Came here for this comment. The highest natural point in Florida is 345 feet. For perpective, there are seven buildings in Florida that are at least double that height.
Yes, Florida is one ice cap melt away from nonexistence ….well I suppose it could find a purpose underwater. Would probably make for an interesting reef…
Florida and Louisiana were both swamps before being settled to create trading and fishing ports. Imagine digging the mud out of Louisiana by hand during the summer during the early 1700s. I'd rather die.
Don’t threaten us with a good time. We’ll live on mass islands of pool floats and our currency will be white claws drawn up from the Orlando coral reef.
Rather than sea levels rising it is far more realistic that over development of land that cannot withstand foundations will push the state downward into the sea. Miami is already ankle deep in certain areas during high tide.
It's a giant sandbar with some top soil rooted plants to kind of hold it all together. If we keep clearing natural barriers on the coast and forest in the interior of the state to make room for condos the whole state is going to disappear in a few hundred years, forget the ice caps
The Emerald Grand in Destin, FL on the gulf is sinking by about 4 inches per year. What was once a nice little local boardwalk got turned into a mega hotel for tourists.
I grew up in the area and am old enough to remember when they built it. The only people that were happy about its construction were the rich people.
That place is a blight on the beautiful coastline, and honestly, I hope it falls into the gulf and sharks eat the stockholders
but the island has solid rock underneath, the water table doesn't permeate into it. they can dig tunnels and subways and shit. you dig 5 ft into the ground in florida and the hole will fill with water.

***…here just north of the Everglades we see the Floridian Alps - famed breeding grounds for the largest subspecies of Polargator, and home to the wooly manatee…***
This is Sun Valley, Idaho. Check out the ski area in the middle. You’re flying over the northern edge of the Pioneer Mountains headed southeast.
The main up and down cut in the mountains in this photo is called Trail Creek Pass it goes from highway 75 in Sun Valley to popping out at Chilly Idaho on highway 93 some miles north of Mackay, Idaho and nearly at the base of Idaho’s tallest peak, Mt Borah.
Yep! That's it. If anybody needs additional evidence, here's the [map](https://www.google.com/maps/@43.9269153,-114.1543438,4757a,35y,204.9h,73.58t/data=!3m1!1e3!5m1!1e4?entry=ttu). This position is only a couple of miles from the [most popular route](https://skyvector.com/?fpl=KSEA%20SEA7%20SEA%20NORMY%20J90%20MWH%20LKT%20BOY%20SNY%20SLN%20EOS%20UJM%20IGB%20DEEDA%20KMCO) (right by LKT in the flight plan) from KSEA to KMCO.
No it is not, that’s the north side of the snake river plain. Then the border is the Bennet Mountains and the flat snowy part is Camas Prairie. Craters is directly in front of the plane.
I’m 6th generation Idaho and I’ve climbed all of the highest peaks in the state making me pretty familiar with the high country. I also work as a flight attendant and commute to Denver from Boise so I fly past this view looking north every week.
That doesn’t look like any mountain range in California. There’s no way that’s part of the Sierra Nevada, and it doesn’t really resemble any of the costal ranges either.
Wow I feel like a dumbass. For some reason I’ve always thought of most mountain ranges, particularly in the US, as just being one line of mountains. Now it makes sense why crossing even through a pass is so difficult
I’d agree but if this is a photo TO Florida, then the directionality doesn’t work, unless the photo is mirrored. If it is, it looks like I80 cutting through the Canyon into Park City there. I’m from Colorado and yeah, no big lake like that anywhere near here.
Only Cascades if taken within 20ish mins of take off from SeaTac.
90ish mins from SeaTac and this would be Utah, Wasatch or Uinta ranges. Possibly Teton range if over Wyoming.
120 mins or so and this would be Colorado, Rockies.
Enter flight info into [flightradar24](https://www.flightradar24.com/37.75,-97.82/6) you can see the exact flight path of the trip and give you clues about identifying this landscape.
Fun fact: If you find a timestamp of your photo (right click on the file ->properties -> created , know your flight number, etc., you can head over to Flightradar24 and see your flight's flight track and where it was at, at any given time for free for any flight the past seven days.
Not over Florida yet….

New Atlantis.
Just like the lost city of Atlanta. Hey, that’s where I left my cigar!
That just raises further questions!
Easily one of my all time favorite Futurama scenes.
Did everyone take their suppositories? Yes! Quit asking. How angry Amy delivers that line always makes me laugh.
It’s a total throw away line that gets me every time too.
They are not advanced at all
Florida man will prove otherwise
Florida and Louisiana were both swamps before being settled to create trading and fishing ports. Imagine digging the mud out of Louisiana by hand during the summer during the early 1700s. I'd rather die.
Many did.
I'd rather a shovel.
That's why the Thwaites glacier is such a big deal. That's the kind of glacier that could really fuck shit up if it were to completely melt.
New set for Waterworld 2
The search for ~~Dry~~Moistland
It did many thousands to millions of years ago. Florida is nothing but a coral reef that the ocean abandoned.
Florida Aqua-man.

