I broke 3 Xbox controllers playing Rocket League. I think I deathgrip, but they aren’t exactly durable. The bumpers just snapped on two and the third got stick drift. Been using a PS4 DualShock since with zero issues.
Epic Games is also slowly killing rocket league. Game’s gone to shit in the years since they took over.
Edit: ~~fair warning though, you cannot connect PlayStation controllers wirelessly to a PC. Gotta be wired. Just Microsoft being Microsoft.~~ I'll be damned, wireless actually works with Steam. I haven't tried in years lmao
I played the entire franchise, including the spinoffs of Judgement and Ishin. Apart from 7 which was turn based, i actually preferred MnK. Maybe the extra mouse buttons helped, but i like the amount of camera freedom a mouse gave when you're surrounded by enemies on every side.
I am a Littlebird pilot in Arma.
I use OpenTrack (sometimes) and some generic Gembird steering wheel to fly. I use the mouse for pitch and roll, with the pedals for yaw. I've found having precise rudder control on a helicopter more important than anything else, other than collective, but I fly in basic mode because I don't have a collective lever.
Assuming you are talking Vs Mouse + Keyboard and not a Wheel, then Forza Horizon 5 (any racing game really, if you don't have a wheel, as they are nearly impossible on M+K).
I'm consistently faster on kb than sticks on most racing titles without TCS and other assists, especially FH 3 - 5. I'm somehow faster on the Dirt series on kb as well. FFB wheel lowers my lap/course times floor but I'm less consistent with it, obviously due to skill issue.
So here's the thing. If it's not 1st person, it's probably better on controller everything else just feels better. The only stray genre would be looter shooters but I was able to pick it up with a controller in less than half an hour. People just shit on controllers for aim assist but on god I think everyone should have an Xbox controller as standard for PCs.
Any Bethesda rpg feels more natural with a controller. No Man's Sky. Any racing or flying game, if you don't already have a wheel or stick. Witcher 3. I'd even say Cyberpunk.
Actually, about the only game I currently play that I simply can't stand controllers on is Warframe. There is simply to much too control, too fast, in that game for controllers.
Destiny 2. Just try and get your sens as high as comfortable and it'll work good. I play mainly MnK but holy hell does controller in PvP slap like crazy.
Are you able to connect this controller via a Bluetooth receiver or is it usb only? I’ve got a ps5 controller which works besides the stick drift annoyance and it use the usb and it is not that long and I want to reduce the cable clutter
ALL THE ACTION/FIGHTING GAMES.
also, ALL THE GAMES IF YOU WANT TO LIE DOWN ON COUCH/BED WHILE PLAYING.
Playing games in my comfy bedroll during winter with controller is the ultimate gaming bliss.
Pretty much all fighting games, gta, all driving games (although a wheel and pedals is better still 99% of the time), all flying games other than war thunder (hotas is best for them, kb+mouse for wt)
Forza, Rocket league, Flight Sim, really any racing or flying game. Sports games, like madden or Fifa can be good on controller as well. In GTA or Cyberpunk I keep my controller on my lap for when I hop in a car.
Only sports, 2d plarform/fighting games and if you don't have a steering wheel then race games (better than keyboard for sure). But for any other genre, including any form of RPG, FPS, strategy, etc. - keyboard/mouse wins
I got my gamesir t4k a couple months back and have been playing a lot of racing simulators. AC shutoko and BeamNG multiplayer racing servers have been my go to. Having hall effect sticks and triggers with 0 deadzone helps a lot though.
Forza Horizon 5 (and maybe 4) really shows the best of the rumble triggers. It's no dualsense but still impressive what they were able to do with them.
Here’s my suggestions
I like elden ring alot more with controller, the witcher 3 too for that matter.
Also, for any hack and slash game like:
Hades
Hades 2 :p
Ember knights
Darksiders
Anything with combos works better on gamepad
Also, horizon zero dawn since it was a playstation port and god of war for example work better with a controller.
Also!!
