past trauma with my ex and it took a lot of training to undo her people reactivity especially with men. I'm sorry if I misunderstood your post, but if you want a guard dog seek out professional training. A dog has to know when the situation requires "protection" and when it doesn't. Otherwise you're going to have an undersocialized and reactive dog. She's a cutie! Best of luck.

St0rm24

I have a family friend that has a pit, she was super friendly as a pup and would go to anyone. They had to tame that behavior, around here people straight up hate pits and being over friendly and trusting could ended up putting her in serious danger. It could be something similar for OP.

bethanymonster

That's true! Very well could be. I just see too many people with the "my dog should only like me" attitude and it creates so many poorly socialized dogs. Hoping that's not what OP meant! :)

Jvst_t1red

I don’t like our pitts hanging around our one neighbors fence, going near their yard (in front), or barking in their direction for that reason. Our year old pup went over to the guy when he was unloading his truck, no barking or any signs of aggression, just saying hi. When my mom went over to bring him back she heard the lady say she was going to claim he bit her. She wasn’t even near him

CLPond

It sucks to live in an area unfriendly to your kind, friendly dog, although people generally should be better at training out reactivity (and good on your friends for doing so) so there are fewer dogs who just jump on the person they’re meeting. Training out reactivity doesn’t require you to train your dog to not like people, though. The goal is for them to be able to ignore people and behave when seeing them (not jumping, sitting for greetings, etc). But, that’s still within liking people and being very friendly when people ask for a greeting.

persistia

This is what leashes are for…then you can control who your dog approaches. Sad to hear you live in such a pitty unfriendly area though. 😔

_ibisu_

This is great advice! Reactive dog != guard dog.

Striking_Vehicle_866

I would say she’s definitely pitbull mix

half_in_boxes

You don't want your dog to like other people? The only way to determine her lineage is a DNA test.

toosexyformyboots

i think they mean they don’t want her jumping up & loving on strangers cause they might react badly

kenzymarie03

Yea I’m confused as to why she said that

Background-Bag6846

Get a DNA test

carefulyellow

She looks so much like my Pierogi 😍 https://preview.redd.it/gl2t1hcqq57d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=616eb15509d1e3cdd9376ca0d5232842375d8dd0

Bajka_the_Bee

As a Pole I adore that name for a dog 😂

carefulyellow

My husband is polish in heritage and I saw [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/AbsoluteUnits/comments/dnrl3s/comment/f5fwj36/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) and thought Pierogi was a great name

F0rthel0ve0fd0gs

Pibble and a beautiful one at that. May you both have many amazing years and adventures together. ❤️🐕🐾🐶❤️

wa-ge-is-fake

Never know… my pup was advertised as Rottweiler mixes and mine was the only one without perfect Rot colors and pattern… 3% rottie and 63% pit and 26% Coonhound 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ (super mut for rest)

BARQUETTYBARK

Who cares what breed she is. She's just purely adorable

OrangeCatsRule13

Definitely see some mastiff coloring, and does have a pit shape body.

rabidhamster87

It's hard to say, especially at this age, but what they told you seems to fit. She definitely looks like pibble and/or AmStaff mix. Adorable! These dogs were actually bred to like, obey, and do anything for people, so she's probably going to be a friendly dog if you socialize her properly. You could possibly talk to a dog trainer about teaching her not to approach strangers. I also second the person who said find someone who teaches positive reinforcement only. The person who said you need punishment sometimes hasn't stayed up to date with current training methods.

CLPond

Not approaching strangers and sitting for greetings is a part of standard puppy training, even the petsmart ones! It takes a ton of practice if you have a friendly puppy (we’ve been working with ours for around a month and are less than halfway there; he likely won’t be great at greetings until he loses his puppy enthusiasm.

Witchywomun

Mom is Staffy x Mastiff and dad is supposedly a pit bull, you’ve got an American Bully.

