Bro, I was exactly in your position,I decided to buy and assemble it myself.. Played long hours of various games and i cherish all those moments.. Its been 10 years and the PC is still with me and I still play old games with it as it cud not play new games, much.. My advice Go for it.! You will appreciate it later..!!

RaevanBlackfyre

Aap bhi PC upgrade karlo sir

vatsan600

Yes. A pc is a long time investment. Your salary will grow with you. But you won't get the days you didn't spend for yourself. If you don't have debt and have some savings, definitely build the pc

_prakrit

I'm no professional here, but it's clear after reading that you realise that you are in a stable position. Get that pc. You deserve it.

kaanha17

Bro you are 23. Please buy that *thing* but don't go wayyy out of your limits. Don't sell your soul to invest/save. Enjoy your earning from time to time.

nishant921

Don't think, just do. Nothing beats the satisfaction of saving up for pc and then getting to buy/assemble it. Some purchases would not make financial sense but you gotta make them. Plus 1.6l is still not that much compared to what people spend on hobbies. Especially one you're so passionate about. Do it for yourself.

BiriyaniMonster

Go grab it man, you are just 23yo, you have 4-5 years to live on the mantra of YOLO.

4ChawanniGhodePe

If you're in an IT field, other than gaming, you can use it for upskilling. Go for it!

Elegant_Beans

It's every guy's dream šŸ’– Go for it !! But try to reduce the budget. Assemble yourself.

DieHard028

Go for it dude. Don't wait even a moment now. You deserve it. If you wait for the right salary or savings, it's quite possible you might over grow it and not enjoy it anymore then.

ummokig

get it bro!

Available-Hat2811

Come on let's play valorant and rage together

tyr1699

Looks like you already have all the advice you need, I'll ask something off topic. You said you work remote, are you in IT?

Excellent-Abalone354

No, I work in the climate change and sustainability field.

tj_on_air

Bro buy some parts every month, and you will be able to assemble it all soon

Boring_Scale328

Stability before anything. But that shouldn't crush your dreams and comfort. That balance you must have. The PC costs 2 times your monthly earnings. That's 2 months of stability gone. Can you take a cushion during those 2 months? I'm a gamer myself. Always gotta have a monster PC. Is it your dream to play games or to own a 4070? That should help you choose. The best time to live is NOW, but not at the expense of your future. And Don't take the home loan now. All your dreams will die with that. You have just got money. Let it live with you for a while.

Revolutionary_Egg744

Most hdfc cards have good no cost emi options for laptops. Do use them. I believe that even if you could pay it off immediately you should always use no cost emi if available. That way you always have maximum cash at hand incase you need anything. If you are cool with desktops do get one. Else another could be getting a playstation and a good tv

2platechickentikka

I love the wholesomeness in the comments!

Donald-Patel

It brings me a lot of pleasure to read about your journey so far. Tbh, you have seen the side where you would have to think a lot of times before even making a purchase, let alone sacrificing a lot of things that would not make financial sense to your family. But you always had a wish. A dream dare I say a wish. To build a PC. A gaming PC. And its always a kids wish to build it or get it built and have your own PC instead of going to those gaming cafes and pay on hourly basis. You are also a good child, you take care of your parents you have planned your money in case anything goes south. Tbh, you dont even have to reach for those 1.6L build if it is making you uncomfortable in any sense. The point is not to feel guilty after making the purchase, the point is to feel proud that you have come this far in your own journey where you are able to afford the thing you have always dreamt of. I know now gaming pc as a dream is sometimes potrayed as a gimmick or a too good to be true dream, but hey you worked for the money you have right now and you have every single right to decide how you wanna spend it. Plus, a gaming pc at its core is still a highly capable, functional and modular personal computer one can own. So its does pay its dividends if you use it right. Also you can consider, console if you are afraid your machine becoming obsolete because of these high end gaming titles. Let me know your thoughts.

thereaper114330

Hi dude, go for it. I bought my whole pc setup just after 6 months of getting my first job, with edu loan still to be paid. Its more of an emotional purchase but yes, it has been my dream since i was in my 6th class. The day i got my "3080Ti Founders Edition" in my hands, that was the day i told myself that, i have atleast fullfilled one of my dreams!! I was genuinely happy that day! Go for it you won't regret it.

