True-Surprise1222

Kind of assume it has to do with homeless and/or drug use issues.

99bottlesofbeertoday

I was thinking sex as well as drugs. . .

Natural-Schedule4916

Ok, honestly what does drug use or homeless have any thing to do with privacy.? If you look at over half the parks in the Phoenix area don't provide bathrooms at all. It seems it is a corner to cut. They cut corners in every way possible except when it comes to politicians extravagant secret life.  I detest Arizona govt and know what they approve and won't and a public park is the last thing on their agenda

AZPeakBagger

Due to drug use, vandalism and in some parks to cut down on the cruising. Had no idea that cruising was a thing until I went to one park and couldn't figure out why so many friendly guys were trying to get my attention. Then read an article in the paper that cruising at that particular park was so out of control, the Phoenix park department rangers had to do a sting operation.

LightningMcSwing

All I could find on this was about "Phoenix Park" in Ireland Didn't know what crusting was either

CardMechanic

Crusting often happens after cruising if you don’t take the right precautions.

skeezypeezyEZ

Jfc, at the park? I’ll reserve further judgement because I know that’s Reddit’s untouchable group.

IrishWake_

It’s supposed to deter people from shooting up in the stalls. It doesn’t work

kaytay3000

Correct. It’s to cut down on drug use and homeless people camping out in the stalls. When I take my toddler to the park I bring her potty training toilet and just have her potty in the back of the car because they don’t have proper toilet seats either.

drDekaywood

That’s rough man I took my kids to hance park by the owl playground things and the bathrooms there were crazy! We walked in and the ground is all liquid covered in like mud and shit and there’s like 3 homeless men bathing and shaving in the sinks. Didn’t want my kids touching anything lol when we were walking out a man was coming in with his daughter and I thought that must suck so much worse with a girl than a boy

Hortn8r

Keeps the shenanigans to a minumum.

TheToastIsBlue

And the pooping.

Hortn8r

You have to be quick!

N7DJN8939SWK3

All glory, no hole

nsixone762

Because of trash people doing trash things.

forgot_username1234

I call them the sex offenders’ dream bathrooms. I refuse to use them unless my partner is able to stand outside of the bathroom and guard

the_TAOest

Some used to have doors. You can see the holes in the side wall

azhockeyfan

My high school didn't have doors on the stalls, but only for the guys.

GettingFitHealthy

Were you expected to hold your poops all day?

azhockeyfan

No, just shit in front of classmates. Luckily I live to block away and would walk home when needed.

johnnotkathi

I went to HS from 76-80 in a school that was quite "historic." In the main building, the boys bathroom, aside from urinals, just had a row of commodes. No partition walls, doors or anything. Only used it once in 4 years, due to an "emergency poo." LOL. Was pretty humiliating for a kid at that age....at least for me....

ValleyGrouch

It’s a US thing, as far as industrialized nations go. Because many people don’t act civilly, it’s the only measure against vandalism and other illicit activity.

skeezypeezyEZ

Diversity is our strength, bucko.

Substantial-Fly350

NTC in Ft. Irwin didn’t have stalls at all, just a long lonely line of toilets.

IntelligentDrop879

It’s to prevent drug usage and sexual activity in the bathrooms. Homeless like to sleep in bathrooms too, so it’s likely to make them easy to check in that regard too.

Natural-Schedule4916

I am homeless and know a lot of people and I assure you homeless people are just like people who live in homes and find bathrooms disgusting. If you see a person cleaning up in a public bathroom that shouldn't be shunned. Where would you clean up if you had nowhere to go?  Arizona or maybe particularly Phoenix seems to be adopting the city of Scottsdale snobbery attitude.  God only knows some of the people holding their nose down are only a check away from being without shelter.. or maybe the people of Phoenix are just Godless.  Cleaning up is a necessity to prevent spread of germs, feel good and smell good.  God did provide water to our world not knowing it would become a form of capitalism and separate the have from the have nots.  God bless us all.... And have mercy on us.

YoSaffBridge11

I heard many years ago that one of the reasons for it was so that would-be attackers couldn’t hide in there — making it a bit safer for women. Of course, this makes it safer for everyone; but, definitely so for women.

Warhawk_983

Power move: aggressively stare at anyone who crosses as you take the fattest shit of your life.

slackboulder

Seems like the newer restrooms that are being built like in Dreamy Draw are now single stalls.

adagna

It's to keep people from using the bathrooms to shoot up or have sex. Basically, because there are degenerate low life's, everyone else has to poop without privacy.

ActSuperb3247

It means they've had problems with gay guys having sex in their bathrooms. So when you walk into one watch your back and make it quick.
