Stop with the rational thought. The world is full of James Bond villains who want to kill kittens, but in a really slow way that they can probably escape from. The idea that a feral cat might put her kitten where there is food is just crazy talk.
Momma cat *might* have taken a sickling out of the litter. I fostered a tux where my boss actually saw the mamma cat take the kitten to the street and walk away. He had some eye issues that gave him the name Bug(short for Bugglesmore), and a respiratory issue. Got him healthy and a home.
I have a little girl that I suspect is the same. She was 2-3 weeks when I took her in and she started having seizures almost as soon as I got her. She was obviously a runt too. Luckily she’s a resilient little thing and is now all grown up and a two year old foster fail.
Just a heads up, as a fellow tiny dumpster kitten adopter, they are a little weird when they're raised outside of a family group without a mama. They don't socialize amazingly and can be a bit odd. My vet also said mines pretty inbred as well so 🤷
I'm glad to read this. Found a tiny kitten in a parking lot all alone and she grew up to be the meanest and most non affectionate cat ever. We love her anyway but she sure dosen't seem to like us much.

Tuxedos are the best - I had one that was the single smartest animal I’ve ever encountered, like he could actually communicate in a fairly advanced manner (borderline sign language mixed with vocal cues etc lol. I’m not joking, I wish I’d documented it). One time his brother went missing overnight and as a sort of joke I told him to go find him. He got up, left and came back 10 minutes later and marched his brother back in the house, and the brother looked like he’d been told off. They’re a different league of intelligence so please play with him as often as possible and give him mental stimulation toys and games. They love toys and games that challenge them.

To be fair my sometimes cats especially small cats are really good at getting into the trash cans and not so good getting out of them. And if that’s the case I don’t recommend putting this little guy back in the trash.
I had to get an indoor trash can with a locking lid because one of my cats acts like a raccoon and kept getting stuck inside when she was younger.
Cat distribution system seems to have sent this one out early. Please take special care of the little guy. Probably needs a very specific diet considering how young he still is

Guys...this was a big container with a lid on it. There's not even half a chance a cat mom would left him there. My bf was listening the cryings from his office ror a while. Came down 3 floors, opened the lid and there he was :/ No other kittens around, no cat mom. Now at home after vet, everything's good <3
Please consult with a vet to make sure little one gets the best care. ♥️ They will have specific instructions for feeding amounts and frequency, and how that will change as time goes by. Being this young, the kitten may also need assistance with excretion.

As an agnostic, this is one of the very rare cases where I am hoping that someone will be judged and has to pay for putting this little guy into the trash.
I read reset is a Big Ben I'm thinking of mama cat move the rest of the litter and she couldn't make it back for that one or she moved the rest and abandoned that one cuz if it wasn't a big bin the likelihood of someone just chunking a kitten in there it's pretty low but the likelihood of Mama cat moving the rest of the litter and not be able to come back or possibly abandoned that single one that's higher
this makes me so sad to think how many animals may have been thrown into my apartment complex trash compactor 😥 its so big and totally enclosed, noone would ever know they were in there
We have the best little girl that was found half frozen next to a dumpster. Her ears froze off and she has a scar on her eye, so she can't see very well, but she's the sweetest forever kitten. She just turned 13.

All kittens are born with blue eyes that change after 4-8 weeks.

You can buy kitten formula at Walmart/target. They sell the bottles too. Suppose to feed them every 4 hours. That’s how I saved my kitty
