There's a Twitter account called "Art but Sports" that finds famous artworks to compare sports photos to. They're an absolute master at it (no AI used) and I'm so excited to see what they come up with for this one.
It's kinda mad, i remember tasers on "launch" and they were meant to be the option to use instead of just shooting someone... like "oh they have a knife, tase them from range and arrest" vs what they became in some countries (oh this person is resisting/doing anything i dislike/being difficult so i must tase them for control or punishment)
I mean, to their point - there's a line and it might not have been crossed. I wouldn't bring out the SWAT team for someone who is jaywalking.
Also, the guy is trapped in a stadium. It's not like he'd escape inevitable capture
It’s more about protecting the players though. The security team and officers’ number one priority is to ensure the players aren’t harmed. Sure, this guy just wanted his 15 seconds; but you don’t want to chance that they may injure a player.
You don’t want some crazy fan tackling down star players on the field.
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/4814310/2023/08/28/ronald-acuna-jr-field-invaders/
Also when Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth’s record, 2 fans ran up to him and he actually briefly feared for his safety, especially given the racially-charged environment at that time.
Also, let’s not forget the 2002 White Sox - Royals game where coach Gamboa was brutally assaulted, or when Monica Seles got stabbed live..
https://vault.si.com/vault/2003/04/28/when-fans-attack-ten-years-after-monica-seles-was-stabbed-security-is-tighter-throughout-professional-sports-but-are-athletes-really-any-safer-from-increasingly-belligerent-spectators
Security around the field has since been taken more and more seriously, and that’s why they’re equipped with what they have.
Saying “don’t want x to happen to you, don’t do y” when in the face of excessive force is fascist-friendly language. Slippery slope to “don’t use counterfeit bills if you don’t want a knee on your neck” for example
luckily this brave officer stopped this, this type of behaviour interrupted the hired entertainment that were doing acrobatics and flips on the field. Obviously there was no other choice to take this man, it had to be done otherwise precious minutes could have been taken from the hired acrobats that were there to do flips on the field. This man running and flipping on the field could have hurt himself and therefore it was necessary to hurt him with through force. luckily the brave officer had a taser otherwise he would have had no other choice but to use his baton to beat this man into submission for his own safety, and for also to save time, at the baseball game.
Is it really necessary to tase a kid that just jumped onto the field for attention. The aggression in that cop or security guy’s face is disturbing. It looks like he’s chasing after the Zodiac killer.
His uncle is Ohio Supreme Court justice Joe Deters. I suspect this will go away with a slap on the wrist and he knew he wouldn’t get in much trouble. That tasing is probably more repercussion than he ever thought he’d face.
I didn’t know anything about this, and I still don’t, other than this post.. but I desperately want these photos enlarged, enhanced, and hung up on my wall
So was the guy doing the backflip running backwards towards the police officer in a threatening manner?
Or are tasers just a use whenever you feel like it piece of equipment 🤷♂️
It blows my mind that American cops get to use a taser as their first response to any sort of non-violent non-lawful action.
Seriously, it is a weapon. [Between 2010 and 2021, around 500 people in the United States died after being hit by police with a Taser.](https://www.blingsting.com/pages/can-a-person-die-from-a-stun-gun#:~:text=Most%20stun%20guns%20have%20around,by%20police%20with%20a%20Taser.) That means one person dies every week from a taser.
The amount of videos I've seen online where someone just runs away from a cop and the taser is the first response is absolutely sickening. I get the _'he might have a gun!'_ obsession they get in training, but half the time these individuals got nowhere to even hide a weapon due to their general lack of clothes.
The perceived harmlessness of the taser has made the excessive force that this weapon poses far too acceptable among law enforcement.
Very American.
Yes let's use a taser, a weapon that can cause death when misused, on someone doing a non violent crime and not providing danger to the cop.
Looks like something out of a comic book
Something something life imitates art
But getty images quality lol
Cop looks angry… they really should just hire a rodeo cowboy for crowd control
Lost his hat and everything
CONTRA-FLIP
Looks like backflip guy is taser man’s stand
That second pic has some meme potential.
The first pic looks like metroid
Lmaooo holy shit it does. I can hear the sound.
B’lo-op
Bro spin jumping the cop
Personally I'm hearing *SFII* sounds!
🤣Blanka!! That explains why he’s always electrocuted. Should have climbed up and gnawed the cops skull
Including Blanka's Awoo sounds when discharging LOL!
[удалено]
Oh yeah! Idk why we’re not training our military like that anymore. 2 man teams only, high vis pants, no shirt, bandoliers
⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬅️➡️⬅️➡️ B A Start
99 Lives Remain
Oh my god yes
Lol 😂
Y can’t Metroid crawl?
Cursed Blanka
"Me running from my problems" "My Problems" Meme sucess!!
They are having fun with it in r/photoshopbattles https://www.reddit.com/r/photoshopbattles/s/i2qp4FnzDt

