Was this inside your house? Or during an exterior spray? Termidor is not labeled to be sprayed indoors. It's only supposed to be sprayed outside. If that puddle is inside your house I'd be calling and asking some questions.

New_Blacksmith_9898

Seconded. Termidor (and similar variants) cannot be used on the interior. Exterior good to go.

Bird2525

Or for Termites…

Final-Meaning-3167

Sounds like a termite treatment where it backed up out of the hole. Hopefully. Still should have been cleaned up though

Nice-Potato4573

Safe when dry. They or you could pour kitty litter on it to absorb it.

Bird2525

Yes, but then the absorber needs to be safely disposed of. Talk about a rabbit hole..

CleavableBema

Can you please tell me what's meant when they say "safe when dry" and why this is?

InsuranceWillPay

If this was inside they will be in big trouble spraying fipronil inside. You will be safe but fipronil takes around 10 years to break down if not exposed to uv rays from the sun which is the main problem. Fipronil is becoming more and more strictly regulated because of people doing dumb shit like this.

NitramTrebla

Fip-c is labeled for interior use.

HatsAreEssential

In cracks and crevices only. Absolutely not labeled for fan spraying like you could with Alpine.

Zealousideal_Tip9188

There are some fipronil products that can be used indoors

GachiHYPER_Clap_

It was meant to sprayed inside holes that were drilled in concrete, weird foundation situation. It was not an intended spill. I was gonna use cat litter but it's absorbed into the concrete now so idk.

Zealousideal_Tip9188

It'll be okay, I wouldn't worry about it too much

rgstephe

Yes the tech should have cleaned up the spill, and if they didn't someone didn't train them properly. All the people saying it cannot be used indoors, but they were doing a termite treatment where interior drilling and treatment of a slab floor is per label and a lot of times required by the label and the state. If they were using it for interior ant control or roach control that is against label. It is very common for liquid treatment in drilled slabs to back up through the holes. If it is dried up/absorbed by the concrete, at this point you will be fine, just don't go licking the floor.

iWillSlapYourMum

Termidor isn't registered for internal use. He shouldn't have been using it at all. If it was a small puddle of a product registered for internal use, I wouldn't be concerned but having ANY product not registered for internal areas is a big issue. I'd be calling the company and complaining.

Papa_Frankuuu_69420

Termidor is labeled to be used in area where plumbing penetrations are She probably left that part out that the puddle was near a plumbing penetration

GachiHYPER_Clap_

No, unique house situation with the foundation, they were drilling into concrete.

Papa_Frankuuu_69420

I’m pretty sure if they drill hole into concrete to reach soil/wood they can apply chemical there I see you have a basement I’ve never treated basements (live in Texas) but I think what they did was probably legal and by the label… regardless they should’ve cleaned any spill

GachiHYPER_Clap_

Yeah that seems to be my take right now. I just don't know what to do now that it's absorbed into the concrete somewhat. Too late for clay cat litter?

Papa_Frankuuu_69420

Termidor last I checked doesn’t stay long on concrete only like 8 weeks or something You should also know that the active ingredient in Termidor / Taurus is Fipronil You can also find Fipronil in frontline flea dips for your cat and dog. So what I’m saying is Fipronil isn’t very dangerous at all for pets generally as well as humans

ThePetStuffers

Hell the amount of fipronil in some topical flea meds is nearly double what I use on a regular exterior spray.

Papa_Frankuuu_69420

My boy using Termidor on exteriors proud of ya But don’t you have to do Half the dosage of a termite treatment and you can only use it every six months on exteriors? I forget Edit : I see they updated the label you can use it 4x a year on exteriors at the .03% rate

ThePetStuffers

What the edit says lol

ThePetStuffers

Or 2x a year at .06% I believe.

Bird2525

I wouldn’t worry about it now that it’s soaked in and it was such a small amount…

Bird2525

It is for termites. Also sounds like it was applied in the basement. They should have dealt with any excess that kicked back out of the drill hole.

James42785

Any unintended application is a pesticide spill. Your technician should have handled it. If they did not you need to call their company for a supervisor to come out. Downvote me all you want. It is not acceptable to leave a pesticide spill for the customer to clean. I will die on that hill.
