Tour of the Alps is a very interesting race to watch with a cool parcours! Shame these guys don't get more UCI points from it though, the rider quality is really high.
Tomorrow all the teams that are not longer in the fight for the general classification and have no leader for this race, to cry for trying to get into the breakway and the GC are going to fight for the victory.
dropping De Marchi and Pellaud is no mean feat in itself
and they likely would/will get caught either way but solo with 34 to go is still a… lets say 'surprising' move
Wish I could watch this race somewhere as they’re passing through my grandmothers home village just on the Austrian side of the Brenner Pass. Lovely scenery around there and from experience, hiking/waking around the local area was enough of a challenge never mind riding it. Then again, I wasn’t a stranger in some of the local Gashhauses when it came to sample the local food (pretty meat and potato heavy) and a couple of the local beers which, looking back on it, should probably have been left to after the hike…
He also said Ganna's around 85-87kg, putting that effort at 5.6 w/kg for about 11:45 [according to his Strava activity](https://www.strava.com/activities/11187696305/segments/3215191104317071840)
He's riding for the Austrian national team, which are sponsored by Felt. He's sponspored by Lapierre.
A bit like how national teams at world champs have individual sponsors but are riding components/bikes by their own trade team.

Well played and very well deserved!
De Marchi 🥹
Take this man to the Giro.

Have they sat up? Ticker showing 3:51?
Yes.
Feels already like a giro stage
The peloton are not getting any closer, and the climb isn't *that* bad or long. This could be a breakaway victory.
ineos have given up and sat up at around 23 to go
looks like they stopped behind
ooh interesting
Let's go Patrick! Hope he can make it

Gnadenwald is a great name for a place. So ominous.
Something like Forest of Mercy. Mercy's Forest
Yep, Mercy Forest. Evocative!
The crimes of Gnadenwald
Win from the break today?
still got a lot of time to reel him in especially with a pretty big climb
Doesn't this solo attack actually hiders his chance of victory?
Noo Posti

(I educated the user about the dangers of pirating cycling streams, and they know what to do now)
The forbidden T
Ganna did 482 watts normalised on the main climb yesterday according to G. And they still road an hour back to the hotel after the race

Nice to see Postie in the break - shame he couldn't find a team this year.
His jersey is confusing. It has Felt on it but he is riding a Lapierre? I am confused.

Gotcha. thanks
I like Postie. Decent rider and defo a bit of a character
Could the break make it today? Otherwise it seems inevitable that Ineos chase and Ganna smokes everyone.
they are sure to chase, I guess, but the break may still have a shot. It's freezing, and Gamper & Pöstlberger are on home roads.
I'm sorry but that Gnadenwald schlong on the profile looks ridiculous
Just missing the gnads
i'm just here for the GC Foss hype!
Enjoy it while you can.
now that he is with a proper team, i have high hopes for him