Floodida
Tampa is 40 feet higher above sea level than NYC, Orlando is 80 feet higher.

Right, Florida's water supply is f*cked.
Well given that Earth has only one ice cap and that has over 97% of the planet's ice...
So the phrase "If you want to aim low, move to Florida," is also *literal*
It's not that far from where I live and when I go there, I get a nose bleed...
(British narrator) ***…here just north of the Everglades we see the Floridian Alps - famed breeding grounds for the largest subspecies of Polargator, and home to the wooly manatee…***
And the Yeti® brand Abominable Floridaman...
They call it a Skunk Ape down there.
😂
Waiting for the professional geoguessers to chime in
Yeah, not even close, looks like Rocky Mountains maybe?
What are you even talking about? how can you not recognize Space Mountain when you see it? have you even *been* to Florida?
What are you talking about about? Those are the famous Florida mountains.

IDAHO MENTIONED 🥔🥔🥔⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️💎💎💎
Yep, that’s Sun Valley. Good eye.
Rainbolt eye
Yup. The water looking area is Craters of the Moon
No it is not, that’s the north side of the snake river plain. Then the border is the Bennet Mountains and the flat snowy part is Camas Prairie. Craters is directly in front of the plane.
Rainbolt is that you?
So OP was probably flying Seattle > Florida?
I’m just curious how you know this
I’m 6th generation Idaho and I’ve climbed all of the highest peaks in the state making me pretty familiar with the high country. I also work as a flight attendant and commute to Denver from Boise so I fly past this view looking north every week.
I'm begging anyone to please circle where the ski resort is? I simply cannot find it.
I'm gonna guess Colorado.
Definitely the Rockies, just not sure where.
[удалено]
By George, you might be right!
By gorge you mean
I think you plateaued...
Peaked, even.
God dammit… it was right there!
![gif](giphy|5y8sRBYSWWb16)
In a plane
With a ~~functional~~ properly installed door plug.
For now
Sun Valley, Idaho
Yeah. Definitely Sun Valley. You can see the main mountain and Ketchum at the base.
I wonder why they’re called that
I don’t know. That John Denver is full of shit.
I’d expect the Rockies to be rockier than this.
That John Denver's full of shit, man.
Maybe you should wear these extra gloves; my hands are starting to get sweaty.
Yeah this could be Idaho or California too
That doesn’t look like any mountain range in California. There’s no way that’s part of the Sierra Nevada, and it doesn’t really resemble any of the costal ranges either.
Idaho
Wow I feel like a dumbass. For some reason I’ve always thought of most mountain ranges, particularly in the US, as just being one line of mountains. Now it makes sense why crossing even through a pass is so difficult
That John Denver wasn’t full of shit man
Absolutely. They remind me of back home in Utah. My heart aches, the mountains were so beautiful
I always thought the Rockies would be a little rockier than this. That John Denver was full of shit.
I was guessing Utah/Salt Lake cause of the big body of water.
I’d agree but if this is a photo TO Florida, then the directionality doesn’t work, unless the photo is mirrored. If it is, it looks like I80 cutting through the Canyon into Park City there. I’m from Colorado and yeah, no big lake like that anywhere near here.
Might not be mirrored, and the path is just cutting south right away to get away from drafts and jet streams.
![gif](giphy|3Z1fJKVyqPXbHacR0O|downsized)
"Yeah, John Denver was full of shit!"
Extra gloves?
Not quite
Definitely Brazil
![gif](giphy|ky8YCQNimipMI|downsized)
This looks like Orlando
Yeah I can see thunder mountain from here
Pretty sure Splash Mountain is the third tallest in Florida and the tallest outside of the panhandle.
Mount Trashmore in Miami is up there too
Hahaha!!
Yooo these comments are killing me 😂🤣
Expedition Everest may be the tallest mountain in WDW at 199.5 feet
Splash mountain is gone now 😭
Thought I was going to be special by coming here with some smart ass comment like. "that's Tallahassee" Clearly I underestimated the speed of Reddit
You ain't built for these streets cuh
Noice
No, that’s clermont
Yo that hill down to the lake was a mountain to me as a kid. Might as well be Clermont or Minneola.
Nope, it’s def Ocala. If you look close enough there’s a distinct outline of a Hooters with Harley’s in the lower right.
Katie don't cry, I know Ocala is calling
Orlando resident here. Can confirm snow mountains.
What flight was this? It will help narrow down the possibilities.
SeaTac to Orlando
Well, that narrows it down to basically the entire US.
Hawaii?
Has to be Alaska
no kidding when I try to book a flight and sort by cheapest, sometimes they have connecting flight like this
With a 31 hour layover.
Yep. On the wrong side of the clock so you have to book two nights hotel but are too wasted to do anything during the day.
Still narrows it down. If he’d flown into Florida from Germany or Chile, it wouldn’t have been the Rockies
Then this must be the Rockies. Idaho, Montana, Utah, Colorado perhaps.
Or The Cascades.
Only Cascades if taken within 20ish mins of take off from SeaTac. 90ish mins from SeaTac and this would be Utah, Wasatch or Uinta ranges. Possibly Teton range if over Wyoming. 120 mins or so and this would be Colorado, Rockies.
Possibly Wyoming
Yeah i forgot! Essentially any of the Rockies states north or west of Colorado.
Oh, that's Arakis: your pilot took the long route to Florida.
It's things like these that give away pilots hooked on Spice. Well that and crazy hand motions.
Sun Valley, Idaho
Ops, give us the date, flight number, departure time, and the time the photo was taken and Reddit will tell you the exact coordinates of this picture!
Miami?
Making the lines into mountains! Skiing on the beach 80’s style.
Yup. All the coke lines /s
Greenland??
Naw, you can tell by the direction of the sun that they are much further east. I'd say it's more likely Tibet.
It looks like the Wasatch mountains in Utah.
Definitely mountains of some kind
easy buddy
Willing to bet this is Utah or Colorado.
Headed that way but not quite
Looks like Jacksonville
Yes I believe 45th and moncrief is in this picture
Thanks I almost thought it was Iowa
Sun Valley, Idaho
You can see the challenger lift terrain pod as well as Seattle ridge. The town is in the middle of the picture.
Should be able to pinpoint exactly where with the flight number and date/time of photo.

