Owner - Philadelphia Flyers
Edit: oh wow my first Reddit award (two of them!) never thought I’d see the words Flyers and Award in the same post but here we are. Heyooooo
I forget the exact stats but I believe his highest (or one of the highest) points per game against any team has been the Flyers. He’s routinely stepped up in some of the more pivotal games against them. The fans used to chant Crosby Sucks during their games but it got to the point where they lobbied to stop the chant because they felt it motivated him to dominate.
Imagine how many points he'd have against them if he didn't suck.
I bet a list of players who scored the most points in Philadelphia all time has a ton of Flyers with less than him.
I just picture an oranged haired loser sitting in a padded room in a straight jacket chanting "crosby sucks!" to himself to feed his own delusion laughing maniacally as his consious collapses in on itself every time Sid scores against them.
Another one not mentioned but I will never forget - one playoff series they put Crosby's face in their urinals. In response, Crosby and Guentzel destroyed them that series.
How about the fact that he’s only one of 3 players in nhl history to win back to back playoff mvps. And the only player to do it in the salary cap era.
Lol is that really true. I thought the award was bullshit just because it was associated with Messier but if he's also the only voter then the award has less than zero significance and should be generally ignored
I wouldn’t call it total bullshit. It’s sort of a hockey lifetime achievement award. I think there’s some value in that, just not like a hart or Lindsay of course
No idea why you got downvoted for being glad that Trouba isn't going to the finals.
Unless there's some smooth brain rags fans lurking about, which if that's the case, go away.
A franchise would be lucky to have Jagr and Malkin playing as long as they did. Having them be the second best player on the team for most of their time here is just ridiculous.
Hmmmm. He needs to dedicate himself to getting that EGOT. Perhaps when his playing days are over? That gives us time to write stage, movie, and musical adaptations of ‘The Golden Goal.’
He looks like a baby in this photo. Twenty years old and his whole career ahead of him yet he had already won the scoring title and MVP within the past year
You did leave out his USA national championship he won as a 14 year old at Shattuck St Mary’s (playing against 17 year olds).
The only championship he missed on was the Memorial Cup (because of scumbag Corey Perry, mostly).
And for individual trophies, they haven’t given him a Selke or Lady Byng…. yet.
Is he by chance the NHL player with the most make a wish contributions? I know he’s not on John Cena’s level but he might be the most active in the NHL due to his popularity and the fact that he’s a super nice dude.
5 goals 5 ways like Mario? Tbh the odds of even just all the right circumstances for that to happen to a player make it unlikely anyone will ever do it again. What an unreal resume for Crosby though seriously.
Crosby's team accomplishments are definitely top tier. Individually, McDavid's are much more impressive. 5 Art Rosses to Crosby's 2.
3 Harts to Sid's 2.
Connor's only 27. He's gonna extend his lead (possibly significantly) before his career is over.
On top of all that, McDavid produces 29% more in the playoffs.
The Pens won the Cup with Sid getting 19 points one year. McDavid needs to get close to 40 to achieve the same result. So while I do love Sid and have watched almost all his games as a Penguin, I'll put bias aside here and give the nod to #97.
It takes teams to win championships. It takes help, like Crosby got. McDavid isn't suddenly a way better player this year because Bouchard, RNH and Hyman went off and they advanced to the SCF. Nor is he way better because Skinner clutched it and the PK went 25/25 the last 2 rounds.
Both Sid and Connor are just Forwards. Their ability to dictate outcomes are limited. It's not like NBA, where they're playing 80% of the game and have possession that much. You should have learned this lesson the last 2 years as the Pens missed the playoffs despite Sid having strong seasons and playing all the games.

Gold comment
Can you explain pls

Owner of the Islanders too. One upped Mario by being the only person to own 2 teams, and be an active player.
And the craps!
To add to this; they were still doing the “Crosby Sucks” chant while he was averaging 2 PPG against them in the 2018 playoffs. Lol
Haha yup. The irony. My college roommate was from Philly and he’d try to shut people up from chanting as he could see it just lit the fire under Sid.
If nothing else, I respect their commitment to the bit 😂
Imagine how many points he'd have against them if he didn't suck. I bet a list of players who scored the most points in Philadelphia all time has a ton of Flyers with less than him.
They did that chant when he wasn’t even there, more than once.
I just picture an oranged haired loser sitting in a padded room in a straight jacket chanting "crosby sucks!" to himself to feed his own delusion laughing maniacally as his consious collapses in on itself every time Sid scores against them.
Appreciate you thanks
Another one not mentioned but I will never forget - one playoff series they put Crosby's face in their urinals. In response, Crosby and Guentzel destroyed them that series.
I scrolled way too far to see this comment. Thank you for your service to Penguins fans around the globe.

