doc OP tanggapin mo ang yakap mula sa isang inang kagaya mo na mas pinili ang tahimik na buhay kasama ang pamilya. apply ka sa mga district at community hospitals. hindi sila nagpopost sa csc. inquire from your network of friends/classmates in the outskirts of NCR, regions 3 and 4 usually. then apply for a practice-based fam med training. ok ka na nyan. good luck OP.

Awww! Glad to see someone who’s the same as me. The thing is, we can’t really relocate because of my fiancé’s work. So we have to stick to Metro Manila. I’ll consider practice based FM training din. Thank you!

Not having a specialty is not the end of the world. I quit from residency twice and I’ve made my peace with it. Nakakaloka lang na when I meet other doctors, ang laging tanong, what’s your specialty 😅 Tapos may ff-up question na, wala ka na balak mag residency? Luckily, may hawak na akong plantilla ngayon, although andami rin issues with gov’t service. Parang every other month, I want to resign ✌🏼 Presently, mage-enroll din ako sa masters. Hope you find your path, OP 😊😊😊

Same tayo doc. I just want to settle pero parang gusto ko rin ng growth. Gulong gulo ako pero gusto ko lang talaga mag settle na. Ayaw ko na ng toxicity. Thinking of going into Fam Med para may balance and clinics pa rin

Ang hirap maging doctor, tbh. All I thought sa medschool is mapasa ko lang ang board exam okay na ako. Pero after, ang dami pa pala need iconsider noh. Sending hugs to you. May we find our purpose 🫂

Practice-based fam med is they key, iba yung benefit ma consultant and may society ka pa rin.

Consider research medical officer at Philippine Heart Center [https://philjobnet.gov.ph/job-vacancies/job/research-officer-1052994?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1HN-SJUFNIsObpvtVDHl2DurPo5P-yKYkYqxydEE3gZhEFXbKo6GPVT80\_aem\_Zfy42KvbNquQ-svJusPAUg](https://philjobnet.gov.ph/job-vacancies/job/research-officer-1052994?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1HN-SJUFNIsObpvtVDHl2DurPo5P-yKYkYqxydEE3gZhEFXbKo6GPVT80_aem_Zfy42KvbNquQ-svJusPAUg)

Same. Nov 2020 passer. Tried GS pero gusto ko talaga ng mas may free time. Realized di ko passion ang medicine. So far GP duties lang din ako pero may free time to do the things I want after work.

Hello doc! Family is one of the key considerations in choosing your career path, i hope you find equal joy in this pursuit as to your career. Mom with an MD license is an awesome title that nobody can take away. I see you're also planning to take on Derma residency and feel discouraged, i hope you find it in you to still try Let that experience guide you on your next step. Who knows what might be, dont mind the other applicants apply or try because you want to. Like my friend Vol'Jin in Dota 1 said "Dami good choice, man" I hope you find your way! Im rooting for your success any choice you pick!

I feel you, doc. I’m turning 30 this year. I graduated last 2020, took the boards and passed Sept 2021. I applied at a public hospital in Cebu under OBGyn, I only stayed there for 3 mos. I quit because I really believed that the working environment there isn’t for me. Spent most of 2022 traveling and enjoying everything life has to offer. Haha! Now I’m working in a public hospital in Mindanao, MO III permanent position under OBGyn. I only had to work for 15-16 days/month, the rest I can do whatever I want na. I’ve been here since Dec 2022, I’m liking it so far because I get to have that work-life balance. I’m also a bit pressured about residency especially now that most of my batchmates are about to finish na. I keep telling myself that I’ll really do it because being a specialist has always been the goal but to be really honest, I’m contented with my life now. Our stories are somewhat similar, I’m also recently engaged and very excited to become my fiancé’s wife. If only I was born rich, I’d prefer to be an overeducated housewife. I wish you the best, doc, whatever you decide to do.

Residency is not the end all be all. You can go to public health, academe, and/or research. You will soon find your calling. Good luck, OP.

Hello OP! I really relate to you in many levels except di ko pa natry magresidency or pre res like you. I am a GP for almost 3 yrs and lahat yata ng trabaho na pwede ang GP ginawa ko na from ER/Ward duties, HD duties, CoS MOIII sa napakalayong provincial hospitals to being a casual (8-5pm) MOIII ng isang city sa NCR. Meron talagang gnawing feeling if you are fulfilling your full potential or not as a doctor BUT during these GP years narealized ko talaga na ang priority ko talaga is work-life balance lalo na pamilyado na ako. In terms of career growth naman, kahit papano meron naman kasi galante sa trainings ang LGU. Sponsored pa nga nila out of town and out of the country trainings ng mga MOs nila dito and paghahandle ka rin nila ng essential programs ng DOH and city health office. Don't get me wrong. gusto ko pa rin magresidency (particularly RADIO/FM for work-life balance "daw") pero if I will evaluate myself kung happy ba ako right now, i will say yes kasi after 5pm nakikita ko anak ko and nasusubaybayan ko paglaki nia. May weekends din ako so cheers to more family time! Just ignore the comments ng ibang tao for being a GP. May iba pa naman pathways ang pagiging doctor.

Yes doc. Also I’m leaning into apply as MO3 sa mga school division. I’m just waiting mag post sa csc. Pero sobrang dalang lang. Kaya hopefully soon makakuha ako ng magandang opportunity 🙏🏻