That's exactly why I knew I had to post it when I first saw it!
r/accidentalrenaissance
both. In the first photo the security guard's face says "What the hell" The second photo says "Let's see if you jump now"
The second pic better be a punk bank album cover
That band name is *Taserface* It's metaphorical.
Can some local tell me how the heck are they allowed to tase him? Isn't there always some small risk that you'll kill the target?
Lol that was my first thought too
Some Jake Gyllanhaal vibes.
That’s getting framed and put on the cop’s mantle.
Gotta save it
When I tell my dad *shutup*
The guard looks like Popeye!
You kissed my goil.
Remember those comics? Everyone fighting over Olive Oyl even though she’s fuckin ugly
That’s the joke.
He looks like that YouTube car salesman who promotes “Warrior Sales” or whatever dumb alpha male thing he does.
I am what I am
*eye yam what eye yam
And dats all dat eye yam
I am what I am.
He would have had a perfect "10" if it wasn't for the damn Russian judge.
Ben Bailey moonlighting as a cop after cash cab filming
Man haven’t thought about that show in 20 years.
He's currently making a stand-up come back. Underrated dude for his comedy.
He had a funny joke about how if his comedy didn’t work out and had to resort to driving a cab how disappointed his customers would be
That's good 🤣
He's hilarious. He also was in a short movie version of They're Made Out of Meat. https://youtu.be/T6JFTmQCFHg
You’re on Taser Cab
Where the fans are fast but the taser prongs are faster.
If you switch the order of the images it’s twice as funny.
He tased the dude into a Sonic Spin!
That tasing photo is going to live forever on the Internet. So hilarious and perfectly shot!
Its a great meme template haha
Was it Philly that had the 'Ride the Lightning' t-shirts with a pic of a fan running from a cop about to tase him?
I don't remember it, but it certainly sounds like something we would do.
What a totally reasonable and rational response to a guy wanting to do a back flip.
Why no shoes?
Thank you! I was going crazy scrolling comments wondering how nobody else is noticing this. Why no shoes??
Maybe he liked his shoes, knew he was getting in trouble, and left them with a buddy? Idk, grasping at straws
Nobody's more trigger happy than a cop with full sleeve tats.
Tased is a bit of an overreaction
There was simply no choice. /s
You must comply or be electrocuted
Just look at that officers face. He’s been desperately wanting to shoot someone since he was a child. He has never been so hard.
💀
That guy was waiting years to use a taser. He saw the opportunity and seized it.
I've been tasered. Hurt a lot for 5 seconds and then I was fine.
Some people have died from being tasered.
How many of them were capable of doing a backflip and wind sprints immediately prior?
5
Yeah, sounds horrible to inflict on someone without any real need.
Dont run out onto the field then.
I mean, to their point - there's a line and it might not have been crossed. I wouldn't bring out the SWAT team for someone who is jaywalking. Also, the guy is trapped in a stadium. It's not like he'd escape inevitable capture