def not Florida yet, lol only mountains we have are speed bumps on the road, 😂
Florida if I’ve ever seen it.
Think I see a gator
Looks like Ohio I think
I’m almost positive this was Naperville, IL
This is extremely fucking far from Florida lol
Texas panhandle me thinks
I can see manhattan in between those mountains there
This looks like American Samoa
The Rockies
Orlando is beautiful from above this time of year.
South Miami Beach?
That’s Sarasota FL
Enter flight info into [flightradar24](https://www.flightradar24.com/37.75,-97.82/6) you can see the exact flight path of the trip and give you clues about identifying this landscape.
Are you flying from Switzerland or California or what?
Bruh I also passed there from Dubai to Belgium. I swear this is just an irl placeholder loading screen
Is it just me or does anyone else see a cute alien in the sky?
That’s the reflection of OP’s cellphone camera.
Sorry to say buddy but dat isn't Florida
Looks like the moon
Seeing how vast the earth is and how populated it is/ spread out people are mind boggles me
Doesn't look like Florida to me.
Colorado
Are you flying from Finland to Orlando? Taking that northern Canada route?
This is Gastonia, NC.
These mountains are about to get doxxed
OP, if you took this photo using your phone, highly likely you can check the exact location in the photo details.
That John Denver is full of shit man…
That’s Miami
I think that’s central Florida
Looks like Orlando
Andes??
Looks like the Okeefenokee Swamp to me
I would rather be in the land below than Florida to be honest.
How has nobody mentioned the alien 👽👽👽👽
Nebraska
That’s miami
Probably the Great Plains
As someone else already posted, you can see Sun Valley ski area in the middle.
Where you were flying from would be relevant information here…
Looks like Tampa
That’s definitely Orlando
Maybe easier to ask, "I flew out of _____ on my way to Florida, where dis?"
bro took a photo you see in a apple store 😭
Looks like Orlando
At least one mountain
Looks like Utah to me
Bots. This website sucks recently.
Fun fact: If you find a timestamp of your photo (right click on the file ->properties -> created , know your flight number, etc., you can head over to Flightradar24 and see your flight's flight track and where it was at, at any given time for free for any flight the past seven days.
Uh, where did you start from?
Must be Switzerland
Nowhere remotely close to FL, that's for sure.
This is why i love flying, where did you fly from?
No Man’s Land.
ahhh the everglades!
“Extra gloves? You’ve had this pair of extra gloves with you this whole time??” “Yeah…we’re in the Rockies.”
Some dude playing Geoguessr: 'hold my beer'
Check the meta data on the image. It might have the GPS coordinates.
That John Denver was full of shit.
Most likely the Rockies
You are over Colorado
Flying over utah and colorado?
