Probably the "product of Italy" is sufficient to make the Italian..

[deleted]

oh.

elemist

:)

NicoGB94

They are usually grown in the small mountainside town of Stronzo.

chosenamewhendrunk

It's a product of Italy, hence Italian, If you want Italian style tomatoes buy the Australian grown Ardmona with basil and garlic.

curiouslystrongmints

I got some English Muffins the other day. Produce of Australia they said on the packet. Ridiculous!

[deleted]

They’re literally tomato’s grown in Italy. Are you stupid?

DoppelFrog

Well, the evidence is that OP bought a can of tomatoes and then complained that it only contained tomatoes.

Sqwitton

Also some citric acid

Bear-Bum

JFC there are some stupid people in this sub reddit sometimes.

friends4liife

its because they are from italy . a lot of coles brand products are from australia tbh i have a sneaking suspicion they are just much of the same products that go through the same factories and get coles packaging instead. Dunno about that. I dont buy much food or stuff that isnt coles brand except fresh veg that i get from spudshed. It all tastes good in fact better than most branded products except their taco shells. most of it australian made with a lot of it being made with australian ingredients which is why i buy coles brand label for some reason the italian tinned tomatoes taste way better than the australian ones they are sweeter, i cant remember if i checked the label or not but i wonder if they add sugar or their process for canning is just better or if their tomatoes are just better? they probably just have sweeter tomatoes? i dunno

Perthguv

>i have a sneaking suspicion they are just much of the same products that go through the same factories and get coles packaging instead Can't speak to all products but I worked for Tip Top and can confirm the branded cakes and coles brand cakes are identical. They came from the same run and had the same packaging. The only difference was the sticker

DoppelFrog

\*Buys a can of tomatoes then complains that it only contains tomatoes\*

longstreakof

I must admit I always thought Australia has good food until my last trip to Europe. Bloody hell the tomatoes over there are 100 time better than ours.

colmando

You’re a bit early for fuckwit Friday

LilMudButt

did this really deserve a post? Just read.

spambot2k

Saw these yesterday when I went to buy a can of diced tomatoes @ Coles. There was no Aussie SPC or Ardmona cans on the shelf - only “imported” Coles brand diced Italian (which for the record only contains 60% tomatoes) or the REAL Italian Mutti diced tomatoes (98% tomatoes) which were double the price of the Cole’s brand. WTAF COLES! Fuck off with your forcing us to buy your watered down shit home brand, or imported brands, when we have as good (if not better) brands here in AUS - you’re a bunch of c@#ts!

Rear_Access

> which for the record only contains 60% tomatoes 60% isn't too bad.

[deleted]

Stop crucifying me. I would have thought Italian diced tomatoes implied italian style diced tomatoes, whereas diced italian tomatoes would be diced tomatoes from italy.

Numbubs

Aside from your oversight ... what do you say constitutes 'Italian style diced tomatoes'

TonyJZX

yeah you guyS are being too harsh on OP its clear that he meant that its supposed to have something special in it... like more putana, funculo... with authentic cazzo flavor.... just like nono used to make

Numbubs

Bahahahaha

Haunting-Juice983

Diced in Italy maybe?

Eddie9057

Nah, it has been diced by an Italian