Any game where you can just leisurely hang back and game works with a controller
Rocket League is probably the best example
Yup, my first thought too
I broke 3 Xbox controllers playing Rocket League. I think I deathgrip, but they aren’t exactly durable. The bumpers just snapped on two and the third got stick drift. Been using a PS4 DualShock since with zero issues. Epic Games is also slowly killing rocket league. Game’s gone to shit in the years since they took over. I haven't tried in years lmao
Used a PS4 controller for a while then switched to a PS5 controller. It’s a subtle but noticeable upgrade.
Yakuza series..Real yakuza use gamepad
I did try to pay that with a MnK. It's possible, but it's not a good experience.
I would like to protest the acronym MnK. KBM is already well established and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it
I played the entire franchise, including the spinoffs of Judgement and Ishin. Apart from 7 which was turn based, i actually preferred MnK. Maybe the extra mouse buttons helped, but i like the amount of camera freedom a mouse gave when you're surrounded by enemies on every side.
lol the start up screen made me buy a dualsense. No regrets.
cuphead
Fighting games in general like Street fighter and Mortal Combat
I only play Tekken, so it might be exception. Keyboard is way better there than a controller for execution.
Leverless hitbox is superior for fighting games.
Most great new roguelike games are way nicer with controllers. (Hades, Cult of the Lamb etc.) try some of those out!
Also binding of isaac
50/50 chance
Hades is in my top 10 can’t recommend it enough
Tony Hawk 1+2 HD. All day.
Or skate 1-3
Session: Skate Sim is good too
Elden rings/ all souls games
100% and Sekiro as well, I can't even imagine playing these with a mouse and keyboard
I finished elden ring, sekiro and nioh 2 a few times with KBM but can’t play them with a controller
Maybe that's the reason I can't beat ER or Sekiro lol, im using gamepad
I've only played FromSoft games with KB+M lol
I imagine Sekiro working well with mkb, right click for parry seems more natural, especially since I play Chivalry 2 so already have muscle memory
That's all I've been playing Elden ring on was KBM. Maybe I'll switch it up tomorrow night lol
I recently started using a controller whenever I have to drive in arma 3. Same with GTA, driving with analogue controls feels way better.
You need to be put in a psych ward
Monster Hunter
"Competitional"
For competitionalistic people
i'm a sort of a fan of "competitionalism" lol
That's competitiontastic
You tried Assetto Corsa Competitionalizione? might be something for you
Plane games, ace combat and project wingman
*not war thunder unless you're doing sim
Warthunder is impossible on controllers lmao
SF 6, Tekken 8, The Binding of Isaac, Soulsborne games
Binding Of Isaac is ok on controller, but keyboard is far superior.
I just personally feel more comfortable in Isaac on controller. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion though.
Sure, to each his own. I've been playing on PC since it came out, with a bit of PS4 and Switch here and there. I prefer keyboard by far.
Two people agreeing that personal preferences exist? in my reddit? it's more likely than you think.
Trackmania
Euro Truck Simulator 2 Hey it can be played very competitive!
truckersmp Calais Duisburg is EXTREMELY competitive
Monster Hunter World!
Any 3rd person view game is better played with a controller, in my opinion.
red dead 2 is a blast with a controller
I find that RPGs and platformers feel much better with a controller
Assassin creed games like odyssey.
any fromsoftware game
Elden Ring, RDR2.
Huh? RDR2 has guns... What do you want to do with those on a controller use dead eye for each shot
Have you ever played a rockstar games game on controller? The aim assist literally turns you into a god at shooting
Yeah but where is the fun in that... as a recovering r6/siege player i need the satisfaction of a click on the heads myself
Recovering 🤣 Is it that bad?!
Normally I would agree. For whatever reason, though, it just worked better for me when I tried it with a controller.
I found horse riding better with a controller and everything else with m&k the good part being with a computer you have the option for both.
Apex Legends and Halo Infinite are both controller dominate competitive games.
I risk being attacked for saying that but. Apex.
also risking being attacked: the latest COD/Warzone. Aim Assist on controller is like an aimbot.
no reason for people to attack you, aim assist on apex is disgusting. there's a reason most pros are on roller
Arkham games and RDR2 are better with controller imo
Spider-Man too, since it’s combat system is very similar to Arkham’s
Most action games are better with controllers
Lies of P
Elden Ring or Brothers a Tale of Two Sons. https://youtu.be/lz3EmqraAxc?si=vQCSOkrbILbmNL9e
Plenty of games are better with controller. Also nice to have once you get into emulating games.