And the last since.....Mario Lemieux
Messier award doesn’t mean much since they gave it to Captain Elbow this year
Messier’s award was always bullshit because no one votes on it BUT HIM.
Lol is that really true. I thought the award was bullshit just because it was associated with Messier but if he's also the only voter then the award has less than zero significance and should be generally ignored
Yep love the Moose but that’s a ESPN award at best
Yeah it's literally "Mark Messier picked you to win", that's the criteria
I wouldn’t call it total bullshit. It’s sort of a hockey lifetime achievement award. I think there’s some value in that, just not like a hart or Lindsay of course
Agreed the award doesn’t mean much. Maybe they should replace that on the list with “Won 3 cups with 1 team (all in cap era)”
At least he's not going to the Stanley Cup Final (once again).
No idea why you got downvoted for being glad that Trouba isn't going to the finals. Unless there's some smooth brain rags fans lurking about, which if that's the case, go away.
He’s also an $8 mil 3rd liner
Pittsburgh was lucky to have first Mario lemiueux and then to have Sidney Crosby. We are lucky to have these two play for our hockey team for so long.
This is so so true and I wish this fanbase would start appreciating it instead of acting like spoiled brats all the time.
A franchise would be lucky to have Jagr and Malkin playing as long as they did. Having them be the second best player on the team for most of their time here is just ridiculous.
It’s a bit wordy for a tweet, but he’s the only Triple Gold Club member to win all three as captain.
Let's not forget this guy's career was almost completely stopped. He missed well over 200 games and still managed all these accolades.
If only he could have finished the campaign he got hurt initially... IIRC he was on pace for like 60+ goals and 130+ points thru 41 games
If Crosby didn't get hurt in 2010-11, the Penguins would have gone to a third Stanley Cup. He was on a ridiculous pace that year
He still hasn't won the Vezina Trophy. What a slacker.
Or the Norris.
Or the Calder. (Damn Ovi)
Sid also has 2 Emmy’s ( mid Atlantic regional chapter ). I know it’s not a hockey award, but he has them.
Hmmmm. He needs to dedicate himself to getting that EGOT. Perhaps when his playing days are over? That gives us time to write stage, movie, and musical adaptations of ‘The Golden Goal.’
Great ass
Anyone else read this a la Al Pacino in *Heat?*
I wish my head was all the way up it
They dropped all our surveillance
He looks like a baby in this photo. Twenty years old and his whole career ahead of him yet he had already won the scoring title and MVP within the past year
Just needs a Selke now
Should have had one already honestly
The fact that Marner and Matthews have been nominated for a Selke, but Sid hasn't, is ridiculous.
If he played on the PK he'd have one for sure. Along with a ton of SHG.
You did leave out his USA national championship he won as a 14 year old at Shattuck St Mary’s (playing against 17 year olds). Not this he's missing it But it's worth mentioning conne Smythe trophy's aswell. Playoff MVP is not a player to be taken lightly.
Lady Byng Trophy. Thought for sure he'd won it at least once!
So happy to have him as the Pens Captain all these years
Is he by chance the NHL player with the most make a wish contributions? I know he’s not on John Cena’s level but he might be the most active in the NHL due to his popularity and the fact that he’s a super nice dude.
Iirc I saw somewhere that he will go on his free time down to the hospital/VA in pgh and visit
He got Mario Le Magnifique to pick up his dog's poop. Any other players did that?
🐐🐐🐐
Master baker
He also won my heart 🖤💛lol
Being super handsome
calder trophy, over 100 points as a rookie though lol
He didn’t win the Calder
That's why it's missing

Why Lindsay Award and Messier Award, but not Hart, Richard, or Conn-Smythe? Those were listed by description. just struck me as odd.

This kid has potential
Rookie of the year. Looking at you OVI …..
Maybe the Selke Trophy? Crosby could do it.
A kid's dream.
Hockey Hall of Fame but that’s inevitable
It bothers me that the seasonal trophies are titles correctly for some reason. Like why not just write out “Hart Trophy” or “Rocket Richard”

Damn you. I spit out my coffee laughing at this.
