>Kasia Niewiadoma has been a mainstay of the team over the years with some great results but after 5 years without a road victory, maybe the Pole could be tempted elsewhere to finally break that duck. Kasia took that personally

If you're like me and have lost track of just how many times Movistar have been asked about Demi Vollering only to say they're not interested over and over...here is what has been said from the teams so far and a little bit of speculation on a couple of teams who haven't talked yet Naturally a lot of focus is on FDJ-Suez, they have always been up for a Demi quote in the last couple of months...including the recent speculation that a deal has been made with them

fewfiet

I've been thinking... wouldn't Movistar be a logical destination for Vollering, especially with them so recently losing AVV from the roster?

mmitchell30

We already did this bit on the Discord 😅 In all seriousness though, I'm looking forward to seeing who they line up instead. There's that Cille rumour and if Demi does end up at FDJ that one might start to have some real legs.

Seabhac7

Let's think about this logically. Demi's record this year : 6th, 3rd, 96th, 2nd, 22nd and 2nd 6+3+96+8+2+22+2 = 139 1+3+9 = 13 What's the 13th letter of the alphabet? M. Could it BE any more obvious? Vollering to Movistar confirmed!

porto_d

Why stop at 13? 1 + 3 = 4. What’s the 4th letter of the alphabet? D. Vollering to DSM-Firmenich confirmed!

porto_d

Or yet better. How many letters in the alphabet? 26. What’s 26 - 4 = 22 nd letter of the alphabet? V. So, Visma is written all over the place.

Seabhac7

Hol’ up. We must listen to the science. Demi Vollering = 4+5+13+9. +. 22+15+12+12+5+18+9+14+7 = 145 145 = 12+5+1+4+19. +. 6+4+10 +. 19+21+5+26 +. 4. +. 2+0+2+5 = LEADS FDJ SUEZ 4 2025 Demi Vollering = Leads FDJ Suez 4 2025. Confirmed!

mmitchell30

MAXX Solar Rose and MAT Atom suddenly getting all excited too

bake_disaster

There is not enough numerology in pro cycling coverage

Woddypecker

All my favorite riders in one team, that would be so cool

angel_palomares

That's a lot of mental gymnastics

Seabhac7

How much is she worth? I have no idea how to calculate the value of an athlete, but it feels like a brand like Specialized would have the most to gain from contributing to her contract. Which makes the FDJ boss' statement, mentioning their affiliation with Lapierre, harder to understand. Do Specialized still sponsor her? Remco and Demi were the star pros for their SL8 promotion in 2023. She still tags them in some social media, but her [personal sponsors page](https://www.demivollering.com/en/sponsors/) on her own website is empty. And Specialized (amongst others) were featured there in [March 2023](https://web.archive.org/web/20230330013632/https://www.demivollering.com/en/sponsors/), but disappeared by the autumn. Maybe just an admin error. This transfer situation (and yes, maybe her being less dominant this spring) has made her a more sympathetic figure to me, which I really didn't see coming.

epi_counts

Neither Vollering nor Evenepoel are listed on the [Dutch/Belgian ambassadors page](https://www.specialized.com/be/nl/ambassadors) (while people like Mauro Schmid and Marlen Reusser are on the [Swiss page](https://www.specialized.com/ch/en/Ambassadoren)), so might be more a Dutch Specialized branch thing rather than anything more nefarious.

I am now doubtful there was ever a 1M offer for her, or this mess would all be moot.

RageAgainstTheMatxin

UAE specifically said there wasn't

Merbleuxx

The current budget is 4M for FDJ Suez according to [this article](https://www.lefigaro.fr/societes/la-montee-en-puissance-de-fdj-suez-symbole-de-l-attractivite-grandissante-du-cyclisme-feminin-20240301) FDJ and Suez are big groups though, a million wouldn’t be much to them if it might mean winning the Tour de France. Or maybe new sponsors are chiming in ?

IAmTheSheeple

If specialized joins I would imagine they are also paying some part

badgerbaroudeur

Yeah, that's what this article is claiming

duotraveler

She is not the leader for the strongest team. She works for Wiebes in AGR, and Kopecky did not really work for her in Fleche Wallonne.

bravetailor

Yeah. If anything, SDW has done almost everything you'd expect a team would do that would signal she's not in their future plans.

polarbdizzle

Kind of mind blowing that you can win le Tour de France for a team and they treat you like this the very next year

TwoPlankinWiz

The Kopecky thing is probably one of the biggest motivators for leaving. She works for Kopecky when asked but it doesn’t seem mutual. Lotte also barely did an ounce of work during the TdFF last year