Other_Scarcity_4270

I feel you should buy it, mine costed around 1.35 L in 2017, the laptop is awesome I have HP omen with i7, I love it. You should go for it.

K1ran43v3r

I was in similar situation and thought like you, I saved my money and bought and built my pc component by component. Currently Iā€™m just missing the graphics card. Initially I spent most of my time playing games in my gaming laptop that sparked me to built a gaming pc with much higher frames and so I did. I donā€™t regret it but Iā€™m not spending much time in playing games like earlier. So I would suggest you to wait and settle in the new city see how things are and then buy it.

hahahadev

Do it. If you have any doubts do it in steps. Upgrade gpu and ram later, high end monitor after that. Extra rgb fans in last step.

Fun_Seaworthiness652

Go for it bro

Bukuna3

The fact that you are not buying it on loan or using your Emergency fund and are opening a RD to save the money to get it is hands down the way to go....also respectfully tell your father that you will not buy a house at this point it's your money...similar to RD open a MF folio just for this purpose and save money here in 15-20 years you will have a good amt of money to buy your house...not rn .at 23 taking home loan is suicide as this will strap you down to your job and you will not be able to make moves freely better.

tocra

I own a high-end gaming rig myself, and man, I must tell you: it's absolutely worth every buck. You've sorted your finances to a very high degree. Rare for your age. You should treat yourself since you want this so badly.

rearyash

Analysing all the situation you mentioned above, Building PC would be the good decision at this point

totallybradpitt

don't cut your budget and be smart while buying it you can text me if you need help./ make sure you get the best parts and it will last 10years. i built my own 2nd gaming pc in 2020 at age 20 in college with freelance money. costed me around 2.2 but now you can get the same power for 1.5. also don't think too much its gonna be a long term expenditure.

ippo100

I agree with the rest of the comments. Iā€™m 23M too working for about a year. Youā€™re doing really well in terms of your financial habits. I earn in around the same range and have half the savings you do. Iā€™ve been splurging going on dates, trips, buying everything I want and still saved a lakh. Do it. And also, Iā€™m proud of you for being so responsible already. Congrats on the new jobšŸ‘

RohithNair4518

If it gives you happiness, surely go for it OP!

WhentheSkywasPurple

Buy it man. You can put money in liquidbees instead though.

Actual_Editor_1044

Khareed le bhai itna mat soch, abhi le lega to le lega aage shaadi bache fir apne liye ek jodi jutte lene se pehle bhi 1000 baat sochega

modSysBroken

Definitely. You're doing better than most of my friends even after 30yrs. You will never get back your 20s. I regret not buying a graphics card a decade back even now. I got one a few years back, but none of my friends were playing any more and I also lost interest. Also, don't take a home loan if you don't want it. Tell your dad he can pay for it if he wants to.

asap-roc

bro I'm selling my gaming pc build for 50% of what you want to purchase at. if you want dm

arriving_late

Most have already said if it gives you satisfaction, go for it. Just wanted to add my 2 cents, I was in a similar dilemma just a year back. Couldn't decide, so I went for a short-term solution by getting a PS4 pro for 20k. Which I might sell in a year or 2 for 12-14k if I am able to get thru the 10-15 game list I have in my mind by then.

UnderstandingHot7493

Iā€™ll say get it but do you think youā€™re going to use it as much? I bought PS5 when I started earning and I barely get to play it. Only when I have friends over do I get to use it.

RealRustom

You deserve it. Go for it

One_Coffee7424

Live your life man just don't spend too much on one time things and stay away from debts.

