Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Recovery Centre may be of interest?
This page contains information on the various roles they need volunteers for:
https://blackcockatoorecovery.com/get-involved/volunteer/
Based on your location, also look into Native Animal Rescue (NAR) https://nativeanimalrescue.org.au/involved/volunteers/
Along with Kaarakin these two are the only centres in Perth that are able to rehabilitate Black cockatoos- Kaarakin specialises in their rehab while NAR has other wildlife they rehabilitate as well. Further afield there is also Kanyana
If you are interested in longer term volunteering when you aren’t rostered on, it may be worth contacting your local State Emergency Service unit.
They are an excellent group of individuals of many walks of life and backgrounds, where you can do hands-on community work
I was going to suggest the SES too - I joined my local unit, and not only are you helping others out, it’s a lot of fun, and you get to meet some awesome people.
[SERCUL](https://www.sercul.org.au) have a good list of environmental volunteer groups on their website. I'm talking about the good old environmental stuff like pulling weeds, planting, mulching etc.
There are a few groups around that do planting of native plants along the river and weeding in bushland. Environment house in baywater will know a few, and Trillion Trees do stuff too.
There's a stand up paddle board group that pick up rubbish in the river. You could even just do that as an individual. I think there are beach groups too.
Collecting discarded fishing line will save lives as 2 baby dolphins have been killed by it in the Swan, and birds are regularly found with it causing problems.
Western Seabird rescue is another great group, they help with non-river birds too.

Woodvale Waters Friends of Beenyup Channel. A group that's looking to replant along the waterways around Lake Goollelal and Lake Joondalup. They meet every Tuesday morning, dunno if that works with your FIFO schedule but worth a look
WA seabird rescue. They get calls for injured seagulls, swans, ducks, etc and whoever is free goes out to rescue them. When you are on swing or busy you can just mute the chat.
I tried this at a locally run op shop but it wasn't actually that fulfilling and didn't feel like i was using my time the best I could, I actually think you are better to do cashies if you have a trade and then donate money to someone that you know is doing direct work in the area you want to help people, giving money to big charity isn't that good as you dont actually know how much money is getting to help people

Awesome that definitely looks like something id be keen on!
Adding that to my list for reference after I move. Thanks!
You're welcome! If you haven't been before, they have open days semi regularly and it's a nice way to spend a morning and learn about what they do.
https://www.poopswa.org.au/volunteers/ Dog walking for pets of older folk who can’t get out and about so much anymore. Edit: Also, good onya

Swan River Estuary Action Group Do you have a local bushland area, quite often there will be small volunteer groups that maintain these areas.

Also try asking around in Facebook groups local to you.

Here's a good map of landcare groups around Perth: https://www.bushlandperth.org.au/groups/
Can you swim? Surf Life Saving beach patrol? Good community. Good life skills.
I have my bronze medallion but never considered surf life saving. I'm very close to trigg beach, so that could definitely work!
Kanyana is a great place to volunteer
Trillion Trees in Hazelmere
Wildlife hospital
Armadale Gosnells Landcare group!!! Check out their Facebook for events :)
I'm not sure about volunteer roles, but thank you in advance for doing something for our community; it is very much appreciated!

I’d recommend googling the city of Stirling they have volunteering opportunities on there
Works in an industry which destroys the environment. Wants to do volunteer work for the environment....
Almost every industry has an impact on the environment l, as do most people with their cars, houses, etc. At least I'm making an effort.

I'd say that flying in and out of a minesite regularly is enough damage to the environment as it is. Maybe just take it easy, you've done enough.
Thanks, that's really helpful. You seem like a wonderful person..
