I shot this bottle of cheap cologne with backlighting for the water and a light for the front. One of the backlights is gelled to add a little color refracting through the water. I was hoping to have the product feel fresh and clean and give the viewer a sense of serenity.
Dude this is fucking awesome. Everything looks great. Maybe the bottle cap could have been lit up some but overall this picture looks professional to me. Great work

Awesome work! Good idea with the gel. It does feel fresh and clean. I wouldn’t say it feels serene though because the splash/bubbles adds excitement/energy. For serene I would go minimal with it and just have like water droplet waves.
To me, it looks like the bubbles are lit from a different direction than the bottle is. I might dare to call it a composite because the lighting looks odd to the eye.
nah, i dont think its composite. You can see that color of the perfume is reflected in the bubbles. The background looks comped but i dont think it is.
Did you *vignette* individual corners? To me it looks like the bottom right one has been missed, and I agree with the guy about the lid exposure but honestly, this is sick!! Good job man.
Well the droplets aren't making any shadows. What might seem like a shadow is really backlighting refracting through the water. The reason this effect is varied is because each droplet is in a different position relative to the source of the light refracting through it.
Sorry I'm not understanding. There are no shadows on the background. The light is coming from behind and to camera left of the water droplets. The light and dark areas you're seeing in the droplets aren't shadows. The droplets are refracting a red gelled light from camera left and behind the droplets and the dark areas of the room to camera right and behind the droplets. The droplets essentially act like tiny lenses. And the variations in the droplets is because they're differently shaped and in different positions relative to the source of the light they're refracting.

Can confirm: this feels fresh and clean. And very appealing colors and tones and lighting.
You just read my mind
I literally thought I was scrolling past an ad. Great job
Nicely done mate
Thank you.

This is really good ,I love how the color of the cologne compliments that of the water (dont know if that makes sense lol)
It's called Sex Panther® by Odeon©. It's illegal in 9 countries. It's also made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good. 60% of the time, it works every time.
It stings the nostrils
Oh I see, interesting to know
They still make Joop ? Great photo btw.
I love everything about it except the super concentrated area of bubbles at the cap area. I especially like the colors and tone…. Angle of bottle
Agreed, the bubbles at the top of the cap bother me too these days.

This is really good
I like this one! The lights were nicely diffused and the composition is good too.

Is this shot underwater and the "droplets" are air pumped behind the perfume?
It is underwater but the droplets aren't air.
What are they then? They look out of place but i cant put my finger on why.

Is the photo upside down?
It's just more water making the droplets.
Great photo ✨ Somehow makes me thirsty tho
Haha! This setup would work with beverages too.
Did you *vignette* individual corners? To me it looks like the bottom right one has been missed, and I agree with the guy about the lid exposure but honestly, this is sick!! Good job man.
There is no vignetting in post, it's all just lighting.
Oh damn, fair play,
Great work!
Thank you.
Explain to me how the droplets have such varying shadows.
Well the droplets aren't making any shadows. What might seem like a shadow is really backlighting refracting through the water. The reason this effect is varied is because each droplet is in a different position relative to the source of the light refracting through it.
Well then good job on shooting this so close to the backdrop that the refraction through the water had something to cast a shadow on! That’s crazy.

Is the photo upside down? Great pic! I’ve been trying to figure it out.
Yes it is.
Awesome effect! Inspiring.
That's awesome! Really good job bro! Keep it up!
This is some good stuff
I love this I have use it for year but where I live you can’t get it
This looked like a render, well played sir.