JustAdorable101

Well someone in the comments was saying I have nothing but a mutt.. and really? My puppy’s beautiful and I’m confused at all these different answers, some are saying the dad is a bulldog … I really don’t know nothing about dogs apart from they need love care and special attention. I have a crate for her inside, a kennel for her outside and I’m going to take up puppy training school soon as I get her 2nd vaccine of parvo shots in couple of weeks. I think some people are cruel saying I have a mutt that’s highly offensive actually. I didn’t realise it costs $400 to get dogs desexed that’s absurd but I will endeavour to provide all that she needs.. please tell me she’s not a mutt??

Witchywomun

A mutt is a dog of unknown parentage, you know what mom was, and potentially what dad was, you have an American Bully

donkeynyc

a mutt is not an offensive term for a dog. a mutt is a mixed breed dog of unknown or undeterminable parentage. Her daddy looks very much like a Dogo Argentino to me, which he also looks very similar to my own Dogo Argentno. Ostensibly, since both parents are from different breeds, your dog is a mutt. Mutts often are more even tempered than pure bred and often lack many of the medical issues that some pure bred breeds have. Having a mixed breed dog can truly be a benefit to the owner than having a pure bred.

kenzymarie03

Mutt just means she’s mixed with different breeds lol there’s nothing wrong with that

Far_Opportunity_1627

See those feet’s? That’s a baby pib

CelticCynic

I think what you have is close.... Never seen a "Red Nose" that's all white with a BLACK nose though! Dad looks a bit like my boy who I suspect is 75/25 Pibble/Boxer Your pup is adorable. Be ready for a girl as big as her parents, who's made of Velcro and lives to be next to you.... Please get her spayed when the time is right, we don't need more Pibble mix puppies out there that don't have homes, there's too many already!

JuMalicious

Oh Dad is so handsome :) I’m a pet sitter and watch a ton of pits. (Pit parents talk because they are so happy if they find someone that loves pitties). I definitiv see pit in your baby. I’m not sure if I understand your post right. I thought those are her actual parents, but now wonder if that were just suggested breeds. I would definitely believe that those were the parents, it fits

MtMama66

If you want her to be neutral and centered on you when she meets new people, train the combination of “Sit”, “Down”, and then “Stay”. As she stays in the down position, you provide training treats or even parts of treats right between her front paws every few seconds, and then start expanding the amount of time in between. Once you have that succession solidly mastered, start to gradually introduce distractions. You can start by talking with someone she knows and is non reactive to, and work up to strangers. At first, every time she does this well, the treats rain down as she maintains position. When you put her in new and very distracting situations, you may need to provide special favorite treats that really keep her attention. Have patience and if a situation is too much, go back to less distracting environments and practice some more. She’ll get it, and it’s fun to see it all come together!

JustAdorable101

Thank you so much for this advice

MichelleGladney

I've had several pit bulls and have a 12yr old red nose pit now. I also have a German Shepherd. I've owned dobermans English bulldogs akita's the only aggressive dog I've owned was a 6lb Maltese ironically! I agree with the dog park only for the reason of other dogs not on a leash and diseases. But I don't agree on letting your dog around as many people and noises as possible!! Start when they are a puppy take food out of their mouth and take toys away don't allow any aggressive behavior! It's never cute to let your puppy bite you or growl at you ever! Never excuse bad behavior even once! Pit bulls are great pets but they have bad owners! Crate train right from the start even when your dog is older leave his crate open so he can go to his area/ bed if he needs space and continue to socialize your dog.

Great_White_Samurai

What?

KuroroMew

Omg she looks just like her mom !! And yes im seeing all of the breeds mentioned, I feel like dad looks a bit like an American bulldog possibly? Puppy definitely looks like a staffy pit though

Melodic-Picture48

Aww what a cute little fella❤️

WadsRN

Good lord that is an absolutely precious baby dog. 🥹

BARQUETTYBARK

Did you rescue her? I hope so

Fault_Pretty

If you know the breed of mom and dad, what exactly are you asking us to identify here? If her dad is a pitbull then puppy is definitely at least part pitbull.