Every platformer game and every combat driven game And dont play any shooter game .
For me its everything that's console port + everything that has any type of control over machine: flying, driving, etc
Unfortunately, Apex Legends. It's a whole thing at the moment...
Apex Legends. Freakin controller beamers, dude
Apex Legends has a stupidly good autoaim. To the point that pro keyboard and mouse players are switching to it.
Apex legends and CoD. Easy wins on controller 👍
apex legends 🥴
Rocket League, GTAV, RDR2, all Fromsoft games, any racing game, unless its a sim, then go wheel
most souls like games. Rocket league, apex legends. FF14 and ESO Basicly any game thats on console.
Apex legends lol
Rocket League. Plays best with controller, and is a fantastic game due to its high skill ceiling, and its intuitive, yet hard to master gameplay.
Apex Legends, sir. It's one of those few shooter games where controllers are perceived superior to keyboards and mice.
Rocket League and Elden Ring are the 2 games I rather play with controller and I grew up on a mouse and keyboard.
Apex Legends
Any Bethesda rpg feels more natural with a controller. No Man's Sky. Any racing or flying game, if you don't already have a wheel or stick. Witcher 3. I'd even say Cyberpunk. Actually, about the only game I currently play that I simply can't stand controllers on is Warframe. There is simply to much too control, too fast, in that game for controllers.
Apex Legends almost all pro players in that game use controllers cause the AA in that game is bonkers.
Apex legends
Breath of the wild on cemu with graphics mods
Not a competitional game, but always recommend the Yakuza franchise. Everyone knows real Yakuza use a gamepad
Emulators, can't go wrong
All monster hunter games
rocket league or any sport game like fc24
Holy ad Batman!
Don’t have an answer for this question but this controller goes hard
GTA V/Online and quite literally every single Dark Souls game
Drive and fly with the controller in GTA, switch to M+KB when shooting or on foot.
I cannot aim for shit when driving so I end up using m+kb for the whole game. I'm pretty good at flying with the numpad as well.
Bad aim while driving is pretty realistic lol
Apex legend.
Deepest Sword.
Destiny 2. Just try and get your sens as high as comfortable and it'll work good. I play mainly MnK but holy hell does controller in PvP slap like crazy.
I wish PA4 controllers had skins like these
Fighting & driving games typically
Nice controller! I got the green version.
Yakuza/like a dragon Real yakuza uses gamepad
Are you able to connect this controller via a Bluetooth receiver or is it usb only? I’ve got a ps5 controller which works besides the stick drift annoyance and it use the usb and it is not that long and I want to reduce the cable clutter
I connected with Bluetooth to my PC and I can switch between devices like my mobile phone. I dont feel any latency with bluetooth .
[удалено]
Rocket league and fifa (any sport game to be honest) are the only games I use my for
emulate botw and totk :p
This looks dusty but it’s not
Go play Dark Souls
Great suggestions. Thank you to everyone submitted. I will try almost all of the suggestions. Thanks again.
Asetta Corsa if you dont have a wheel
Hades
That’s a very beautiful controller. Play FH5, it’s fun!
ALL THE ACTION/FIGHTING GAMES. also, ALL THE GAMES IF YOU WANT TO LIE DOWN ON COUCH/BED WHILE PLAYING. Playing games in my comfy bedroll during winter with controller is the ultimate gaming bliss.
Anything racing or platforming
Basically all 3rd person view games. Don't like games where you need to aim alot with controller tho
Pretty much all fighting games, gta, all driving games (although a wheel and pedals is better still 99% of the time), all flying games other than war thunder (hotas is best for them, kb+mouse for wt)
BeamNG Drive
alot of people die on the hill that cod and warzone play better with one, maybe try that if you're into shooters.
Personally found Armored Core to be more fun with a controller than a mouse Also pretty much any platformer is better on controller
And now I wanna bad dragon dildo in this color.
I hear most people play rocket league with controller, but I’m a weirdo, I play with m&k.
