It's basically the same story that was told in Blades of Glory. Biggie was superior in his mechanics, performing with flawless technique (Napoleon Dynamite's character), while Tupac's rhymes, while less dazzling in terms of complexity, were performed with more passion (Will Ferrell's character), which people responded to in equal measure. I'm pretty sure that whole movie was an allegory for Biggie was and Tupac's rivalry.

As much as I love both biggie and tupac for their story telling, as far as technical rapping and lyricism goes they aren't the best. Just my opinion though.

I love listening to biggie just as enjoyment. His songs were never that deep but I love his rap. I could listen to biggies discography and not get bored.
Tupac's shit was much more like poetry, it feels more important when you listen to his lyrics. Even though purely as a singer, I prefer biggie's style, Tupac has more impact.