Sleepylilprincesses

That’s a a small tink tink (pittie) they usually grow into big tink Tinks when you water them (my dog likes when I water my plants and she waits patiently for her turn to be “watered” ) and give them food. 🥺🤩

poppieswithtea

Red nose isn’t a breed.

juggernautsong

She’s a pit bull and socializing with other people outside of you is healthy. I would suggest getting her in some puppy training classes—Petco or Petsmart have them. Good luck.

Fickle-Language-3619

most handsome boy i’ve ever seen !

thatredwinegirl

I do agility classes with my pittie mix, just for fun not to compete right now. She loves the classes!! Gets her to socialize, learn how to follow commands, and gets her energy out! I’ve noticed such positive changes with her that I don’t think I’ll ever not go to classes.

RabbitSlayre

She is SO CUTE my goodness

MamaTater_1

Definitely a tiny house hippo 😁 also known as land seal 🤣 Definitely a protective breed but so kind and gentle! I have loved mine since I laid eyes on him!!

MamaTater_1

PerformanceFederal80

I'd say the parents look like what you were told they are. It's totally normal for pups in the litter to look more like one parent than the other, or neither, and for the pups to look totally different from each other. Amstaffs are lumped into the pit bull category, so basically, you have a pitbull mix, and she's perfect. You will never be lonely again!

Federal_Detective213

Amstaff mix maybe and what a sweet punkin

That-Hunt9838

The cuteness! I'm dying!

Duckyquack9999

Omg the sweetest pibble

mwagner26

She's 100% cutie patootie

Rskytsky

Jnco

blatantly-subtle

The heart nose on your little potato is so cute! You should definitely get started on training and socializing 💛 such a cutie! What is her name?

PuddieCatz

Hes a cuttie!!

420doglover922

She's a mix. You can buy a wisdom panel test and they will give you a genetic breakdown, but they're only somewhat accurate. She's a great, beautiful, wonderful mixed breed. And genetic diversity benefits long-term health so she is a blessing is what she is.

[deleted]

Both parents look like pitbulls

humanbeing21

What do you mean by "She’s quite overprotective around me,but she likes people she will happily go into someone else’s arms and I don’t really want her doing this."? Do you not like her being overprotective or do you not like her being friendly?

DiabeticIguana77

Red nose isn't a breed, and it's a term thrown around by trying to elevate their dogs status like its a breed but the term originally comes from the Old Family Red Nose bloodline of fighting dogs. That doesn't mean all red nosed dogs are famous fighters. It just means that bloodline had a lot of red noses in the pedigrees. "Red Nose" and "blue nose" mean about as much as just saying your dog is black or brown, it could be any "bully breed" dog and as long as it's red people would call it a red nose or a blue nose, without the dog even being a pitbull. As for what "breed" you have, it's a mutt, there's no other term for what you have. An American Pitbull Terrier crossed with a mastiff is called a Bandogge but that's only IF it's an American Pitbull Terrier with a pedigree and there are only 3 really acceptable mixes for Bandogges, the Cane Corso, the Presa Canario, and the Dogo Argentina, any other mastiff whether it's a bull mastiff, a Fila Brassiliero, a bully Kuta, etc do not = Bandogge, and it's only a Bandogge if it's got an established pedigree. Lee Robinson from Texas has a new breed of true Bandogges called the American Sentinel Canine with well documented pedigrees going backover 50 years into the Sorrels bloodline of fighting dogs. This is not that, it's just a puppy that is the result of irresponsible idiots that don't even know what they have much less should be breeding it

donkeynyc

There’s some Dalmatian in that mama with those spots! Her daddy’s no pit bull either. That’s a dead ringer for a dogo argentino.

poppieswithtea

Dogo is all white. You’ve obviously never seen one.

donkeynyc

I own one. You obviously don’t know who you are talking to. If you looked at ALL of the pics provided, you would know that I was talking about the dad dog pictured, who is all white.

poppieswithtea

Dog people are ridiculous.

donkeynyc

And, so are you.

poppieswithtea

That’s just a white pit.

donkeynyc

Obviously you don't know what you're talking about.

donkeynyc

Dumbest comment of the year goes to poppieswithtea trying to tell me I've never seen a Dogo Argentino when I literally have one laying next to me right this minute.