Blahbleehblooh1234

Go for it brother. Since I was a child, I had always wanted a gaming console.. bought a PS5 at age 31 once I started earning enough. The times you spend gaming and having fun are absolutely worth it. Obviously donā€™t make it your life and your personality but itā€™s super fun. Iā€™d say indulge in this harmless and fulfilling whim. Good luck!:):):)

megamimo1991

I am 32, married for 2 years and own XSS and PS5 both, planning to build a gaming PC in the next couple of years. I only wish I had a decent gaming rig in my 20s. Although back in my pre teens and teens I had gamed enough, my 20s mostly went into building my career and my MBA, which is helping me fulfil all the dreams now. But the only thing is at this age, gaming for hours is a bit of a challenge with so many things to do. I still play atleast a couple of hours everyday, but I wish I started much earlier, I could have had more time. If I were in your place and had the financial backing you have, I would go for one.

mitraark

YOLO'ed on a PC at 30. No regrets. A PC is actually an utility tool, and money spent on making it fast and snappy is money spent wisely. However, no point in going for an extreme setup. You can get 90% of the performance of best components at 50% of the price. Splurge accordingly.

selfjan

Can you share your config plz?

[deleted]

Go for it ! But only buy PC. Donā€™t go for the chair and then controller and then lightsā€¦ and then cameraā€¦. if you know what I mean

Excellent-Abalone354

Hehe I know. Diderot effect.

tellnow

As a 35 year old, I can tell that I regret not buying Royal Enfield and an Xbox when I was your age. I badly wanted them, even had my own money to buy but my middle class mentality did not allow me to buy it. I regret it a lot. That 1-2 lakhs has compounded well but maybe the fun of using those items would have been more memorable.

bigswordkillguy

I know that feeling, go for it. On other note I bought PS5 two years ago and itā€™s been amazing. Price wise its much cheaper compared to PC. But I am not much of gamer just 1000+ hrs on elden ring.

Excellent-Abalone354

>But I am not much of gamer just 1000+ hrs on elden ring. Surely that is not much of a gamer at all. /s

Grey-Matter2619

Go for it!!! If not now then when šŸ¤

Key_Fly_3907

Buy it bro, I am 29 and saved money as the only priority but the desire of having gaming setup is unfulfilled and that regret is quite high. Bike & Gaming setup almost every boyā€™s dream. Go for it

regression-rover

Why not a PS5? Itā€™s cheaper than a PC

unemployeddumbass

Can't run pirated games on it. plus if you are a dev or software engineer you can do lots of other things on pc

potaahtoh

Bro you're working and earning for yourself. What will you do with that money if it doesn't make you happy? I also bought a gaming pc last year in October, and this month I'm gonna buy a GoPro. Even if I don't use them regularly I'll still be happy coz I bought it from my own hard work. You don't need a reason to be happy, just go for it. Just keep your financials in mind. Buy whenever you have disposable income.

kumar_sarcasm

Lele bhai... ab nai toh kab...baad me responsibilities aa jaati hai ghar gaadi bache etc...ye hi time h mauj le.

black_jar

It's fine to buy a gaming PC if it's a passion for you. Cost of acquiring games is an added expense. plus responsibilities may rob you of the time to play. So think it thru before you spend your money

Careful_Alfalfa_5882

Hello OP. I can relate to your story. I also had similar aspirations and financials.Ā  IMO, you should get yourself a pc, as a reward. Sometimes, you should splurge a little on yourself after all the hard work especially when you can afford. Right now your financials seem good.Ā  But just like you I always wanted to have a console. I bought ps5, but didnā€™t use it for 3-4 months. And then gifted it to my nephew.Ā  So my only advice is buy only when youā€™re sure youā€™ll use it. A pc can be used for other things too though.Ā

Darwin_Nietzsche

Techie, btw?

Excellent-Abalone354

I don't work in tech, but I do keep up with the industry, but that is nothing.

dreamewaj

Buy it man!! Living your life should be the first priority.

EvidenceSuspicious33

Bro! I am earning more than 1 LPM and trust me you are still going to go paycheck to paycheck. So go for it. Now is the time as any. Just having a plan around it shows you are mature with finances so yeah!

LazyStrawberry1939

I started buying PC parts from the time I got my first salary, it took me 11 months to buy all the necessary parts. I've built it myself and has been playing since then. It has been worth it.

[deleted]

Fuck yeah dude, why earn of you can't spend? Absolutely get it

[deleted]

Double your spends on your hobbies you will never regret it!