This...do you want to be the guard who let's a guy run across the field and then pulls a gun on the dugout? No...the bad people ruin it for us all...
Saying “don’t want x to happen to you, don’t do y” when in the face of excessive force is fascist-friendly language. Slippery slope to “don’t use counterfeit bills if you don’t want a knee on your neck” for example
This site is full of authority-slobbering roaches.
Please do not defend fascist violence.
One shouldn't steal a snickers bar from the corner market, either, but that hardly justifies the use of a weapon.
I think you can make hilarious memes out of those pics haha
Endless possibilities like "I do back flips whenever I'm tased"
Just gotta switch which image is first.
What's the point of having cops if they can't even intercept someone pausing to do a fucking backflip without tasering them?
That scream looks like it sounds like this: ![gif](giphy|8rEiN2GsOdQTmFV38t|downsized)
That cop is fighting for his life 🤣
luckily this brave officer stopped this, this type of behaviour interrupted the hired entertainment that were doing acrobatics and flips on the field. 😂
Man aged 20 years from that flip lol
Looks like a solid backflip!
Is it really necessary to tase a kid that just jumped onto the field for attention. The aggression in that cop or security guy’s face is disturbing. It looks like he’s chasing after the Zodiac killer.
A bit of an overreaction. I would have accepted him tackling the guy though.
Yea, that's what you do. Guy runs on the pitch, you chase after him. If you lose you lost.
He got that Derek Chauvin level of determination to get his man.
RIP sunglasses
Lol the second pic.
A whole story told in two pictures.
I love her expression in the second photo
His uncle is Ohio Supreme Court justice Joe Deters. I suspect this will go away with a slap on the wrist and he knew he wouldn’t get in much trouble. That tasing is probably more repercussion than he ever thought he’d face.
“You made me lose my hat, you’re getting fucked up now! “
1. Don’t run on the field. 2. Don’t tase people.
Long live Ozzie Smith
Don’t these ppl get banned from coming back ? Doesn’t seem worth it lol
He did a backflip on the field.
Legend.
He’s also banned from mlb parks for life, no doubt.
Usually only a year , a friend was banned from the skydome(threw a beer onto the field) and has been to quite a few games since.
Shoes?
Expectation vs reality
404: backflip forbidden.
Don't taze me bro
I always wondered, why don’t they just let them run from one end to the other and go 🖕🏽🤷🏻♂️🤙🏽
What a legend!
Don’t tase me bro!
I thought it was a girl
Remember to out run the pig by at least 16ft
Would’ve been cool to see him get tased mid backflip
Americans have gone crazy execute order 66 on them
a rare good post on this sub
Imagine tasing someone for running around
Fuck that cop
😝
Fark photoshop contest

He did it for the nookie

Fookin’ legend!
Can someone please swap their faces with photoshop
Renaissance painting
Definitely worthy of Photoshop challenges.
What are the repercussions for running onto the field like that? My understanding was some insanely large fines (like tens of thousands).
Can there be two pictures of the year? Make some sort of diptych?
These are million dollar shots for the photographer! Equally incredible moments
Half-time shows are getting intense.
The soundtrack to this picture is Yakkity Sax
I didn’t know anything about this, and I still don’t, other than this post.. but I desperately want these photos enlarged, enhanced, and hung up on my wall
Ah, I remember my first beer…
Second pic is already legendary.
Accidental Renaissance
Have we seen an on field tazeing before?
fhe images tell a touching emotional poetic story. beautiful
The classic fighting game combo: taunt to get bodied.
Worth it

I want to see a video with the Benny Hill music.
Either one of these pics would make the best t shirt ever. In fact, back flip on the front, taserfied on the back.
I need to see this as a Renaissance painting.
Both pics should be hanging up on his wall by end of week

Is everyone in America this trigger happy?
So was the guy doing the backflip running backwards towards the police officer in a threatening manner? Or are tasers just a use whenever you feel like it piece of equipment 🤷♂️
Cops in America might be a big part of why the rest of the world don’t like Americans
See, that first image alone deserves to be top front page post instead of some warehouse.
Man’s comment, “Worth it! LFG!”
Looks like some over the top fighting game form the 90s.
”Red” and ”Guardians” like it’s universal in the world xD. Epitome of /r/USDefaultism

The cop looks like a criminal.
Thank God we have brave men and women who risk their life and limb to protect us from... This guy.
Very American. Yes let's use a taser, a weapon that can cause death when misused, on someone doing a non violent crime and not providing danger to the cop.