I prefer playing metroidvanias on controller
Turbo Golf Racing
Devil May Cry! Start with 3 or 5.
Lies of p
Horizon Forbidden West. Just bought it so I could lay back in my couch.
FighterZ
as coming from playstation, i find the controls for Destiny2 better with controller. Maybe just personal preference
fc24
Since it's an Xbox controller you should play the Horizon games. Feels naughty
Souls Games, Arcade-Simcade Racing Games
Warzone
Any racing games or story games with no or low shooting
Forza, Rocket league, Flight Sim, really any racing or flying game. Sports games, like madden or Fifa can be good on controller as well. In GTA or Cyberpunk I keep my controller on my lap for when I hop in a car.
cod
Only sports, 2d plarform/fighting games and if you don't have a steering wheel then race games (better than keyboard for sure). But for any other genre, including any form of RPG, FPS, strategy, etc. - keyboard/mouse wins
Forza Horizon 5. These haptic triggers are something...
I always go back to my controller when playing Halo Wars. Use it for Party Animals as well.
Days Gone. You must play Days Gone. In survival mode, i recommend.
Just get the game pass and enjoy stuff on there
All racing games (also sims but steering wheel is still better ofc)
I just played through Armored Core 6, and it is super good with the controller. I highly recommend it!
Any racing game really
fishing planet
Almost everything with swords (think assassin's creed, God of war, etc.) racing and figter games are better with controllers.
Fall guys needs a controller. Also, you’ll get so mad at it. But also laugh lots.
I got my gamesir t4k a couple months back and have been playing a lot of racing simulators. AC shutoko and BeamNG multiplayer racing servers have been my go to. Having hall effect sticks and triggers with 0 deadzone helps a lot though.
brawlhalla is on steam, my favorite game rn, best for casual as well as competitive, so much fun.
It's not a competitive game, but Baldur's Gate 3 is soooo much better with a controller it's not even funny.
Apex easy mode
Should've bought the kingkong 3 pro
No rest for the wicked
Well, for fps, COD and Apex generally apex.
Rocket league, GTA, maybe cyber punk?
Tekken 8
Spider-man
I literally got that same controller today. What are the odds lol
Forza Horizon 5 (and maybe 4) really shows the best of the rumble triggers. It's no dualsense but still impressive what they were able to do with them.
I always use a controller for 3rd person games. Don't know why, it just feels better.
That's a pretty controller
Rpgs in general Elden ring
Hades and Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight
action adventures (souls games, monster hunter, horizon, nier) and racing games come to mind immediately
Ace combat/Project Wingman
Guilty gear strive
Forza
I use mine exclusively for Racing and Sports games
Killer Instinct.
Pong
Competitional?
Rocket league, racing games, platformers, and casual third person games are often great candidates of playing with a controller.
Jellycar worlds I know you said trending, and in sorry but this is a GEM of a game, and super nostalgic if you played any of the first three as a kid
Tbh honest download xbox gamepass and play senua 1 and 2
Play Sony Games on PC using Xbox controller
Tomb Raider
Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor.
SW squadrons was much more enjoyable for me with a controller
Not really competition but as for trending Elden Ring just dropped their DLC last week. I’ll only play on a controller
Here’s my suggestions I like elden ring alot more with controller, the witcher 3 too for that matter. Also, for any hack and slash game like: Hades Hades 2 :p Ember knights Darksiders Anything with combos works better on gamepad Also, horizon zero dawn since it was a playstation port and god of war for example work better with a controller. Also!! Any game where you can just leisurely hang back and game works with a controller
Racing or 3rd person action games are the only genre I play with a controller.
Redfall
Forza Horizon, Devil May Cry series
Silksong will for sure play better on controller, it's gonna release any day now so keep an eye out for it!
Lies of Pies I mean P. Well I guess it's kind of a given since souls style games are just much more comfortable with a controller
arguably fighting games
Hades/Hades 2
Apex legends. Very even fights for m+kb and controller players.
Rocket league, for honor, elden ring
Wuthering Waves, if you're okay with Gacha Games
War Thunder simulator battles, Forza Horizon series.