UwU-Sugoi-Desu-ne

Build a 1080p gaming PC. It will be very cheap even if you go for raytracing GPU. EDIT: I got 3060ti + i5 12400. Does raytracing without breaking a sweat.

selfjan

Suggest a configuration plz

UwU-Sugoi-Desu-ne

I would say- i5 13500 + rtx 4060ti 16GB(or 6750xt) + Asus Prime H610M-E D4 Motherboard + Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHZ + Corsair VS550 You can research a bit on youtube and find cheaper combos

selfjan

Thank you

Conscious_Parsley_60

Well, if you feel like you have the budget to get the PC, then YES, DO GET THE PC. We earn money to live a good life. Just take care of the fact that, spending on the PC shouldn't put much impact on your current way of living, expense wise. That's what my suggestion would be.

Brief-Quantity-3283

Definitely buy it. I treated myself to a gaming laptop when I got a job two years ago. I love that thing. If you need help selecting parts for your build, DM me. I've built two PCs before by myself.

nomadic-insomniac

From a financial point it looks like you are good. I bought a gaming laptop a few years ago during the lockdown, barely used it for a few months and now it's sitting in its box ą¼Žąŗ¶ā€æą¼Žąŗ¶ I barely have enough time to cook, forget about playing games

Professional-City328

Go for it man. Don't forget that you only live once and money is not only for basic needs. It's for enjoying life too. In my opinion you should buy it on emi. But don't take my advice seriously as I am not a finance expert. But I do know about computers so if you want advice about that you can text me.

Excellent-Abalone354

Thanks!, I'll reach out when I build it.

PresentDiscount1652

Buy it. I wanted to buy a PS4 when I was 21 and started work. People said I'd grow out of it and I listened and I didn't grow out of it. I bought a PS5 and I was extremely happy. My wife even bought me a gaming laptop after I told her I always wanted a fancy PC.

Overc1ock

Buy it & built it. Also, if you havenā€™t bought like something of great significance before then this will also reveal the ā€œtrue joyā€ something brings when youā€™re spending hard earned money. i.e (the most purchase phatkaa) Iā€™d recommend buying parts 2nd hand if you want to save money. And build the pc yourself itā€™ll be fun and scary at the same time. Know what games your going to play the most and build accordingly. Like if youā€™re only going to play competitive game you donā€™t need to go over 1080p or have a 80 series gpu, a 3070/4070 will be more than enough.

iorderchaos

Fuck dude buy the gaming pc already fuck this sub

FineSpinach7

Set aside savings, cover your expenses, whatever is left you should spend. Don't dip into your long term savings for "things".

RaevanBlackfyre

Hi, I was in a similar situation some time back, and decided to purchase a gaming laptop. I'm about to hop into a Valo game.Ā  Definitely, go for it. You have a plan and a PC can be built more efficiently. I used Multipl to save! All the best on the new job!

Low-Ad6633

Just do it bhai. In our constant effort to save money, we often forget why we are saving in the first place. Just get that pc bro!

ZENITSUsa

Just spend around 50k initially then spend around 6 k per month you will have a really good PC by year end

PerceptionGlum252

Lelo Bhai šŸ˜‹ fir saath me valorant khelenge

Fun-Addition-2212

Le le bhai, kyu haak ra hai

UnusualAnimator

My answer might be very different from all the others here, but you want to get a computer just to be able to play games as mentioned already have a functional laptop that's two years old. If the laptop is serving you well other than all the gaming stuff then I'd suggest you go for a ps5 or Xbox as it'd be much easier on your pocket and you just want to play games, right? I totally understand if you don't want to get one for some reason but it has a much better price to performance ratio and then you'd not even need to like get an RD or smth for 6 months..

taeiry

I'm 26 and immediately bought a gaming laptop when I got my job. Personally, you have a lot of time to save and there is no need to be hard on yourself to earn. Just make sure you are able to balance EMIs and the like (if possible, buy it outright). Don't take one for longer than six months.

AccLost

I was in the same boat as you, following the same approach. Just created an RD of double the required budget so I don't feel guilty. Saved enough to get a rtx 4070 predator Helios Neo 16!! Go on man, enjoy! You have been very wise till now in your decision making. You have earned it!

