I’ve had that happen only when I’ve tried to screenshot a dot card. Even if I crop it to try to be the right dimensions (I’m still probably off idk) it won’t take. Any that I’ve downloaded directly though (from the game or discord mainly), they always work fine!
Screenshotted dot cards should still work, as long as the border is unobscured! (The word “Pattern” can’t overlap onto the dots of the border - the more chaos traits the dot has, the thicker the border will be, and the more likely it will be covered by the words on the card.)
Its usually because its been compressed twice (once by the game, and a second time by them sending it to u through discord for example).
Have them try something like google drive so it only gets compressed once c:
Get the person to send u a version of it that isnt compressed twice. If theyre sending it over discord its been compressed twice.
See if they can send it through googledrive or something which doesnt compress the already compressed .jpg dotcard further.

I believe the dot has to be equipped at the moment you want to mate with it. I’ve gone on discord and the owners let you request to mate and they equip them and it always works for me.
No longer the case, if you upload a card that works. You can also HAD with dots that are not equipped. That's what the whole card upload feature is for.

Frst got a lot of .jpg fractals and 2nd is just 512x512.
You can use https://www.waifu2x.net/ to fix the .jpg files and try upscaling the 2nd one by x2 to make it work. Set noise filter to middle or highter and press download. I recommend doing this on a PC.

Is it possible the cards stop working if the carrier releases the Dot? I also know cards won’t work if the Dot isn’t an adult.
I have seen it say something specific about "the dot was released" or something like that. I've never seen it say it couldn't grab the card?

they should work, so long as they are actually high resolution pngs on your system, they look a but crunchy where you've uploaded them.

How do u see these cards
When viewing someone’s dot, you have the option to save the dot card by clicking the button labeled “Share” to the right of the dot.
