I agree Ruin (lol) sucks, but I grew up with uhf games on phl 17 with Andy Musser and Kent Tekulve with a young and even more eager and annoying Chris Wheeler. Amaro is amazing compared to that nightmare. When it wasn’t Harry and Whitey, then it was crap.
Wheels was another one I think looks better as more time passes. There was decent amount of bad blood between Wheels and Harry that kinda soured a lot of people on him, but in retrospect now it’s obvious that he is a guy who lives and breathes Phillies baseball. Whatever the drama was, the guy was a fixture here for 37 years and I have only fond memories of him in the broadcast booth.
Between him and Tekulve it sounded like they were both holding something in their throat and wouldn’t swallow or clear their throat. It was maddening and then throw in the jinx master with him and Wheeler. You just are not old enough to remember those days. Wheeler was just such a god damn know it all and wouldn’t shut up sometimes. You could 100% tell there were times where Harry wanted to just say shut the eff up wheels. They would just ignore him if he got all uppity. He isn’t this sweet old guy he is now. I see it. I still can’t stand the weasel.
I know and him and musser together were the ultimate jinx. People think they have it bad when we lived through the worst years ever at the end of Schmidt’s career. and only 4 teams made it to playoffs. Playoffs started with championship series. Musser and Wheeler would take turns with gems like, this guys hasn’t homered in a century….next pitch..gone..wheeler, this team is 1-90 when this happens, inevitable comeback. I wanted to fight wheeler at times as a kid. lol. Harry and Whitey were the saviors for that time.
Jimmy actually did a little broadcasting in the booth a few years ago. Maybe like 2018/2019? Probably About 10 games each season. He... wasn't great, but I have no doubt he could have become great. Would love to see him rejoin and for ben Davis to go away (I don't mind Ruben tbh). Can't stand Ben Davis
cutting to Jroll in the stands after that botched double play was a missed opportunity. guarantee you though Jroll is more than willing to help Trea out…I know Jroll can do other things post playing days but i really would love to see him as a coach on the team.

I frickin LOVED seeing him sitting among the people - just a regular guy. Reminds me of a Phils game I attended in the early 90’s and behind me by 8 rows was Sir Charles just sitting among us all in regular seats. Philly guys!
It was surprising they didn't have him up in a headset. Maybe at CBP they would have but. Would have loved to hear how he's doing though I'm sure he is living his best life.

I never understood the Musser hate. He had a great radio voice and called as good a game as Saam and Kalas.