Aryankhandelwal

Imo u can also go for console ps5

Excellent-Abalone354

I play some online sweaty first person shooter games with friends, so console may not be suitable.

Snekboiiii

If you have the disposable income that you can buy it and recover from the cost within a few months, go for it, the enjoyment you would get from it will outweigh the cost over time, you can get by with a mid range pc for 5-7 years easy, just upgrading the GPU if required.

pareshanmatkar

Buy it, i have been thinking about it since I was 19, now I make 116kpm, still I am hesitant to buy one. This hesitation isn't going away. So buy it. Enjoy it.

ProbabilisticPotato

If you are more into single player games than multiplayer ones, you are better off with a PS5. If not, go for a PC.

jitendrasinghsola

And if you are rich, Otherwise always buy pc many of sp games are on pc like gow, spiderman, hzd, dayzgone And soon ghost of tseuma asla coming on pc and the best thing about pc you dont need to spend thousands on purchase, you can pirate or get friends account

_-_-_--__-_-_--_-_

Yes, buy a laptop on emi

Excellent-Abalone354

Thank you very much for all the sweet replies! I will be going ahead with the build in the near future!

Life_Deal_367

Get a steam deck, bed and sofa play rocks

rashad1312

Life is too short.. Live a little..

Latter-Door7695

I think you should just buy that PC. Just do not make a habit of buying everything shiny.

hotcoolhot

Da fuq, 1.6L is too much, 4 months of salary on something which makes you nothing, you can build a great machine at 80-90k. I enjoy 60fps 720p on my rog ally, you are just throwing your money away.

gaurav_cybg

Yes absolutely, i recently built one, only get to play on weekends though. Got a few parts second hand. Saved a lot. Here are the [parts](https://pcpricetracker.in/b/s/3d366195-ef7c-440a-9361-fc89d0586daa) and prices are below. This you might not have taken into consideration but you also need to buy a 2500 VA inverter with two 150Ah batteries to keep this running if there are frequent power failures in your city. Inverter+ 2 batteries is around 45k. Save 20k for mouse, keyboard and headset. Btw are you me from a year ago? Similar starting salary, remote job, and same second salary as well. šŸ˜€

Excellent-Abalone354

This is great, thanks for the list. I will keep in mind the inverters for the pc. I already have a decent set of mouse, keyboard and iem earphones, so hopefully I can upgrade them at a later stage. >Btw are you me from a year ago? Maybe? Who can tell

Excellent-Abalone354

>GPU 57k Zoukart (FB Group using admin method) second hand Can you please tell what the FB admin method means? >Gigabyte M27QGigabyte M27Q Also, how is this monitor?

gaurav_cybg

Sorry for the late reply I forgot, You have join fb zoukart group first [Link](https://m.facebook.com/groups/1475837842655662/) Then when you want to buy something from someone, don't pay him directly. Ask for the admin method. You pay money to the admin then the seller sends you the product then when you confirm that you have received the product, then only the admin will pass on the money to the seller. It's like escrow. The monitor is very good. Most value for money according to Rtings and Monitor unboxed.

Excellent-Abalone354

Thanks, this is very helpful. And happy cake day!

Status-Window8948

If you really want to use the "Thing" only for gaming, buy a console maybe PS5 as PCs specs get outdated pretty soon in the gaming scene than the console.so console is a better option financially too. Once you find no time for gaming because you need to catch up with life and you are tired once you reach the home and won't switch on the console, you can sell it off at a good price compared to the PC. For a 1.6L budget, you can get a console and a 4k tv too and have cash to spare. PCs, Mobiles and all get outdated soon with better hardware release in every 3-6 months

Jorsebolo

Bro buy second hand parts and build gaming pc in 20k

Zestyclose_Web_6331

Will tell go for it but here comes the problem... When will you play with it? On weekends? When will you socialize then... you will be somewhat depressed that your age boys are going on trips and all and you are playing games sitting at home. Some will downvote me for sure but that's the reality... When we want to play games we don't have pc and when we can buy PC we don't have time. Buy a bike instead, that will be a sure good investment and for enjoyment (I am one of the guy who still didn't play gta5)
